Chapter Fifteen

Present

When the two rising stars finally showed up, Michelle Madison noticed the tension between the two straight away. She immediately took note of it. But after they got dressed to pose for the pictures, half of them in which they posed together, she also took note of how natural they seemed together. When he had to hold her from behind, with her leaning into him, it looked totally sexual and very realistic. Even if the script and/or directing are terrible, the new pair hitting the screen would still [undoubtedly] be interesting to watch. Even if it was only for a little while she jotted down.

She looked at them each individually. Under close scrutiny, she observed Sean. Sean Edwards. Hmm… The name rolled easily enough off the tongue. He definitely looked the part. Tall, dusty blonde and curly hair, electrifying blue eyes, and a certainly hot body. Could he act was the question.

Rosalyn Harris. Eh… It wasn’t a stage name, and didn’t sound like a famous person’s name, but who knew? She may change it eventually. Her name aside, Michelle thought that she had an alluring quality about her. She was tall, and graceful. Sexy too. Michelle also took note that as she posed for the photographer in the tiger suit and then in regular street clothes, her persona definitely changed. Hell, she was acting for the pictures. It was a good sign for the up and coming actress. She was a true professional.

Finally sitting down with the two actors, she mentally took note of how they were very much aware of each other, but seemed to be distant towards one another. A lover’s quarrel, perhaps?

‘God, why’d the reported have to look like that?’ Rosalyn thought ruefully as she looked at the exotic looking and very much attractive woman’s form fitting white suit, partially exposing her more than likely Victoria’s Secret bra and huge bosom. Sean, trying to avoid as much eye contact with Rosalyn, kept his eyes focused on Michelle. It seemed as if he were interested in the woman. He gave her smile as he said hello, and Rosalyn, saying hello as well, tried desperately to not roll her eyes.

“You two look like you have amazing chemistry. Have known each other in the past?” That was her first question.

“No, but we have gotten to know each other, because as actors, we have to be comfortable with each other on screen.” Sean said with a polite smile. Rosalyn wasn’t sure what to think of that statement.

“Are either of you in a relationship?”

“Nope. There’s no one special in my life at the moment.” Rosalyn said with a little laugh.

“No special ladies for me either.” Sean said coolly. Fifteen excruciating minutes later, and the interview was over. After polite goodbyes were given to Michelle, Sean desperately wanted a cigarette. Instead, he had to prepare for a scene.

“Rosalyn, sweetheart. Trust me, I do understand that this show may make you into a beloved star. But until then, you are just Rosalyn Harris, so when I tell you to be here at a certain time, you damn well better make sure you’re early!” Mario yelled with a huff. Then he made his way over to Sean.

“I don’t know if you noticed, but I can’t exactly film my ‘vision’ if the two main characters aren’t here! This isn’t a fucking hobby! This is work, people!” Feeling better after holding in his rant for what he felt was entirely too long, Mario, in a much calmer mood, went to sit in his director’s chair as the crew changed the set. Sean made a “Pfft” noise with a shrug of his shoulders behind Mario. Rosalyn couldn’t help but giggle a little. She [guiltily] abruptly turned around when he looked at her. She left for makeup. Sean really wanted a fucking cigarette.

By the time their lunch break came around, Rosalyn, in a very shy manner, walked over to Sean. Eyes looking left to right, anywhere pretty much but at him, she hurriedly handed him a bottle- of Gatorade.

“You got me…” He started off quietly. It was more or less an insignificant object of drink, but the meaning behind it…

“Well, I went to get myself one too. And besides, I was wondering if you were going to take me home?” He scoffed at her.

“Yea. Should’ve known it was something. Thanks for pretending to be nice.” She looked indignant. He tried to mask his hurt with slight anger.

“I was trying to be nice. Besides, you did get me cappuccino today. I didn’t have to get you anything.”

“Yea, I know. Of course I’ll take you home. You really didn’t have to ask, you know?”

”Well, I just wanted to be sure.” She said before walking away. After a long, strenuous day of fighting stunts against her “enemies” and “passionate” kisses with Sean, Rosalyn was very much ready to go home and go to sleep. She didn’t want to think about the fact that this time around, Sean actually did perform stage kisses only. She felt utterly embarrassed when she tried to slip him the tongue in their first scene for the day. Well, horrified was more like it. But no one else noticed but him. All he said was, “Professionalism, right?” She nodded uneasily. It was like a harsh smack in the face.

They rode in the car in uneasy silence. Even the obnoxious DJ on the radio couldn’t fill the void. Finally, he pulled up in front of her apartment building. They sat there for several seconds. Sean waited for her to get out of the car. Rosalyn waited for him to say something. When it was obvious he wasn’t, she turned off the radio and asked, “Are you at least going to look at me? Say goodbye? Something?” He groaned, and rested his forehead on the steering wheel.

“What difference does it make? I get it, alright? We’re two people who work to together. That’s all.” Him saying that… it felt awfully wrong to her. “If you hang onto the past, you die a little everyday.” She remembered.

“No. You’re wrong. I was wrong. That’s not all.” He turned his head and looked at her. She turned her body towards him, leaning on the arm rest.

“Sean, I never forgot about you, you know? That day when we broke up, I swear, it was the worst day of my life.”

“Mine too.” He mumbled.

“I thought I was going to die.”

“I wanted to.”

“I must’ve lost like 15 pounds, then gained it right back and then some.” She said with a watery smile.

“I was so depressed. I didn’t want to do anything; didn’t wanna see anyone.” She lightly caressed his cheek. He lifted his head up and looked deeply into her eyes.

“I\'m afraid. I’m afraid because, I never want to feel that way again. You have to promise me that you won’t hurt me like that again. Don’t do something because you think it’s for my own good. I can make my own decisions.”

“I know that, Ros. It’s just that… at the time, I-“ She placed her index finger over his lips, making a “shh” sound.

“Just kiss me. Just kiss me.” She whispered. And he did. Long and hard.

a/n: I suppose I can continue this scene, which would ultimately be a sex scene, but only if you ask me to… Oh, and no, it’s not gonna get easier for them; not just yet. And yes, I will get to when they broke up. But it’s just gonna be so sad…
