chapter sixteen

“Our house?” Thia asked as she looked up at the big old house. It wasn’t old as in, in bad condition but the style itself was old. The gates weren’t so big but looked so old, it was a Victorian house and it reminded her of… “It looks so much like the one we’re staying in.” She said as she walked to stand next to him, she still found it hard to call it ‘my grandma’s house’

“Yes, that’s why we bought it,” he smiled at her “come on let’s go.” He took her hand in his and walked slowly and entered through the gates.

Thia found it hard to walk on the ground as it had a lot of stones everywhere “Shane, why did we leave the car outside?” she asked looking at the side of his face, he looked happy, exciting and she wondered why?

“Close your eyes.” He said stopping to look at her.

“Close…close my eyes?” She asked not quite sure what his plane was.

“Yes, close your eyes”

“But Shane I can hardly walk, I’ll probably….” She wasn’t able to continue her words as he lifted her up as if she weighted nothing “Shane!!”

“Just close your eyes Thia.” He said apparently laughing but she couldn’t quite tell as it was dark.

She sighed then took one last look around her and closed her eyes “Okay, what now?” she asked as she felt him starting to walk again.

“You’ll see, just keep your eyes shut.”

“But you won’t be able to open the door,”

“Who said I’m going to open any doors?” He asked and his voice was no more than a whisper.

“What do you mean?”

He didn’t reply and even though her eyes were shut, she could tell there were lights now. Shane carefully put her down but kept her hands in his “Don’t open your eyes.”

He let go of her and walked away “Hey Shane where are you going?”

“No where, just wait here please, don’t move.” She could hear him approach with every word. He moved behind her and she felt something so soft on her face.

“Wha…”

“That’s so I can be sure you’re not peaking” he said as he tied the piece of cloth behind her head, covering her eyes completely.

“Shane, you are starting to scare me you know that!” she said with a smile. Of course she wasn’t scared; she was never scared around him. He’d always made her feel safe ‘wait a second! How do I know that?’ she wondered silently. She smiled to herself ‘at least I remembered something good.’

“Scare you?” he asked from somewhere far away.

“Yes, where are you?” she asked stretching out her arms, trying to reach him “ouch,” she winced as she hit what seemed like a table.

“Thia I asked you not to move, oh you’ve always been impatient.” He said and seemed to notice what the last comment meant but he didn’t apologize like the other time. Instead he held her arm and ushered her forward.

“Okay, now slowly sit down.”

“You sure?”

He laughed a little “Yeah Thia, I’m sure.”

She slowly sat down just like he told her “Don’t tell me you’re going to leave again.”

“I’m not leaving again, besides I didn’t leave before,” She heard him go away again. She sighed and tried to rest her elbows on the table in front if her but Shane quickly shouted “Don’t!”

“Oh Shane, come on. What are you doing?”

He didn’t answer this time “Shane!” still there was no respond. She turned her head left and right as if looking for him and called again “Shane!”

Thia felt a hand on her shoulders, pulling her up “You are one impatient young lady and I don’t know what to do with you.” He whispered in her ears as he took off the blindfold.

The first thing Thia saw was dark eyes “You scared me.”

“I’m sorry,” he leaned to place a kiss on her lips and quickly stepped back.

Thia’s eyes widened and she couldn’t believe her eyes. They were at what seemed like the backyard of the house but calling this beautiful garden a backyard was kind of insulting. The garden was big, big enough to contain circled pergola made of old stones, it looked as if it just came out of an old legend. The columns of it were surrounded by white silk and white flowers were thrown on the ground, candles were on the ground surrounding the table she was sitting at it a while ago. Even the chairs were wrapped up in white silk. She felt as if she was in a dream.

“Oh Shane…” She whispered weakly.

“You like it?” He asked from behind her, his voice deep and husky as he spoke in her ears sending a shiver down her spine. Thia could only nod her head, afraid that if she spoke she might wake up and find out it was all a dream.

Shane put his hands on her shoulders and turned her to face him “Thia…” he started into her eyes for what seemed like forever “there’s something I want to tell you.”

“Yes.”

Shane took a deep breath ‘this is not going to be easy I know it’ he thought as he stared into her blue eyes “Thia I’ve loved you so much four years ago, I know I might have hated the fact that you left me but never did I hate you. I admit I was hurt, hurt badly when you left, but I… I didn’t stop loving you. Not back then, not now. I still love you,”

“No Shane, you love Sam.” She said sadly.

“I loved Sam, I still do and I love you. You’re still the same, cute, lovely, beautiful girl I fell in love before. Maybe you’ve changed a bit but everything I love about you is still there,” he took her hands and raised them to his lips “I love you. Whether you’re Thia or Sam, and I want you to stay with me, please.”

Thia didn’t know what to do ‘I love him too, I know it. But how can I throw the past behind and continue without knowing what really happened?’ she knew that once she agreed to what Shane wanted she’d forget everything about the past ‘do I want this? Is it worth it? Is he worth it?’ she asked herself all these questions and couldn’t find an answer to any of them.

“I see. Its okay I understand. I’m probably not worth it. I lost you two years ago why would anything change now?” Shane took a step backwards “If you want to go home now…”

“Home? Which one?”

“As you like, I’ll take you back to you’re grandma’s place, you can get your things and…..”

Thia stepped closer to him and put a finger on his lips, she knew now the answer to her questions was yes, yes and yes; he was worth it, the whole thing was worth it. The love she could see in his eyes was worth anything ‘I’m not going to go back to my boring life, to a future without past, I’m not going to do that’ she knew that what she was going to do was the right thing.

“This is home.” She cupped his face in her hands “maybe I don’t remember my past, I don’t remember your love, but one thing I’m sure of Shane, I know I loved you so much and…” she blushed “I love you now. If there was anyone in this relationship that wasn’t worth it, it was me!” she felt tears gather in her eyes “I left you Shane, I left this…” she opened her arms to include everything. She then put her hands on his chest “I left you and me! I don’t know why, I’d do anything to know why, but I can’t do anything about it. And I’m not going to leave you again because of a mistake happened two years ago that even I don’t remember.”

“Wh- what do you mean?” He asked and she could feel him tremble under her touch.

“I mean that I’ll stay with you, I’m not letting go again Shane.” She smiled.

Shane kissed her softly at the beginning, feeling how her body melted because of his kiss. Shane slowly lifted his head to look at her “Ah- you hungry?” he asked grinning.

“I don’t think so,” she said pulling him again for another kiss.

“I think we should get inside,” He whispered in her hair as he started kissing his way from her lips down to her neck.

She nodded her head slowly. Completely lost in this sensation Thia felt him lift her up in his arms and walk inside the house. She didn’t try to look around her as she was busy kissing Shane’s lips, neck, and biting softly at his earlobe. Shane went up the stairs and forced one of the doors open with his feet.

“Just wondering,” she managed to say between kisses “when did you do all of this?”

He put her down on the bed and looked at her for a moment “God you look so beautiful,” he took of his jacket and a moment later his dress shirt followed.

She giggled a little “you didn’t answer my question.”

Shane climbed next to her in bed after he was almost naked “You are asking a lot of questions you know that?” he kissed her eyes “well, I did that today, but before you start your next question I didn’t do it alone. I sort of asked someone to help me,” he was trying to find a way to get her out of her dress but it seemed almost impossible “how did you wear this thing?” he asked impatiently.

“Oh, you don’t like my dress?” she pouted pulling back from his arms and trying to get off the bed.

“What? Where are you going?”

Thia didn’t respond, she just slowly grabbed the end of her dress and carefully pulled it over her head “see,”

“Oh, that was a lot….” Shane watched as her dressed was thrown right on top of his clothes on the floor. But what made his words fade from his mind was what he’d seen Thia wearing; black satin bra and its matching panties made her white pale skin glow in the moon light, as non of them tried to switch on the lights it was almost dark inside the room, but he could see her, could see how beautiful she looked.

She seductively walked to the bed and stood in front of him ‘I can’t believe I’m doing that’ she thought for a second but as soon as the words passed her mind Shane’s hands pulled her down on the bed as he placed himself on top of her.

“God I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long!” He mumbled against her skin as his hands traced the sides of her body, leaving each part on fire.

Thia could feel him tremble and she knew she too was trembling but tried so hard not to show it. Shane slowly removed her bra and last piece of cloth she was wearing “Thia I…”

“Shh, it’s okay,” she knew he was afraid that he might hurt her but she wanted nothing in this world right now than to feel him as close as possible.

He rose on one elbow and looked deep into her eyes as he pushed inside her in one deep thrust. Shane kept looking at her, watching every emotion that come across her face; anticipation, then pain and he hated himself for it, but then finally she relaxed under him, throwing her hands around his shoulders.

Shane went still, not taking his eyes of her face. She looked so beautiful and he wanted to savor this moment and cherish it forever. He kissed her forehead, then her closed eyes and waited for her to say anything.

“Shane,” she whispered and opened her eyes, and he was lost in them “you can…. You know.” She smiled weakly and he knew she was still in pain.

“I’m sorry I know it…”

“Not anymore,” Shane heard her and knew he wouldn’t be able to hold back any longer. So he moved and it felt like heaven to him.

Thia closed her eyes again and let go completely to the feeling of his skin on hers’. Moments later she could feel something build inside her, she felt him tense too and then as if everything inside her exploded, she came for the first time for the only man she knew she’d ever love.
