Tribe

Sick, so very sick. Thus, this is so very short. So, read this while I head off to bed.

Read, Review and Enjoy

He was just leaving a meeting with Galt, trying to explain to the fucking moron to keep his nose out of the program, when Souse caught him. Mik made a sound at the back of his throat and opened his file, walking and expecting that Souse would keep up with him. Looking at the file, Mik wasn’t paying attention. He should have known better.

He ran straight into Souse.

When a Sidhe wanted to be acknowledged, he had a strange way of making himself known and understood. Like. Slipping down a hallway silently and becoming a brick wall.

Mik caught the file a moment after it flew out of his hand, and closed it very carefully. He looked up at Souse and put on his best, ‘I’m only humouring you’ look.

“Yes, Souse?”

“You have not been one with the tribe.”

“…” Mik blinked, registering the comment after a moment, “I’ve been busty, I have one more meeting today and then I can come see the tribe.”

“To be tribe is to be always tribe. Not sometimes tribe.”

“Souse-”

“Mik,” with just enough tone to remind him who was dominant.

Mik suppressed the shiver and lowered his eyes submissively, unconsciously. A moment later he sighed, realising exactly what Souse had done yet at the same time, understanding why the Sidhe had done it. But he had to make the meeting.

“Souse. This is a very important meeting, I have to go to it.”

“If the tribe is not there, then it is not an important meeting and thus, you do not need to go.”

“It’s the laws of Sidhe rights in Norash. If I’m not there to represent the Sidhe, then-”

“Sidhe obey no man’s law. We are not you, you are not us. We do not burn your cities down, you don’t burn our cities down and no one touches children or they die slowly and painfully. Tribe not there, not important.”

“But… Galt wants to bring in laws that allow the military to use the Sidhe powers, a payment for having saved you from your lives of servitude and destruction.”

“Tribe. Mik.”

Leave it to Sidhe to deal with Galt? With the law? Mik really didn’t want to leave it to the Sidhe, leave the Sidhe to defending themselves. But then again… it wasn’t like the Sidhe would give him much of a choice. Mik sighed out loudly, making certain Souse knew that he wasn’t happy about it.

“Fine. Tribe.”

Souse bore his teeth at Mik, “back to the apartment.”

“Alright. And then what?”

Souse made a non-committal sound and turned towards the elevator.

“And then what?”
