Chapter 15

Author's Note: Just a filler chapter to give people more of an insight of our main character, Allison's naiveness. It may seem like I'm running out of ideas, but I'm not, there are already many chapters that I have finished writing. I got to around 30 before I lost steam but I will continue it here.

In response to reviews:

Icarus_Complex
: Matt will become less elusive in future chapters. If you think he deserves some type of physical punishment, just wait and see.

Lollipop: Matt will grow as a character in future chapters. I am glad you're enjoying the stories and faithfully reviewing. =D Please keep it up?

Since I cannot reply to reviews directly, if you'd like questions answered, or direct input from the author, as in moi, please send them to the email I created specifically for this purpose so I may respond to you. I woke up a few hours later. I'm not sure how many, but it must have been a lot because it was dark outside. My high had worn off and I felt horrible. I was tired and groggy and confused. I looked around for Matt but I couldn't find him. I sat up and closed my eyes, taking a deep breath before getting up.

I was so sore, I'd felt as though I had a rug burn on the inside of my thighs. As they rubbed against each other it hurt so bad I almost wanted to scream. I managed to find one of Matt's shirt and put it on to cover myself. I fought the urge and walked slowly out of the bedroom, and finally, found Matt in the kitchen, making some macaroni and cheese.

He heard my feet padding against the hardwood floors and turned away from the stove to look at me. I took a wrong step and winced at the pain. He looked at me apologetically. When I finally got into the kitchen, he put his hand on my shoulder.

I began to feel confused. Shouldn't he have kissed me? A hand on my shoulder didn’t seem like the right thing to do after what we had done. Unless it didn't mean anything to him. My stomach turned at the thought.

"Are you alright?" He asked quietly. I just nodded. "Do you want anything? Tylenol, water?"

My thirst was almost unbearable. "Both, please," I managed to choke out despite the dryness in my throat. He came back with two pills and a tall glass of water. The pills and the water disappeared in an instant.

"Call you parents," he said sternly. "Tell them your staying the weekend with a friend."

I didn't know whether to scream and jump for joy because I'd get to spend an entire weekend alone with Matt, or to turn around and run for the hills because I was alone with a psychopath. I chose to do neither. "Why?"

"I don't think there's any good excuse you could give to explain your eccentric walk," he laughed. I turned red. He turned back to the macaroni. "I hope you like mac and cheese. I don't really know how to cook much else."

I laughed quietly. "I love mac and cheese."

"Good," he turned back to smile at me. "Now call your parents."

I slowly made my way back to the bedroom and began to search for my clothes. I found them quickly, folded neatly on top of one of Matt's drawers. I pulled out my cell phone and looked at the display. Five missed calls. Shit.

I took a deep breath and began to dial my home phone number. My father picked up. "Hello?"

I let out a breath of relief. My dad would be easier to lie to than my mother. "Hey, Dad."

"Allison?" He then let out a heavy sigh. "Where have you been?"

"I'm sorry I didn't call dad. Chris and I went to eat after school and then we went to the movies afterward. That's why I didn't answer the phone. I'm sorry."

I could practically hear him reasoning on the other end of the phone. "I guess that makes sense. What time are you coming home?"

"Actually, Dad, I called to talk to you about that," I began formulating a lie. "Chris' parents offered to take us out to dinner tonight. Then they want to take us to Maryland to see this fantastic show and an Orioles game!" I was the best lie I could think of. My dad knew they were always traveling and what I said wasn't too far fetched, like, them taking me on a trip to the Caribbean.

"Can I speak to Chris' parents?" My dad asked, his voice firm. I began to panic, and Matt walked into the room just at that moment. "Hold on, Dad."

He shot a puzzled look at me. "He wants to speak to my friends parents!" I whispered. He nodded and then put out his hand. Not knowing what else to do I handed the phone to him.

"Hello?" His voiced dropped significantly, and he sounded like an older man, very parent-like. "Yes, I know, I apologize for Chris' behavior, he should have made sure Allison called before they went to the theatre," he nodded as he spoke, something I'd always thought was a funny habit. "I'm sorry about the last-minute notice, but yes, I'd love to take Allison and Chris to Maryland this weekend, I think they'd have a great time. Perfect way to end the school year." He continued to nod. "Yes, sure, and if you need anything, let me know. Mmhmm, thank you, nice talking to you as well." He hung up the phone.

I began grinning from ear to ear, "That was amazing!" He walked up to me, placing the telephone in my palm and kissing my head. I began to melt. He left for the kitchen and then quickly returned back with two large bowls of macaroni and cheese on a tray that also had two cans of Pepsi on it.

"Bon Appetit!"

I sat back on the bed with my bowl of mac and cheese in my lap and began to eat quietly. Matt did the same by my side. Neither of us spoke a word. It was extremely awkward. When we had finished eating, he grabbed both plates and dumped them in the kitchen sink. He returned quickly, and began fumbling in that drawer.

He game back with the same small bag of powder. He made another four lines. I snorted two quickly this time, without hesitation. I liked the feeling meth gave me. I felt as though I had all the energy in the world and I felt so happy and outgoing when I was on it. He smiled at me and snorted his two lines before lying back down on the bed.

Within 10 minutes or so I was high, and it was almost as though all these wonderful sensations were coursing through my body. I jumped off of the bed and ran over to Matt, grabbing his arm and trying my best to pull him off of the bed. "Dance with me!" I jumped up and down, "Matttt," I whined, "Dance with me!"

When Matt finally got up, I squealed in delight. He lifted me into his arms and carried me around in an elegant fashion. It was a magical moment. After he got tired he placed me on the bed, proceeding to plop down next to me. He smiled at me. "What do you think about this?"

I looked at him quizzically. "About what?"

"About us," he answered quietly. I was confused and excited. Us? There's an US?

"Us," I hummed to myself. "I like us." I grinned from ear to ear. I sounded like a first grader. "We're so nice together. So pretty."

He giggled. It was the strangest and most adorable thing I'd ever heard. "I think we're pretty too," he giggled even louder. "Do you like this?"

"Huh?" I didn't have any idea what he was talking about this time. But I didn't care. He had said that we were a pair! I was so happy from what was happening, I felt so wonderful because of my high.

"Being high. The drugs. Do you like this?" He almost looked sad for a minute. "Is this the kind of life for you?"

"This?" I spread out my arms, gesturing at everything around me. "I love this. It feels so good. I feel happy, not sad. It's like… I'm bright, and shiny."

He hummed to himself. "That's a perfect way to describe it."
