Seventeen

We spent the remainder of the night and into the next worshipping each other and dozing. I was amazed at how the transformation had made my senses more acute. I was also aware that I was ‘gifted’ with several more as well. Ladislao and I no longer needed to physically speak to one another; we merely needed to project our thoughts to communicate. I wondered if it would be that way with the rest of them….

It was then that a strange feeling came over me. It seemed familiar, this feeling, but I couldn’t pin point the source or the reason. Ladislao chuckled, “Contrary to popular belief, man cannot survive on sex alone….we must feed.”

“Am I that obvious,” I asked.

“To me you are,” he replied. He got up from the bed walked over to the water basin. He splashed water onto his face and into his hair. He picked up my brush from the vanity and halfway back to the bad, bent over and retrieved his hair tie. I licked my lips as I watched stray beads of water gently slide down his glorious body. I closed my eyes and groaned, trying to contain the instantaneous desire that flared whenever I looked upon Ladislao.

He padded back to the bed and held up the brush and the gold clasp, “Do you mind? Since you were kind enough to remove it?” I couldn’t resist the temptation to brush his hair. I got up on my knees and motioned him to sit in front of me.

I loved the feel of his hair in my hands; like cool silk his inky stresses slid through the bristles of the brush into the confines of my hands, securing it in the back with his signature gold clasp. He got up and turned around to face me. I reached up and smoothed the front back and a few wisps of hair escaped to frame his face. I thanked all the gods for delivering this man to me…..

I slipped off the bed and walked to the armoire. I opened both doors wide so I could see everything inside. I felt rather than heard Ladislao walk up behind me. He wrapped his arms around me and put his chin on my shoulder.

“I think you should wear the gold one,” he said, “It will bring out the gold in your eyes.”

I pulled out the dress and held it up. It shimmered and sparkled with incandescent light. I handed it to Ladislao and began collecting the other garments that I would need.
