Chapter 15

AN: Hey, my lovely readers. I'm sorry about another short chapter. This is the last of my premade ones, and depending on how things go this week, it may be two more weeks before I really get to concentrate on pleasure writing. Three papers, four finals, and a broken computer. Yeah, life sucks around finals. Not to mention searching for a new job. -sigh- Well, anyways, THANKS FOR THE REVIEWS!!!!!!!!

Reviews:

Kolgrim: Aww, I love it when that happens. I'm hoping to get around to longer chapters, I hate how short these are, unfortunately, I'm not longer able to spend a lot of time on the computer because my computer won't charge right. -sigh- And it may change, I happen to enjoy drama. But, I'm actually letting it go at it's own pace.
Fly: Thanks!
Steph: Sorry, no kinkyness in this chapter. Eventually there will be some, I promise. No idea how soon it'll be.
Aliases: Aww, thanks!I'm so glad you like it, I love hearing positive reviews. ^_^ Keep reading!

And everyone, keep reviewing!

When I emerged, he was asleep so I simply slid in with him, cuddling up and sleeping comfortably beside him. I was shaken awake a few hours later. Glancing up, I noted Rae’s wet hair and the fact that he was dressed. “Put something… provocative on,” he murmured softly, “First we’re going to go to my place, then dinner for you, and finally a surprise.” He grinned at me as I climbed from the bed, pulling on an outfit I had hidden from my mother—I had worn it on other dates with Azrael.

He stalked over, sliding his arms about my waist, resting on my hip bones and growling in appreciation. “I miss clothes like this, babe. How much longer til you move out?” I laughed, leaning against my boyfriend for a moment before admitting, “I’ve missed them too; I like feeling sexy every once in a while.”

Azrael leaned forward, whispering, “you always look sexy to me, beautiful.” I could not help but flush as he pulled away, putting his trench around me. “As much as I’d love to see you like that, most people at the restaurant and Victor, shouldn’t, so wear it until my surprise.” I nodded, pulling it on, even though it was much too long, and then leading Rae out of the house, locking it behind us.

We walked towards his house, hands interlaced. Once home, he changed quickly, wearing a tight, revealing outfit much like my own. He pulled on a second trench coat—how many of those did he have?—and we headed out.

The restaurant was not terribly fancy, but it was certainly better than anything my mom and I could afford. After dinner, he told me to close my eyes and trust him. I did, of course. He led me through the town and as we slowed, I heard pound music. He pulled away, whispering for me to wait for a moment. I waited obediently, eyes shut tightly until his arm wrapped about my waist and his lips pressed against my ears. “Come on, babe, I’ve already paid,” he informed me, guiding me up some steps and into a noisy, stuffy room. He told me I could open my eyes, so I did.

The club was dark and unfamiliar. Many people were dancing, and a few were at the bar. I had been to several clubs with my lover, but this was a new one. With his hand resting on the small of my back, he guided me past the dance floor and into a private room. I glanced about the fairly lavish room, surprised to find a bottle of alcohol waiting.

The place was full, with the exception of the room we were in. “Love… how’d you score this place?” I asked curiously. I knew my boyfriend had money, but he rarely splurged and it had to have cost a lot to get a room like this. However, I rather wanted to dance, and I said as much. He chuckled, “We can go dancing in a few minutes, Lucas, but first I want my drink.” I blinked, “Drink?” I had not noticed him getting anything to drink.

I shrugged, reaching over to grab the bottle of tequila for myself since I doubted Azrael could even drink it. If he was having a drink, than I might as well. I found a small glass, lime slices and salt beside it and poured a shot. I rarely drank, but I knew how. I downed it, laughing at the look I got. “I’m not completely innocent, you know. So, what are you drinking?” Rae smirked, arching an eyebrow, “Bloody Mary. Lots of blood.” He chuckled, closing his eyes and settling back. “They serve blood here? How… how many vampires come here?” He shrugged, amused by my disbelief.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Azrael’s POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was amused by his question. To be honest, nearly half the beings in the club were vampires, and most of the mortals there knew they were vampires. What my lover did not know was that his club, Buena Noche, was one of several lucrative businesses that I owned. Then again, most of the employees did not know, few had ever seen me in that role. The room had been paid for, but the money would eventually get back to me anyway. I was glad to see that the club was thriving, and that the place still served blood. I needed it pretty badly, I had not fed that night, and I felt tired and a little sluggish—I disliked the feeling—especially since I wanted to enjoy my light with my lover.
Soon enough, there was a knock. I answered it, taking the dark liquid from the server and downing it in the doorway. “One more,” I directed, “but I’ll be on the dance floor, so look for me there.” I turned to my angel, offering my hand. “Shall we dance, beloved?”
He grinned, shedding his coat and nodding happily. I removed my own as well, before leading him down to the dance floor with the mass of vampires and mortals. My hand slid protectively around Luc’s waist, leaning forward. “I may bite you… it’s a possessive thing. I promise I won’t take much. I just don’t want someone making an attempt to steal you.” He laughed, twisting in my arms. “Fine with me, as long as your body is pressed against mine and you dance with me.”
I smiled, sliding my hands down his side, “then dance, gorgeous.” I pecked his neck before beginning to move to the beat. One hand remained on Lucas’s hip, the other going over my head. Luc let his body grind against mine, turning back to face me. His arms went about my neck, hips pressed against my own. I leaned forward, pressing my lips to my lover’s. I was content to dance with the young mortal until I noticed Victor walk in, Olivia only a few steps behind.
I frowned; annoyed that she had quite possibly ruined the night. I could not risk her finding out about Lucas, it would put him at risk. I nipped his ear before completely pulling away. “Babe, head back up to the room,” I directed him over the crowd, waiting to see him disappointedly making his way through vampires and mortals alike. Once sure he had made it safely, I made my way over to the bar. I informed the man that was working to keep his eye on the pair. He hesitated but once he heard my name, he nodded in agreement.
I would need to know if they were making new contacts. I had not forgotten that meeting and what I had learned about the young female. Once satisfied that my request would be fulfilled, I took my second drink—remembered only once I had shown my face, so someone was in trouble. I headed to the room, my eyes narrowing at a vampire preparing to feed on a mortal against the door. The couple moved off and I slipped inside. “Babe, how’s it going,” I asked, seeing a pout on his lips.
“Why’d we have to stop?” he whined. I chuckled, moving to pull him up from the couch. “Because I wanted to dance in private,” I lied, pulling him close and holding him. The music was muted but it was enough to dance to. I leaned forward to give the other a deep, searing kiss.
