Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Kelly was being a tease.
Marcus was so stunned when he saw his twin across the ballroom that he actually walking into one of the stone columns. His sister was wearing a beautiful black dress that accentuated both her small bust and long legs as she smiled and talked to the older members of the board, but it was the leather cuff bracelets and matching leather choker that sent his imagination into overload.
He saw Kelly in a corset and sheer panties, with chains attached to the cuffs and collar to hold her against a wall. He imagined how she would look at him with a tear-streaked face, but her desperate pleading would not be for release. She would beg him to touch her, to unlace the corset and remove the panties until she was bare before him.
“If I’m not allowed to have Alyssa hand all over me at these things, you certainly cannot stare at your sister that way,” James said, drawing him out of his daydream.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Marcus replied, averting his gaze and grabbing a glass of wine from a passing server.
“Of course not,” James said with a shrug and one of his customary smiles. Since the night at the Norrington, his friend seemed back to his usual self. He leaned forward and whispered into Marcus’ ear. “Just so you know, she’s not mad at me, but she’s beyond pissed with you.”
“That was the plan,” Marcus replied in an equally low voice.
James let out a heavy sigh and shook his head before smiling again as his parents waved him over to meet one of their associates. Marcus watched him go and returned his gaze to his twin, watching as she disengaged herself from the group she was talking to and moving to speak with a collection of politicians wives seated near one of the garden windows.
Marcus moved to intercept her, and Kelly’s face contorted into an absolute scowl when she saw him. She attempted to walk away, moving through the crowd in the hopes someone would stop him to talk. With her hobble she could not move quickly enough, and Marcus was quite good at politely putting off anyone that spoke to him. He easily caught up with his twin and corralled her into a mostly empty corner of the ballroom where the servants entered from the kitchen.
“You don’t seem happy to see your me, Kelly. Pretty cold greeting for your twin,” he said with a smile meant to be both charming and cruel.
“Don’t touch me. We’re in a public place and I will scream,” Kelly said, looking over her shoulder at the ballroom to find the closest person she could call for.
“I won’t touch you,” Marcus assured you, moving so that she could walk past him and rejoin the crowd at any time. “I just wanted to be sure you received mine and Jasmine’s latest movie. I’m quite proud of it. We even had a guest star.”
Kelly pursed her lips and glared at her brother.
“Did you watch the entire thing?” he asked, leaning in only so much that a passerby would think he was giving his twin a bit of advice or gossip. “I know you did. You probably couldn’t look away as she displayed herself for James. Did it make you wet? Were you touching yourself by the end? I bet you were imagining what it would be like to be fucked like that, to be filled so completely. I could make it reality if you desired.”
His sister narrowed her eyes and turned toward him with a look of such disgust is surprised him. “You would never allow another man to touch me. Even James.”
Marcus leaned away and regarded his sister for a moment. It was very true that he would make any man that dared to defile his sister disappear, as he had with Hayden, but she was not suppose to know that. She turned and faced him, so that her back was to the crowded ballroom and gave him a look that way angry, intent, desperate, and confused all in one. It was divine.
“I didn’t do anything to provoke you this time,” she hissed, reaching out and lightly shoving him in the chest. The servants exiting the kitchen cast them glances and wisely kept walking. “You told me I was a good girl last time! Why would you do that if I’d made you happy?”
“For the lovely distressed face you’re making now and those tears threatening to fall at any moment,” Marcus answered without missing a beat as he reached out and brushed his thumb over Kelly’s cheek. “And because you had the audacity to avoid me.”
Kelly stared at him for a moment and then swallowed hard. “I didn’t want to do this,” she mumbled, slapping his hand away as she turned and walked back to the party leaning heavily on her cane.
His sister spent the rest of the evening expertly avoiding him, though she clumsily danced two slow songs with James and spent the better part of dinner talking to Alyssa. Even when they were forced to share a limo home she steadfastly ignored his presence, preferring to stare out the window. With their father also in the car, there was little Marcus could do to correct the slight.
He ended up staying late at the mansion to discuss business with the old man, and was about to retire to his old bedroom when he found Kelly down in the kitchen making a cup of hot chocolate. He thought she might, which was why he took the route to his room.
“There are servants to do that,” he reminded her as he stepped into the kitchen.
She looked over at him and then back to the mug she was mixing. “Try anything and I will scream loud enough even father will wake up,” she said warningly as she put the cup into the microwave and turned it on.
Marcus felt his lips twist in annoyance as he waited until the microwave beeped and walked over and took out the chocolate and drank it. It was petty, but with the old man in the mansion there was not much else he could do.
“You always do that,” Kelly said softly.
“Then you should have learned to expect it,” Marcus replied in a snappish tone as he thumped the mug down on the counter. He was annoyed with the attitude his twin was giving him. He expected more of a reaction after she saw what he had done to Jasmine.
“I have,” Kelly said, giving him a look full of sadness. “I’m really not as stupid as you think I am.”
Marcus opened his mouth to inform his sister that it wasn’t that he thought she was an idiot, it was merely the way she acted, but then the world fuzzed and spun around him he stumbled backward to grip the counter for support. He looked up and found all the color from the world fading as Kelly looked at him, then the floor rushed up toward his face, and then there was nothing but darkness.
