Beating
Kenta
“Ryuu, you need to get up.”
“Boy you are demanding.” Ryuu’s sleepy mumble was barely audible from where I stood beside the bed. I shook my head. Like we had time for that this morning. Afternoon, now.
“Ryuu it’s two in-oi!” I suddenly found myself face down on the bed the blanket and long legs tangled around me. “Ryuu! We don’t have time! The guys-ah! Stop! Stop it! Fuck!”
I flailed trying to get loose as Ryuu tickled me. Ever since he’d found out how ticklish I was he took every fucking chance he got to tickle me. I was quickly out of breath and lay there gasping, Ryuu hovering over me. He was grinning from ear to ear as he leaned down to kiss me.
“You are so cute. I just love to hear you laugh.”
“Get off me.”
“I’ll get off on you.”
“Not-what-I-said . . .” I managed between kisses. Finally I had to put a hand on his chest, pushing him back, to stop him. “Enough, got plenty of time later. Lunch is already cold.”
“Then there is no hurry, right.” I swear to my ancestors the man was out to drive me fucking insane. He really was not going to take no for an answer right now. His hand was already down my pants.
I jerked hearing someone clear their throat. “Ryuu, there are minors here. Next time shut the door.”
I shoved Ryuu off of me a little harder than I intended and he yelped, disappearing off the side of the bed.
“Kenta.” I cringed hearing him whine, drawing out the last part of my name.
“Sorry.”
“Serves him right.” Sora was smirking at me from the doorway. “Seriously shut the door next time. I don’t want you guys scaring Hasu for life.”
I nodded getting myself fixed as Ryuu hauled himself up from the floor, pout firmly in place. He smacked me on the leg.
“You don’t have to freak out like that you know.”
“Said sorry.” He was rubbing the side of his head and I hoped he hadn’t hit the nightstand or something.
“Come here.”
“Why should I?” I grabbed his arm and pulled him down toward me.
“Stop being such a fucking baby. You hit your head?”
He nodded still pouting and I grabbed him around the waist pulling him down onto my lap. “Good, nothing damaged then.”
“Haha very funny Kenta.” He wrapped his arms around my neck and rested his head against mine. “You really are a jerk sometimes.”
“Paid to be.”
“It’s not what I pay you for.”
I pulled back to look at him for a moment, raising an eyebrow. He blinked at me for a second before grinning. “I didn’t mean it that way, though . . .”
“Don’t even go there. Lets go eat lunch. If there’s any left. Lazy ass.”
“My ass is anything but lazy.” He got up, still smiling and pulled me to my feet. I found myself really wishing they didn’t have practice today. I wanted to spend time with him, just the two of us. It seemed like the longer we were together the more time I wanted to spend with him. It was an odd feeling, but one I didn’t mind having. I wondered if Akira and Suke felt the same way about Reiko and Ruka. This . . . need to be with them.
Lunch was gone. Of course. Leave food alone with Hasu and it will disappear. I have no fucking idea how a little kid like him put away so much food. While I was out picking up stuff to remake lunch, dinner now, Hayate called me.
“Hey, we’ve got an issue down at the south side docks. Can you patrol that area tonight and see what shows up?”
“Yeah, sure. Any back up if I need it?”
“Not tonight, so be safe.”
“Yeah.” Hanging up the phone I shoved it into my pocket. Normally I looked forward to going to work. Now I was irritated. Well, I’d just have to hurry and figure out what was going on. Sometimes it was nothing more than high school kids fighting. Though, now that I thought about it, I’d heard some rumors that a new little gang was trying to start up. Yeah, have to put that down fucking hard. At least Ryuu would be busy with practice most of the evening and hopefully I got back before he went to bed. Heading back I made a quick dinner making sure there was enough for everyone. Reiko was in the office working on paperwork and I made the mistake of opening the door to the studio. The sound was intense and I quickly shut the door. Wouldn’t be a good idea to interrupt right in the middle of practice.
After telling Reiko what was going on I headed downstairs to get my bike. It was already dark. The night air was cool, the breeze off the ocean heavy with moisture as I drove along the docks. Parking outside the warehouse I walked the bike around the side so that it was out of sight. I hated these wait and watch type jobs. They were so boring. Though if the Fudoka were trespassing on our territory we needed to know. Sighing I went to find a hidden spot to keep an eye on things.
At least I'd be rested up if there was a fight. That I was kind of looking forward to. It had been a while since I'd had a good fight. Even working at the bar I'd been in fewer fights than I'd thought. After a couple of hours I realized I had forgotten to eat anything before I’d left and decided to run down to the local Seven-Eleven to grab a snack. Wasn't like much would happen in fifteen minutes. Coming out some idiot ran smack into me, nearly knocking me down and making me drop my snacks.
"Fuck man! I think you broke my arm! How the fuck are you gunna pay for it you fucking shithead!"
Several of the guys behind him were shouting at me as well, asking me how I was going to pay for it and to 'cough up the money'.
"I think I'mma have to go to the fuckin hospital now you piece of shit! Pay up!"
I glared at the man who had run into me. My snacks were all over the ground and mashed now. "Who gives a fuck about your fucking arm. You ruined my snack shithead. I think you need to pay me for ruining my snack or I'll really break your arm fucking idiot."
Beady eyes glared at me and licking his teeth the guy got in my face. "Oh?" He sneered at me before stepping back and looking me over. "You really think your fucking pansy ass snacks mean shit to me okama?"
He looked down grinding his heel into the packages, completely ruining the food. I clenched my fists, my whole body tensing. He was going to take a swing at me, I just knew it. Sure enough. I swatted the punch to the side and was surprised when he ducked out of the way of mine. I had just enough time to realize I’d been surrounded the crash of the store sign being knocked over behind me. I growled watching the group surrounding me. I'd been itching for a fight and apparently one had found me.
"Who the fuck are you calling okama, bitch?" I sidestepped a lunge and went after the first guy again. He seemed to be the leader and I wanted to make him suffer for wasting my food. I kind of wished now I'd thought to bring my knife with me. I blocked another punch landing one of my own only to get a boot in the gut. I staggered back trying to keep my feet. If I went down now, it was a pretty good bet I wouldn’t be getting up anytime soon. I tried to jerk out of the way as several guys came at me all at once. Then it was just punch, kick, dodge, block, repeat for a bit. After what seemed like forever I suddenly found myself facing the lead guy again. He seemed pretty pissed that I was taking on all his guys and kicking their asses.
"Fucking little bitch. I'll show ya how a real man is!"
“You tell him Eizo!”
"Shut the fuck up!" I wiped the blood off my chin before kicking one the the guys who tried to come at me again. So that was his name. "You're nothing but a pack of whiny bitches who are going to get their asses fucked up."
I couldn't help grinning. These guys might be punks but there weren't at my level. I'd fought more Fudoka at once than this. True, I'd been pretty fucked up by the end of the fight but I'd shown them that I didn't go down that easy. These guys would be eating more than their words by the time I was done.
"Don't fuckin make me laugh!" Eizo grinned wiping a bit a blood off his face and the only warning I got was a slight smirk before he lunged at me. We traded blows for a minute when something slammed into my back hard enough my vision went white for a moment, then gray. Oh fuck . . . that was bad. I tried to get some air, but my lungs weren’t working. I’m not sure how I kept my feet, but I could see the guys around me grabbing more weapons from some of their buddies.
"Let's have some fun boys."
Sometimes I wished I knew how to keep my mouth shut. It probably would save me a lot of pain and right now-humiliation. I staggered trying to keep my feet and block what blows I could. It wasn't working very well and blood was getting into my eyes making seeing difficult. At least I'd managed to take a couple of them out of the fight. I really wanted to smash Eizo’a face in. He was the stupid fucker who'd started it all.
The heel of a boot slammed into the side of my face sending me sprawling. I rolled over but before I could get up the end of a pipe stabbed down into my chest pinning me as Eizo leaned on it, grinning down at me. I grabbed the pipe, the pain starting to get the better of me. This was not going very fucking well. Eizo just pressed down harder as I tried to move the pipe off my chest so I could breathe.
"You’re a little fucking shit who should know when to keep your whore mouth shut. Fucking uke okama." He lifted the pipe only to stomp down on my stomach, the air exploding out of my lungs. I lay there coughing and gasping wondering why I always had to find trouble when I was working.
"Grab him. Let's get off the street."
What the hell? Hadn’t they had enough fun? I was really starting to reach my limit and the thought that these punks were responsible pissed me off. I struggled as they drug me toward an underpass. I knew what happened in secluded areas like that, though I was usually the one doing the beating. I managed to punch one of the guys holding me but that got me hit with a pipe again and things started to fade out a bit. I couldn't have that. If I passed out I probably wouldn't wake up. I wasn't about ready to give up and let these fuckers think they'd won. As soon as they let go I wasn't going to hold back.
Easier said than done.
I coughed, spitting out blood. It was difficult to keep my feet and I hated the weak feeling that was making it more and more difficult to raise my arms to block or throw punches. I forced down the fear that was starting to try to come up. I wasn't down yet and I'd kill them before I allowed that to happen.
"I’m going to fucking kill you bastards!"
Eizo laughed. “Why don't we put that mouth to use, ne boys?" He laughed watching as the circle of boys closed in on me. They tackled me to the ground holding me down any way they could, one even had me by the hair. Struggling, I couldn’t even budge them. I watched, feeling more helpless and hopeless by the second as Eizo came to stand over me, a pipe still in his hand.
"You're used to bein' on bottom, ne Okama? I bet ya ain't used to somethin' very big. Why don't we help you there." Eizo smirked twisting the pipe as he walked toward me, "I think this pipe will do. I don't think there's anyone around would want your ass, bitch."
Laughing he stood over me. I fought the panic as they roughly turned me onto my stomach. This simply was not happening. There was no fucking way. Things had started out so great today, it couldn’t fucking end like this. I struggled to get up and the guy holding my hair slammed my face onto the concrete which was already sticky with blood. I could feel hands at my belt, everything seeming utterly surreal. Ryuu was going to be so upset with me, hell I was too. Getting taken out like this was just beyond humiliating.
"Bet you're so used to this bitch."
Oh FUCK! Was the only thing going through my head as I struggled harder. They wouldn't really . . . would they? Oh shit-shit-shit! I couldn't get free and the fear was now full blown panic. I was surprised at just how scared I was, but my struggling did nothing but make them smack my head down on the pavement again. I had to think of something, some way to get free. Anything. I wasn't about to let them know I was scared.
"Bet you use the pipe on yourself all the time you sick fuck. You'd have to since none of you got fucking dick." That got me hit again and I actually felt myself starting to lose consciousness. Fuck. Maybe being out of it was better cause this was going to hurt. A whole fucking lot.
"Oh? Really, well looks like we're gunna have a lot of fun. Maybe your blood will help coat it. If you're lucky." Eizo’s laugh made my skin crawl. This was too much like what had happened in juvie, but at least then I’d had back up.
"You guys seem to be having fun here." A new voice, deeper and more mature sounding cut in, the other noises fading.
"Who the fuck are you?" That was Eizo, though I wasn’t sure anymore, everything had that hazy dreamlike quality to it. Noises faded as did the light.
I wasn't quite sure how long it had been when I realized that no one was holding me down. My whole body was numb and throbbing. Laying there I stared at what looked like the bottom of a traffic safety cone for a while, the sounds of a fight echoing in the tunnel. After a bit I managed to gather enough strength to sit up.
Raking blood soaked hair out of my eyes, I frowned. Who were the guys in the weird outfits? Deciding it didn't matter I slowly got to my feet having to catch myself on the guard rail. Blinking several times, I tried to get things to stop spinning. I needed to get to my bike and get out of here. I was going to get in so much trouble for letting some stupid fuckers kick my ass like this when I was supposed to be working. I took a step back and almost ended up on my ass as some guy in a white coat walked up to me. The way he was looking at me I wasn’t sure if he was going to help me or finish the job Eizo had started.
"You look like shit. Come on. We'll get you cleaned up. Do you need help or can you walk?"
I tilted my head to the side to keep the blood from running into my eyes again. He was offering to help? Sounded like it.
"Thanks for the help. Sorry you guys got mixed up in it. I’ve got it from here.”
At least I thought I did. Cause next thing I knew I was falling.
