Chapter 15
“How can this be? How are you Metallic?”
“I was to guard Greenwich from all aggression, he had no idea I was his greatest threat.”
The female whimpered from the other side of the bed.
He watched the fear in her eyes throughout the imagined rape she acted out as she lay on the bed. Her mind could not tell the difference between real and fake. She should be grateful he had not damaged her more than he could have. He watched her shake with the fear from across the room. It was all real to her, humans were so weak.
He ended his telepathic offense and she lay there breathing heavy and moaning in pain. Greenwich moved towards the bed and stared down at the sweat covered face of the female. Fear showed on her face but the machine began to speak.
“Before there was Hammer there was me and only me.” The humanoid looked down into the eyes of the frightened woman and smiled. He then continued speaking.
~~~~~~~~~~~ Solar Prime-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“We have the greatest weapon ever created Greenwich.”
I remembered those words spoken by the other scientists and robotic engineers some twenty years prior. I humanoid 4589 called Mange was their choice to slaughter the humans on Earth. The reasons for the decision to destroy earth did not concern me; my programming did not allow emotion. I was only for violence.
No one questioned my constant appearance with Greenwich at every meeting. I committed to memory all of Greenwich’s mannerisms and personalities. He had many faults and was not a good leader.
Greenwich liked to bed as many women as possible. He especially liked the new cadets. They did not know of his abuse of his power. He made it hard for them to say no. Many had gone to his bed in tears. I made a note of how many he had raped over the years.
I did not concern myself with helping them that was not my programming I was for violence…until she came.
Bronwyn,
She was shy and reclusive. She was a beautiful female of African and Asian decent. I do not know what made me seek her attention but I did not care. She was different from the others; she looked at me not as a humanoid but as a being with thoughts and feelings. I had no emotions.
She had heard from the others what Greenwich had done to some of the cadets and stayed away. I watched her on several occasions run from the room when she knew Greenwich was approaching. It was comical as the humans liked to say.
I took the liberty of writing her work schedule and placing her at opposite ends of the ship when Greenwich was about. She never questioned who had done this but I know she knew it was I.
“Why do you follow me?” I watched the long, three-inch wide black braid sway from side to side, as she walked away from me.
She asked me one day as she walked towards the deserted cargo bay to check the holdings and secure them.I said nothing and continued to follow her.
“Did you have something to do with my orders to be here at this particular time Mange?”
Her dark brown eyes on honey colored skin stared up at him with innocence and confusion.
“The cargo needs to be checked before we leave the orbit of this moon.” My smooth voice dipped a few octaves I noticed when I talked to her. My voice was soft almost a caress.
“There are others to do this. I am a pilot.” Bronwyn waved her hand over the sensor and the doors opened. Mange followed her inside.
Bronwyn frowned when she saw all the heavy containers turned the wrong way. She grabbed the small scanner from the wall and walked over towards the first 500-pound container.
“I’ll be here forever.”
I moved towards the first container and effortlessly picked it up and turned it over. Bronwyn smiled at me and scanned the codes.
“I am beginning to think you did this to get me alone.” She scanned the thirtieth container with a smile plastered on her face.
I cocked my head to the side wondering about her thoughts. “What would I hope to gain by having you alone here?”
Her laughter ignited fire inside of my loins. The need to procreate had always been dormant in me until she came. Information for satisfying it flooded my hard drive and released the violence of my program.
Bronwyn continued to smile as she scanned the last of the containers. “Oh I don’t know…maybe to ravage me until I beg you to stop.”
Her laughter followed her words and echoed inside the cargo bay.I knew where ever camera lurked and shut them down as I moved towards her. Her laughter suddenly died as I towered over her.
“Would you like me to ravage you now Bronwyn?”
Her heart would explode from the suddenly rapid pace it was now beating. Her breathing quickened and her hands touched my chest as I forced her backwards. I lifted her from the ground and held her against the wall. When she felt, my hard body against hers, the vital moisture needed to mate, flowed from her womb and down the tightly sealed flesh that I would soon be the first to open. She turned her head away from my lips speaking my name in fear and excitement. She wanted me.
“Mange I need you in the computer lab.” Greenwich authoritative voice rang in the cargo bay.
His voice was annoying to me now.
The female in my arms trembled with need that I had to postpone for now. I set Bronwyn in a chair so she would not fall to the floor due to her weak legs. I kneeled before her moving a loose strand from her face.
“I will come to you tonight.”
Her eyes held fear and want as she stared at me panting for air. I slowly stood and walked from the cargo bay to see what my creator needed.
Dr. Hammel was the only one did not agree with the decision to destroy earth because they did not wish to continue the exploration into robotic development. Many on earth thought Greenwich was crazy and only wanted power and they were right. He wanted to control everything and with me to lead the robotic army they were developing, he would have what he desired.
You disagree with Mange’s programming Dr. Hammel?”
The dark haired engineer stared at the opposing shiny metallic humanoid standing beside Greenwich. I stared down at the doctor with contempt. He wanted to terminate me.
“He is defective and will turn on you because the wiring is incorrect.”
Greenwich chuckled. “All the other humanoids became violent two hours after they were operational. Mange has been operational for four years and has never exhibited the signs of the virus.”
Hammel frowned seeing the eyes of the humanoid glaring at him. “He has been programmed for war. He can hide things Greenwich. You must shut him down so that we can do a systems check.”
Greenwich frowned now. “He runs his own systems check.”
The leader of spectra walked towards the computer inside Hammel’s lab.“The other doctors tell me that you have created something inside your lab.”
Hammel continued to stare at the seven-foot tall humanoid. “I have created something better than Mange.”
He saw the anger on the Humanoid’s face when Greenwich made a sound that he was interested in seeing this creation.
“Such a creation is not possible.” Greenwich snorted admiring his humanoid.
Hammel smiled. “Only in your thinking, my creation needs no time to recharge. He is fully capable to repair himself and requires no human assistance.”
Greenwich smiled. “You have done this all own your own. I am impressed.”
Hammel continued to smile. “It has taken four years of my life to complete him.”
Greenwich looked around the lab. “Where is he?”
“He wanted to see the ship he will be back momentarily.”
I could feel Greenwich’s excitement building. Even though he hated Hammel, there was no one better than the Doctor when it came to Robotics. A feeling of hate and jealousy entered my body as Greenwich looked over the video chronicling the new humanoid’s development.
The door slid open as the seven-foot dark gray humanoid stood in the doorway. I knew then that Greenwich would replace me. As soon as the humanoid walked into the room, Greenwich made a beeline towards him. Hammel stopped him.
“That would not be wise. You should let him come to you or he will reject you and consider you an enemy.”
Greenwich smiled. “You perfected the perimeter technology.”
“Yes and he has improved it on his own. He does not like to be touched.” Hammel watched Mange staring at his replacement.
“What is his name?”
“My name is Hammer.”
The deep voice filled the large room. His dark blue eyes fixed on me.Greenwich looked over the dark gray body from a distance. Hammer refused to approach him.
“What a specimen he is.” The praise in his voice made anger flow in my circuits.
“Can he reproduce as the others?”
“Yes but he will only chose one mate. His seed contains a deadly concoction that only that female can absorb.”
Greenwich frowned. “Why have you done that we need an army.”
“He did that himself. His decision not to waste himself was his alone.”
Greenwich glared at the doctor. “I have no doubt that he was influenced by your thoughts.”
“I am his creator just as you are Mange’s creator. He will have some of my beliefs.”
Greenwich noticed the two Humanoids staring at each other. “What are they doing?”
Hammel looked from one to the other. “They are communicating in a language we can not decipher.”
We spoke no words just took a scan of each other. This Hammer was different he would be a problem if Greenwich did not want him. I had no way to destroy him. Greenwich moved closer towards Hammer ignoring the words of Hammel.
I debated whether I should let him feel the wrath of the new humanoid or not for a few seconds before the doors opened and Bronwyn walked in. She looked sad and when I saw Greenwich smile with that smile, I knew all too well…something snapped inside of me.
I saw Hammer’s face show intrigue when he felt the change in me when Greenwich approached Bronwyn who was now shedding tears.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Now~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Grey metallic man looked into the interested eyes of the female. “He intended to rape my Bronwyn that night.”
He walked towards the communicator. “Is my home near Captain?”
“Yes Greenwich, we will be there in two hours.”
The female in the bed trembled as the grey man turned from the wall and towards the bed.
“You did this for a woman?” Her voice was soft and full of fear when his metallic stare shined on her. Mange turned and walked from his sleeping quarters and into the viewing room.
The woman in the bed relaxed thinking she was safe now. If she could continue to get him to talk about his life, she would survive and leave here alive and report to those on earth of his plans. Her pain would not be in vain if she could keep him occupied and talking.
Mange watched the stars fly by and his need to feel Bronwyn in his arms increased. He was more than anxious to return to his home. What humans thought was human was not? If he could fool, the greatest Humanoid ever constructed. What chance did any other Humanoid or human have in discovering the truth about why Greenwich had to die? Once he led Hammer back to where it all began, he would know. He would see. He would understand the reasoning for all of this.
Mange began frowning hearing the female sighing in the other room. She thought she was safe. She was where she was never to venture. They were looking for something and found it. He would tell her what she came to get from him and when she thought, she was safe, he would kill her.
“How can this be? How are you Metallic?”
