Akira looked up as the snow fell; it had been falling for a week now. “Damn snow had to come early!” Cyan looked at him, “Why the hell are you not wearing a jacket?”

“Not cold.” He had on that long sleeve blue shirt with the rips and holes in it; underneath it was a black tank top. The pants he had on were dark blue and fit him and on his feet were boots. Forced on by Flare. His hands were in his pockets as he walked along.

Cyan had on a thick jacket with a long sleeve shirt on under it, his pants were a faded blue and his boots came half way up his calf. He had a scarf wrapped around his neck and the two were hiking up to a nearby cliff. It would be two months since he started next week and man was he picking things up fast. As soon as they got to the top he walked right up to the edge and looked down. The frozen lake was below them. “To bad you didn’t get your wings before it froze.”

“Hmmm, too bad.” He turned and looked at Cyan. “What’s that?”

“Huh?” He looked back and stepped back as a large white cat appeared. “That is not normal for around here.”

“Really? It’s normal to me.” Akira pulled his metal rod out and soon he had his spear out. He stepped forward and stood in front of Cyan. He could feel the anger coming off the feline as it walked forward. “What do you want?”

“I don’t think it wants to talk!”

“What do you want?”

“Akira!” It ran forward and jumped claws stretched out. A large black wolf slammed into the white cat and both tumbled to the ground. The two circled, growling and bristling. “Akira let’s get out of here before the winner tries to eat one of us.” The male was trying to get Akira to move.

Then they slammed into each other, the black wolf yelped as razor sharp claws sliced at its face. Snarling it drove it shoulder into it throat and bit down on its arm. The cat howled in pain and tried to toss the wolf on the ground.

Cyan watched as Akira tightened his grip on his spear. His eye never left the battle as the two weres fought. “Akira!” Looking behind him, Cyan saw Daisuke. He pulled his legs forward and landed on the ground next to Cyan. “What the hell is going on? I could hear the fighting all the way back at the cabin and why the hell are you two still sitting here?”

“Akira won’t budge.”

“Akira!” He grabbed Akira’s arm but he smacked his hand away.

“Go without me.”

“Hell no!”

There was another yelp from the black wolf and then Akira gritted his teeth. “You stupid dog take that damn cat out already!”

The black wolf growled.

“Fine, knock her out!”

There was a loud crack as the black wolf took a broken branch and slugged her over the head with it. The were cat dropped to the ground and the form shifted into a pale, white haired nude girl. The black wolf dropped the branch and looked at them. He slowly made his way over to Akira, Daisuke stepped in the way and the black wolf just nudged him to the side, “Hey!”

It sat in front of Akira and looked at him. “You did what?” The ears flattened against its head.

Keir looked at the paper and sighed, “Dad will not like this.”

“Oh hush, I let him go.” Dawn was holding the small girl in her arms. They both had black hair. She looked at Keir who was sitting off to the side. Rune was happily playing with the one month year old. He would make funny faces and the little boy would giggle like mad.

“I think he should spend some time with him.” They looked at Rune, “He looked like a lost little puppy without Akira around.”

“Fine.” He looked over at Rune and smiled, the small male was enjoying his time with the babies.

“I would of became a teacher but, they said I’m not stable enough.”

Dawn looked at him and gave a sad smile, “We all know Hun, but people are scared because of what happen with some of the other kids.”

“I know.”

“I’ll be in my room.”

“Okay, I’ll see you in a while.”

Rune looked up and shouted, “Wait for me!” He waved to her, “I’ll come back to help.”

“Don’t worry, I’ve got this, it won’t be the first time I’ve had to take care of two kids. Plus Nina will be home soon.”

“Okay.” The small male stopped, “If you need any help what so ever.”

“Yes yes now shoo shoo!” He nodded and quickly left the room.

“Keir wait up!” Keir stopped and looked over his shoulder, he saw Rune running down the hall. “Hah… damn your too fast!”

He pulled Rune close and leaned over, “Am I really that fast?”

His face went red and he leaned away. “You’ve got longer legs then me.”

“Guess I’ll have to fix that.” The black haired male picked him up and Rune squeaked in surprise.

“Why do you always pick me up?”

“I like to pick you up.”

“But…” Keir kicked the door to his room closed and sat Rune on the floor. He walked over to his computer and sat down. “What are you doing today?”

“I was looking for something.” Rune looked at the screen and then watched as Keir’s hands moved over the keyboard. He couldn’t pull his eyes away from them, compared to his they were big, and it didn’t help his mind picked then to wander. He blinked when Keir snapped his fingers in front of his face.

“Huh?”

“What are you looking at?”

He looked down and when he spoke it was meek, “Nothing.”

The small male jumped when Keir slipped his hand under his chin, “Rune.” Keir took his hand and gave it a slight squeeze. “Rune?”

Rune looked at their hands; his hand was paler and larger than his. His face grew warm and he lifted his head a little, “I was watching your hands.”

“My hands?”

“I like your hands.” His face grew redder and Keir smirked.

“Just my hands?”

‘Ah… trapped…!’ He pulled away and placing both index fingers together he blushed. Turning around he took a breath and he felt two arms snake around his waist, “Hey!” He was pulled into Keir’s lap.

His chin rested on his shoulder, “Rune, do you like me?” Just when he thought he couldn’t get any redder he did, Keir smirked and turned his head. “I’m waiting for your answer.” He nuzzled his face into the crook of Rune’s neck.

A shiver went up his spine, “Maybe…”

“That’s not the right answer; I want a yes or a no.”

Rune sat there and thought about it and then he meekly nodded. Keir smirked and licked his neck, “K-Keir!”

“I want to hear it from you.”

He muttered something and then turned around. His lips found Keir’s and he pulled back, “Yes, now stop teasing me!”

“I’m teasing…” The black haired male gripped his chin and pulled his face closer to his. “I just can’t get enough of you.”

The small male melted when Keir kissed him, it was deep and hot. His hands tangled in his chin length hair and Keir pulled him closer. He gasped as he felt it, his head fell back and Keir nipped at his neck. That small body was pushed up against him and Keir made a sound in the back of his throat.

His cool hand slipped up his shirt and Rune shivered when Keir’s finger rubbed over one of his nipples. Rune let his head roll forward and they were kissing again. He nipped at his lip and they sat there making out on the chair. There was a knock and Rune jerked away and he stood with his back turned to the door. “Come in.”

The door opened and Nuri looked in, “Where’s mom?”

“With Liv and Chaim.”

“‘Kay.” The door closed and he glanced at the red Rune.

“Rune?”

“I need to go home now. I’ll call you later.” He was out of the room before he could stop him. Keir let his head fall back and then the door opened again. “You want to hang out tomorrow?”

He sat up and looked at Rune, “Sure.”

“Keir.”

“Yeah.”

“Can we take it slow but not too slow? It’s just that I…”

He smiled and Rune couldn’t help but smile. “Okay.”

“Thanks.”

The door closed and Keir sighed as he slumped over, he rested his head on his closed fist. ‘What do I do now…’ He smiled. ‘Oh well as long as he’s happy.’

Zev let his head lay on the table, “I can’t believe you ran.” The dark haired male had on a medium sized dark blue shirt and camo cargo pants.

“It was annoying as hell.” He muttered as he stared at the wall. “You need to read this memorize this and learn how to do this.” They had brought the white haired female to the cabin so they could find out who she was.

“What is he complaining about?”

Akira rubbed his face, “His dad is an Alpha.”

“I don’t wanna be an Alpha!”

“Shit that’s like the best thing to be.” Cyan said from where he was at in the corner of the couch and as far from the unconscious female as he can be in the room.

“Sure it is, once a month you sit in a conference room with smelly old weres.”

“What about the other days?” Zev looked at Akira and then looked away.

“Every night I have to go and watch the borders of the area I’ll be watching over.”

“Doesn’t sound that bad.”

“You should know.” The wolf finally realized what he said when Akira didn’t speak for awhile. “Sorry.”

They all knew what it was like for Akira and the others, Mitch had told them what they did. The group had picked Akira to be the leader because he was the only one going to stand up to Abner and try to get out. Akira stood up and then he tipped the wolf and the chair over. “Stupid dog.”

The door down the hall closed shut and they all, except for Daisuke, looked at Zev. He didn’t move, “I didn’t mean it in a bad way.”

“You’re an idiot.” Daisuke had his feet propped up on the table and his hat over his face.

Zev pushed himself up and looked at him; you could only see the upper half of his face, “Don’t rub it in!”

He pushed his hat up and looked at him, they stared at each other. “Well, you going to fix it?”

The wolf turned his head, “His temper is scary.”

There was a sound from the white haired female and Cyan was off the seat, “She’s waking up.”

The female sat up and looked around the room, “Where am I?”

“Eat something first.” Red eyes looked at Zev.

“Oh.”

“What’s your name?” Daisuke was sitting up and looking at her.

“Kaya.” Zev walked over and crouched in front of her.

“Hello Kaya. Do you remember anything before now?”

“I was in a cave.”Her stomach growled and she blushed. “Sorry.” She looked at the over sized shirt and looked over at Cyan, “Thank you for the shirt.”

“No problem.” It came out as a squeak and Daisuke nudged him.

“Stop acting like a scared little girl.”

Kaya giggled and looked at Zev, “I remember being with mother.” She grew quiet and then stood up. “Mother! She was attacked.”

Flare walked over with a bowl and handed it to her, “Eat and we’ll do something about it.”

“Thank you.”

Zev grinned and she blushed, “Well, what does she look like?”

She chewed and then swallowed the food. “She looks like me.”

“Well, we’ll look for her then.”

“Really!” The small girl hugged him and he caught the sent on her. “Thank you.”

“I’ll go see if Akira wants to help.” He stood up and left the girl sitting on the couch.

Kaya finished her bowl of food and walked over to Flare. The girl was tall and skinny, “Here”

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” She giggled and ran over to Daisuke. “Hello.”

He had gone back to propping his feet on the table and had his hat back over his face. Daisuke looked over at the small girl, “Hello.” He went back to trying to sleep.

“Why do you look sad?”

“How old are you?”

“I’m twelve. Why do you look sad?”

“Why are kids full of questions?”

“Answer her question.” Flare was looking over at him.

“Fine I lost something.”

“Why didn’t you try to find it?”

Cyan sat down and looked at Daisuke, “Yes Daisuke why?”

“You shut up, and you…!” His anger deflated when she looked at him with her big red eyes. “I’m going to lay down.”


Zev knocked on the door. “Go away.”

“I’m sorry.” He pushed the door opened and looked at him. The male was sitting by the window, the cancer stick hanging from his mouth. “Akira.”

“What?”

The wolf flinched and lowered his head. “I’m really sorry; it came out wrong and…”

Akira pulled the cig from his mouth and looked at him, “Zev, it not so bad if you have the right people with you.”

“Well, dad wants me to meet everyone at the end of winter.” He watched as Akira put the cigarette back in his mouth. “And bring someone along.”

He looked at him, maybe he would… and then he remembered they were just friends and he looked away. ‘Great now I feel like shit.’

“Is it really that easy?”

“Some of the time you’ll have little squabbles but if you kick them around they’ll listen.”

“Akira, you really don’t look like a smoker.”

“Everyone has told me that.” He looked over at him. “Is that the real reason you came all the way out here? That one chick is closer then this little piece of heaven.” He had muttered out the last part and Zev couldn’t help but start to laugh. “What?”

“You. You’re getting your ass kicked around and you think it’s a living hell.”

“It is when your whole damn body is black and blue.” Zev grinned and grabbed Akira. “Oi! Put me down!”

“Nope I’ve decided your going to help me find that little girl’s mother.”

“Damn it Zev! I’ve got a lit cig in my hand!”

He walked out and found Cyan sitting at the table next to the small girl. “Hey.”

“Where’s the other two?”

“Daisuke got upset, and Flare is giving him a lecture. Why is Akira over your shoulder?”

“This is fucking against my will here!”

Zev jostled Akira and the male punched him in the back. The wolf just grinned, “We’re going to look for your mommy!”

“Really!? Thank you!”

Akira looked at the excited girl and gave a muttered curse. “Fine I’ll help.”

Cyan stood, “I’ll come along.”

“You almost ran away when that little girl rushed us!”

“Hey!”

“I’m going to find my mother!” Kaya was skipping around them.

“We need warmer cloths for her.” The brunette said and then he smirked as he roughly pinched Zev on the back of his neck.

“Ow!”

“Put me down!”

“Fine.” Zev placed him on the ground and Akira tossed the finished cigarette out the window.


Daisuke muttered as he pulled out an old box. “For being twelve you’re too tall.” Kaya’s head was right at Akira’s shoulder. “These should fit. My brother kept sending old clothes to me thinking Akira was still with me.” He stopped and looked at him. “If I had known, I would of tried to find you sooner.”

“The past is the past.”

The small girl looked in the box and was excited, “Wow, look at all of these clothes!” She pulled out a pair of pants and looked at them.

“Well let’s go. When you’re finished we’ll leave to find her.”

“Okay!”

Zev pulled Akira off to the side, “She’s got some human in her. I can’t tell if she was turned or was born that way.” Akira nodded and they walked out into the living area.

A few minutes later she walked out in a jacket, tee shirt and pants. The boots where big on her but she could walk in them. “I’m ready!”

“Let’s go.”

Kaya ran out the door, followed by Akira (still without a jacket), Zev, and Cyan. Cyan was bundled up and Zev had his jacket on. As they walked back up to the cliff she started to tell them what happened. “I was walking with mother when these people came out of nowhere and mother tried to get me somewhere safe. Once I was safe she led them another way and then I smelt this weird smell. For some reason afterwards I got upset and then I got really mad. After that I don’t remember.”

Zev stopped and the others kept walking, Akira looked back. He stopped when he saw Zev standing there. “Zev?”

“Akira.” The wolf placed his hand on his shoulder. “If I lose myself,” He pulled something out of his pocket, “I want you to do it.” Then he placed it in Akira’s hand.

Akira stared at the folded pocket knife, his blood ran cold and he looked at Zev. “I…”

“If it’s what I think it is, only you can stop me.”

“I won’t…”

“Please Akira; I don’t want to hurt anyone.” ‘I don’t want to hurt you!’

He steeled himself and replied his voice as cold as the snow around them. “Fine.” The brunette turned and walked off, Zev whimpered and followed after.

‘I’m sorry Akira.’

Hmmm, well I better plan out the next move carefully, two more months for Akira. I was reading some of my chapters to get some ideas and found I made a fluke. I had Marianela calling Akira by his real name and not by Yuki. Heh… that’s what I get for playing games and then typing right after. Yes I stopped it short with Keir and Rune, you will see why soon. Tell me what you think.
