Epilogue
Pain wracked my body, and I arched off the bed, screaming and clutching at the hands offered me. Mourn, Liam and Gabriel were all there, along with the midwife and her helper. Once the contraction passed and the pain faded, I slumped against the bed. One of the boys wiped the sweat off my brow with a cloth. Someone mummured to me in what I now knew to be draconic, and another rmummured to me in fey, both of which I could now fluently speak.
Another contraction hit, and I grasped the offered hand, trying to bite back the scream of pain building in me. I gave in and howled, in the worst pain of my life. The pregnancy had been hard, but not as hard as this was.
\"On the next contraction, honey, I want you to push.\"
\"I...I don\'t know if I can.\"
The midwife stroked my belly. \"You have to honey.\"
Another contraction hit, and I sat up, with the help of my boys, and screamed again.
\"Push, honey, push!\"
I screamed and pushed, feeling all the while like I was going to pop.
\"That\'s good, keep pushing...there we go. A girl!\"
Tiny cries filled the air as I lay back down, exausted. Still, I found the strength to smile up at the three f pee peering down at me, worried. I patted each one. \"I\'m fine. Really \ \"Would you like to hold your baby, princess?\"
Mourn and Liam helped prop me up with pillows as Gabriel took his daughter, smiling and cooing at her. Once I was propped up, I held out my arms. Gabriel laid her gently in them.
\"She\'s so beautiful.\" I laughed and kissed her forehead. \"Hello, baby girl. You are just so precious.\"
\"What will you name her?\"
I paused, smiling at my baby, my very first baby, before looking up at Gabriel, who had asked. \"Judith, after my mother.\"
Gabriel offered one finer, which baby judith gripped. \"Heh. She\'s got quite the grip, doesn\'t she? Sucha beautiful baby dragon. She has your red hair.\"
I looked down into Judith\'s peridot green eyes and laughed. \"And she\'ll have your eyes. They\'re blue right now, but I know they\'ll change to green.\" I looked up at Gabriel and smiled at him, before looking back at Judith. \"You will make a fine queen someday, Judith. I know you will.\"
