I'd like to update Sequel, but the ache about my eyes tells me otherwise. That and the most recent sick to go through the house. Who would of thought that being in a house with other people would be bad for writing... only because of the sicks that go through. Geh. Here this one is. I've got plotting for both of them that I would love to sit down and spend the time on. However, tomorrow is an up early day and I am sick so no staying up tonight. Tomorrow night though... fwahhahahha. *coughs*As per this, more talk of Ayato. Paw is mildly obsessive about it, which I can understand, given his whole, "no one's listening to me! If I was Ayato..." *eyeroll* if you only believe the world is ending if Jim next door says so, even when the brimstone and fire fall from the sky, then you have an issue and deserve to be caught in the fire and brimstone.Read, Reveiw and Enjoy. As they stepped off the elevator, Mik sighed. Souse growled and stepped away from Mik. “I am going back to Essaun. Do not interrupt me again.”“Alright, but when you’re … satisfied… I need to speak to you… about…” Mik made a motion towards his apartment. “About the no hand man? Why? Lillow was simply-”“Not about her. About the fact that the only one who came running at the sign of danger was Hohi.”Souse went from being casual and eager to get back to Essuan, to leader of the tribe in less than a breath. Danger rolled off of the male and the hallway darkened as the lights flickered out, one by one. “What?” was all Souse said. Mik glanced at the glitter that was Souse’s eyes as the last spark of light went out of the hallway, “Hohi was the only one to respond to the danger. Mind you, Violet was across the city, at the program building with her two boys.”“The tribe must react. Where was Paw?”“Fast asleep, I came to you before hand, about Paw, and we discussed his state of mind. He seemed … dazed… when he came into the kitchen.”Silence predominated over the hallway. The curtain that was Mik’s doorway flickered upward and Lillow peered into the darkness. The girl’s lip curled up in a snarl, the light casting devious shadows across her face. “Two males arguing in the dark. If this were any more clichéd, you would be lovers bound to a quest,” she snarled out. “Now is not the time, nor the place, child,” Souse snapped back at her, making Lillow scurry back into the apartment. Further down the hall, another curtain flickered up, this one revealed Essuan, completely naked. The woman ignored Mik entirely as she smiled coyly at Souse. A hand motion, begged him to come to her, even though his back was to her. “But that can be dealt with later,” Mik murmured, “after Paw has rested and can back you properly. When the people have gone back to thinking you are a docile little sheep again and after Essuan is finished with you. I’m told that questioning a woman is a dangerous thing to do. I’m more afraid of her than you, and I’m fairly certain she could do more damage to me than you.”Souse made a sound at the back of his throat that might have been an agreement. “Until later, this matter may wait. You deal with Paw, I shall deal with my woman.”Essuan’s lip curled in a nasty sort of smile as Souse turned towards her. She heard every word. Mik really did not want to know what she was going to do to Souse. Mik moved to his apartment and snatched up the phone just as it began to ring. Explained to Koln what was going on and shut the line off. He moved to the living room and sat beside Paw, who had a candle lit and grinned at Mik. “Power works.”“Want not work,” Paw murmured, looking at the candle, “fire gift always from high above and beyond the gods. Fire light way for people to civilize. Without fire, no civilization could arise, still the people would be dragging from the bottoms of the rivers and lakes. Fire gives us life and we never thank it for its time.”“Fire cannot-”“Fire feels, like all elements do. Air and Earth, they can no longer respond,” as if that was a well known fact.“Uhm…”“Because…” Paw sighed out, “two villages, many generations ago, were at war with one another. So one village bound to flesh the spirit of earth. Taking from the other village’s land, both villages became barren. The second village felt this change and bound air to counteract the earth, to a young boy. Always to young boys, your people do stupid things. Never to grown men who can say yes or no or protect themselves.”“So earth and air died.”“No. Gods no, Earth was bound to Rava, always he walks steadily and quickly. Never does he hunger for food, for always the earth provides for him. Air, to Ayato is bound. Always those who harm him die of airborne diseases. He can take the breath away, can make fighting easier for the army he works with. Some say he can fly.”“Only Illuva can fly. Even I know that.” Mik bent close to Paw and pecked the Sidhe’s cheek. “Some say,” Paw grunted, “some also say he is alive, in this day and age of ours. As one of us.”“One of us? You? A Sidhe?” Mik laughed, “the only way Ayato could be born, I suppose, but what a life that would be, without Rava by his side. He. Can’t be Sidhe, right?”“You are correct,” Paw stood and slid his arms around Mik, smiling up at the man, “Rava cannot be born Sidhe. He is people through and through. But. Some say… is the Sidhe way of saying it is merely gossip. The kind of gossip that is hardly to be believed. Ayato, born in this lifetime and not here? Not leading an army against us? Why not?”“You sound upset.”“I am. This would be so much easier if Ayato were here and Sidhe. Thus we would say. Look, here there exists a Sidhe who shares his bounds and lines with the people. And the people would retreat and bend and bow to Ayato. He tore down an empire who dared to tell him that he could not take a lover, that he must serve as always a slave and never better himself.”“The empire was flawed,” Mik shrugged, he knew very little of the ancient civilization that had covered Norash and Valease and made the two one nation, one territory. “And thus are the people now. Only people would think to make a man grown food only to force him to sell the food and then make him pay more than he was paid to buy food for his own family to eat! No man may grow his own food any longer, no man may drink the waters of the rivers and not be fined. A man cannot piss on a tree without being arrested and called a pervert and an indecent nor may he take down an animal without being called a bastard. “Man was meant to hunt the animals. Men raise animals and then slaughter them at too young an age, the animals never knowing a free day in their lives and yet it is those who hunt a deer or a bear or boar for himself who is the bastard and the one in the wrong. That is not a free world.”“Nothing is free.”“It is,” Paw made a small sound and pulled something from his pocket, a black strip of leather with a small metal something in the middle. This he tied around Mik’s neck before baring his own neck to Mik, showing the man the similar style of choker around his neck, “it can be. Death is free, always. The method of death that you wish to take, that may not be free… but death in its essence is free. It is the only thing that makes us all equal.”Their lips met in a startlingly simple, yet arousing kiss. The barest touch of their lips and that was all. “What are you saying? Hmm? Some hidden meaning in the words?”“No,” Paw shook his head, motioned to the television, “men and women are starving to the south because they have no money. Money does not grow, money is filthy, covered in bacteria and disease and it begets nothing. People kill one another over it, they sell their bodies for it and they think they can sell what the gods have given them and for what? For pieces of metal and pieces of paper that hold no sustenance. Money does not protect a man, money does not arm him or train him. It sits in a fucking bank and looks shiny. You want shiny objects?”“Sometimes,” Mik murmured, “there’s something about a sparkle in a Sidhe’s eye when they get pissed off that makes me giddy in a very dirty way.”“If a man wants sparkles he should take the gems from the earth and polish them and look upon them and giggle … what… did you just say?”“Nothing,” Mik murmured, reaching down and plucking up the candle. He went to the nest room and set the candle on the small table beside the bed. Paw followed Mik in and tapped the man’s back as he bent over, “you said something about sparkles and Sidhe and dirty thoughts.”“Did not.”“Did too.”“Did not!” Mik turned to Paw and tried to kiss the Sidhe’s neck, but the damned choker got in the way, “I can’t kiss your neck with this thing on…”“I can take mine off,” Paw stripped it off and set it on the table beside the candle before offering his neck to Mik, “neh?”Mik kissed the offered neck, pushing and prodding Paw into the nest as he did so. A kiss turned to a nuzzle, to a nip and a taste and a flick of his tongue. Mik covered Paw, hardly containing his own desires as he tugged at the Sidhe’s clothing. How long had it been? So long that he couldn’t recall. Had they had sex since the mesa was born? Mik couldn’t recall. That was bad. Paw’s shirt came off. Mik sat back and stripped off his own shirt. Mik returned to Paw’s neck and kissed gently, working down the Sidhe’s torso. Nibbling on a nipple made Paw gasp, darting his tongue over the same, sensitive area made the Sidhe writhe with pleasure. Paw’s hips met Mik’s and the male mewled out a plea for more. Mik took his time, as he hadn’t in a long while, finding Paw’s tender spots and exploring the Sidhe’s flesh. How sensitive, where, Mik had forgotten how the smallest motion against Paw’s skin could bring forth sounds of pleasure. When he grew bored of listening to Paw mewl, Mik sat back and stripped off the last articles of clothing between them. He fixed his body against Paw’s, settling between the Sidhe’s legs and wondering at how neatly the two of them fit together. They moved slowly, unhurried and unworried. Whatever was happening in the outside world could wait, whatever the family needed, the tribe would provide. When Mik penetrated Paw, the Sidhe gasped, digging his fingers into Mik’s shoulder even as a leg wrapped around Mik’s waist and encouraged the man to move closer. The easing in was near torture. By the time Mik was fully inside Paw, he was near finished. As was Paw. “Faster,” Paw moaned at Mik’s first, slow thrust.Mik moved slowly, at a leisurely pace, paying no heed to Paw’s half hearted complaints about the speed. The pleasure did not throb through his veins, but crept through them, as if afraid of moving too quickly. With a kiss to Paw’s brow, Mik realised that he was completed. Completed several minutes ago, if the sticky mess between Paw and Mik’s stomachs was any indication. Paw purred, straightening once more so that his face was just out of Mik’s reach, given the man’s position. “That was good,” Paw murmured. “Sadly… it was almost like it didn’t happen,” Mik sighed.“Perhaps…,” Paw groaned as Mik withdrew, “but how does Mik feel now?”… complete. Which was strange. Like working in the dark and having someone turn on the light. He hadn’t realised that something was missing. Mik curled around Paw’s side and sighed. He tugged the blankets around them, resting his head on Paw’s shoulder. “Very strange,” he murmured, “and very tired.”“Paw is tired as well. All will sleep,” Paw yawned, “then more sex.”“Then more sex.” Mik promised. .
