Rent

Okay guys I can't tell you how sorry I am for not finishing this chapter earlier. I had this major writer's block and I just couldn't figure out what to do with this chapter, mainly the second part because this will continue in the next part. The next part is already written so don't worry you guys won't have to wait forever! I've also got a good number of chapters to come almost ready. I'll try really hard to never do something like that ever again. I have trouble writing during the summer I find because of work.

I also moved into this new place and I had a hard time getting used to it, but now it seems like it's going okay and I started to write again. Along with that fact that this story is getting more and more fun to write in the next chapters. Furthermore, to break my block I wrote a little one-shot, one that me and my friend came up with. You see his favourite character is Abe Hibari so he coaxed me into writing something that would happen between these two. If you feel like it I'll be glad if you read it, I like out it came out. They would make a hot couple. Now this fic is completely alternate, there's really nothing between the two in the original story line!

Now to answer the reviews:

kylee: Okay, you are way to happy that Chantal left! Thankfully you won`t get to see her again for quote a while. I also think Kuro felt hurt when he would see the two of them together, not that he would admit anything. I was distant because I had a headache was the best excuse he could come up with when Yuuri asked him if something was bothering him! Now I`m really sorry it took that long for me to update, I had the biggest writers block for this chapter but don`t worry the next few chapters are all falling into place so there shouldn`t be that kind of gap anymore. And you guest it, Yuuri ran away because of the denial and I had to chase him down before I could post the next chapter, really, I don`t know what I`m going to do with that little delinquent. There`s also a possibility that he might have been embarrassed about the little one shot I posted recently involving him and a certain student council member!

Lisa: Thank you for your help again, I changed some of the stuff that was awkward but I kept when Santa called him 'Yuukun' cause I think it looks cute and I wrote it like that in previous chapter and about Kuro being out of character well, it would be no fun if I just went right out and told you why!

BRM: I still love your comments, makes me laugh every time. You said that these two will make such a cute couple and I've written some of the later stuff and I've planned some of it and God! are they just cute as a couple! And I also really like Chantal, I feel like I didn't make her too annoying, or else I couldn't live with myself.

lividfire: I was glad when I read your comment and it said that this story was a treasure, I swear t made my day. Thank you!

Takumi Fujiwara: Well, thanks for reading, I've emailed you.

Finally; after all that time- Chapter 14

It’s the last day before the Christmas holidays, so the teacher doesn’t really have anything for us to do. We’ve just been lounging around in the history class, chatting light-heartedly with our teacher. I’ve leaned back in my seat with my feet propped up on my desk, half listening to what was going on.

Kuro sat beside me with a steel box sitting on his desk, the box was decorated with a little Santa. He rummaged through it for a moment before taking out a piece of caramel coloured candy. He popped it into his mouth and sucked on it for a while. He seemed delighted, well, as delighted as his emotionless face can be, so I assumed it was to his taste, it got me a little curious though.

“What cha eating, Kowai Kao Kuro?” I asked, leaning in towards him in attempt to look inside the box.

“It’s a gift from Hikari chan.” He said looking down at the box as well.

“Hikari chan?” I asked, my ears perked up at the name of a girl.

“Ohba senpai’s sister. She’s nice, she always offers me these candies, she knows their my favourite.” He said sucking on the sweet candy. I was tempted to ask if she was a potential girlfriend but I bit my tongue instead. I didn’t want to sound jealous or anything. “Do you want some?” He asked tilting the box my way. It was full of caramel coloured hard candies. I wasn’t sure whether I should try it or not, since I don’t really have a sweet tooth.

“They’re maple candy, Hikari chan made them.” He explained. After all the time I’ve been here I never got to taste maple syrup but I heard people here were going crazy over this stuff so I decide to at least give it a chance. The candies were obviously very stick since they were stuck together and you needed to break them apart.

“It’s pretty good actually.” I said while sucking on one. It wasn’t quite like any other sugar I had tasted and thank God it didn’t taste anything like chocolate!

“I have candy canes, if you like those better.” He said fishing out a handful of them out of his bag.

“Are you hiding a shit load of candies in your bag?” I asked in disbelief.

“But it’s the only time of the year I eat candies, so I might as well treat myself.” He said sheepishly.

“Don’t get to close to me with those!” I said ruffling his bang with a laugh. I stole a candy cane from his desk and leaned back into my chair.

The teacher was asking the class what we were going to do once high school was over. After all, we’re only about a year and a half away from graduation. I don’t know what they were all getting excited about.

“What about you Inoue?” The teacher asked. I smirked up at her.

“Did you really have to ask? I’ll ditch school as soon as I can.” I said crossing my hands at the back of my head. She shook her head at me. She must have known she was going to get an answer like that from me. I’ve got to keep up my delinquent image.

“No kidding though, I’ll work really hard.” I said with a wink.

“You’re going to go to university aren’t you Kuro kun?” She asked looking over to Kuro who was silently reading a book beside me.

“Of course that guy will; he’s a genius. He could do whatever the hell he wants.” I said pointing lazily at Kuro.

“I’m not going, I’m just going to work.” He shrugged it off.

“What?” I exclaimed almost falling off my chair. The teacher’s eyes widened and everyone turned our way. He looked up at me.

“What’s wrong with that? A lot of people don’t continue after high school.” he asked nonchalantly.

“But you’ve got the best grades in this whole damn school!” I exclaimed, slamming my fist down on my desk.

“Kuro kun, there’s so many more things that you could learn in university.” The teacher said. Kuro clenched his book slightly.

“I hate school; I just want to get it over with.” He said. I was shocked by that revelation. How could he say that? He’s always reading and studying so seriously. He can’t be doing all that for nothing!

“What the hell are you saying? If you really hated school that much you would have been done with it already!” I shouted standing up. This time he stood up as well; he looked up at me.

“It’s none of your business.” He said before he turned his back on me. I froze with shock. This time he actually walked out on me. I never expected him to react so strongly when he’s always so calm. What’s gotten into him all of a sudden?

“Fine do whatever the hell you want!” I shouted back at him just before he was out of sight. I still wasn’t quite sure what just happened. I haven’t shouted at him like that in a while. I thought we had finally made up. I’ve accepted him as a good friend and he never does anything to anger me, so we’ve been getting along just fine. However, when I heard him talk like that I couldn’t repress the rage that rose in me.

He’s not a bum like me. He’s smart and hard working so why wouldn’t he want to continue his studies? What made me even angrier was when he said he hated school. He always seemed to enjoy coming to school, there’s no way he would hate it. But why would he say that? The way he turned to me and said it was none of my business shocked me as well. This is not something he would say, that’s not the way he would act. Even after I had said horrible things to him, even after I had hit him; he never acted so cold. Something must be bothering him about this subject but why did he say it was none of my business? I thought we trusted each other.

“What the hell has gotten into him?” I spat angrily.

“I think it’s a touchy subject, don’t be too angry with him. He never told us either why he wouldn’t continue his studies.” Santa said sitting beside me.

“Che.” I crossed my arms, I was clearly fuming. But in fact, I was more concerned than angry. It just wasn’t Kuro’s style to react that way. For the rest of the day my mood was somewhat sour even though everybody else was jolly.

I looked outside the window of the café and sighed for what seemed like the thousandth time. I leaned against my broom for a moment. It was snowing again. When will this ever stop? It snowed yesterday, and the day before that too. If I were back in Japan I could tell myself it will be over soon but who am I kidding? This is Canada, it’s not even Christmas yet, so that means we still have another good three months of cold and snow!

I’m not too exited by the Christmas festivities. The only difference is that I have to work even more than usual. For a Christmas special, Ren decided to close the café at eight and the place was packed even more by the hyper, gift exchanging, fan girls than it usually was.

At least Junko and Yukari have toned down the teasing for the occasion. The two girls were actually very nice today. They were the only ones that paid more attention to me than the king. They even gave me a homemade scarf, which they both worked on. The scarf is obviously their first try at knitting, it didn’t look very nice and it seemed like they didn’t have enough wool so they used twelve different colours, but I still plan on wearing it. I might be a jerk half of the time but I’m not ungrateful. I didn’t receive a lot of things in my life so what I have I cherish.

I looked up at the clock; it’s almost nine and it will probably be past nine by the time I get out of here. We still have a few things to clean and to take care of and since I won’t see my friends for the Christmas break, I feel a little melancholy at the idea of leaving. I thank God I didn’t have to work at the restaurant tonight.

“Yuuri, are you done with the dusting?” Nomi asked coming up to me.

“Yep.” I said leaning the broom against the wall to remove my apron.

“Sakurai made pizzas, we’re celebrating the Christmas break , are you staying with us?” He asked with a bright smile.

“Coming right up.” I said smiling warmly back at the boy. I wasn’t planning on leaving so soon but now that Nomi asked me to stay I can’t possibly leave. It’s the first time I ever really get involved in school life, that’s one of the things that changed since I met with these people, but I like it. I like feeling like a normal teenager for once.

“Finally this day is over.” I said with a sigh, sitting down at one of the round tables where the others have gathered.

“I think it went pretty well for such a busy day,” Nomi said.

“Of course, I think my ears are bleeding from all the noise and I believe that since I started working here, the count of broken plates has increased to one hundred.” I said rubbing my tired eyes .

“I thought today was pretty fun.” Santa said brightly. He doesn’t usually work here but since today is our Christmas special, the student council came to help out. Abe is surprising good at handling the girls and Santa just has way too much fun. As for the king, he doesn’t mean to, but since he’s so dazzling he doubles the number of customers, thus this place turns into a living hell. But I smile at Santa.

“Yeah, you’re right, today was really fun. I never stayed in school long enough to participate in Christmas activities.” I said leaning back against the two back legs of the chair.

“So what made you decide not to be a punk anymore?” Abe asked kicking my chair purposely flipping me upside down. By the time I knew what was going on I found myself on my back.

“What the hell was that about?!”I shouted getting back on my feet faster than I got down. Since I didn’t find anything better to get revenge on Abe, without actually slamming my fist in his face, I removed my shoe. I was just about to throw it at him but he was quicker and grabbed my forearm. A mischievous smile appeared on his face.

“What the hell is that smile all about?” I barked angrily at him. His smile only widened.

“You and Namikaze are exactly the same.” He simply said.

“What?” I asked. “Don’t compare me to that creepy faced kid.” I said pointing at the redhead, who didn’t quite follow what was going on. He looked up and blinked in question when his name came up.

“You’re right; I don’t think anybody would have throwing a shoe at you as a first reflex.” Santa said with a laugh. Oddly enough Abe did get a shoe thrown at him from Kuro.

“Put your shoe back on Inoue, I’m sure Hibari didn’t mean that as an insult.” Kishimoto said wrapping a hand around my neck playfully.

“Get off.” I growled.

“Don’t be so cold buddy.” Kishimoto said grinning. I punched him in the shoulder.

“Yuuri kun, are you still fighting?” Ren asked coming over with an armful of glasses. The king was following him with a few bottles of soda.

“I swear I’m not the one that started it! Why am I always the one that gets caught?” I asked throwing my arms in the air in desperation.

“Don’t worry about it Yuukun, that’s how we like you.” Santa said grabbing me around the neck this time.

“Sit down, let’s eat, you guys have been having a hard day.” Ohba said urging us to sit around the table. Nomi went to the kitchen to help Sakurai get the pizzas. As expected, Sakurai’s food was delicious; everybody was chatting happily. This felt kind of pleasant.

“Inoue what are you going to do for Christmas?” Kishimoto asked suddenly. He sounded a little uncomfortable. I noticed the way they were looking at one another, as if they were debating whether or not they should ask the question.

“Nothing really, just staying at my place I guess.” I said between mouthfuls of food. I didn’t want to stop eating. I didn’t want them to think this was an awkward question. I wanted to remain unfazed, but I’m not like Kuro; I couldn’t stop my breath for hitching at the question. It’s not like I haven’t thought about it before. I won’t see them for two weeks, and I’ll be alone while they’re all celebrating with their families. A question like that just makes it more true. “I’ll just work more.” I added. That’s it, if I work instead it’ll just be like it was before I met them; I won’t miss anything.

“You won’t have that much time to work. You’re coming to my place to spend Christmas Eve, right?” Ohba said with one of his dazzling smiles.

“What?” I asked almost choking on my pizza.

“Don’t you remember? At the party last week, I asked you to come over for the Christmas holidays.” He said. I blinked in surprise. I do vaguely remember having this conversation with him. I told him I’d think about it.

“I never agreed to that.” I said turning my head away in embarrassment.

“Don’t be so embarrassed Yuuri kun, I told you it wouldn’t bother me.” He said truthfully.

“I guess since I don’t have anything better to do.” I finally said to him. It was a battle I lost before I even started. I can’t hide the fact that I’m looking forward to not having to stay alone at my place all that time. With Chantal gone also, I don’t even have her company.

“We’re going over to my grandparent’s place on Christmas Eve but we’re having a supper for Christmas Day, it’s a Saturday so you’ll come like usual right?” Nomi asked. I looked up at him this time.

“I’ll give you a ride to Kuro’s place,; you can go there directly from my place.” Ren said nonchalantly.

“From your place?” I asked in question.

“Yeah, at that party you said you’d be coming around lunchtime to my place for Christmas.” Ren said brightly.

“Wait, that never happened!” I exclaimed.

“Oh no, well I must have been really drunk and imagined that scene then. Too bad I already told my parents you were coming.” He said mischievously, I wanted to shout but I had to smile at this. I shook my head. I didn’t know what to say but I was happy.

“You can come to my place too for a few days; my dad took a liking to you; he said you’re funny.” Santa said.

“New Year’s Eve is at my place, you guys are all invited!” Kishimoto said cheerfully.

“You can come to my place the next day for dinner, Andrea’s looking forward to fighting with you again.” Sakurai added. I dropped my head in my lap. I was suddenly overwhelmed by the kindness of these people.

“Are you alright Yuuri?” Kuro asked quietly, putting his hand on my forearm. I looked up at him with a bright smile plastered on my face. If I hadn’t looked up in his eyes that day… I turned to the others.

“Thanks guys,” I said gratefully, my voice was heavy with emotion but for a moment I dropped the angry attitude. Most of them, except maybe Abe and Kuro, smiled at me.

“Is that what Christmas is all about?” Kishimoto asked. I had to nod at that. I was too happy to really think about a proper answer. I’m glad to have a place somewhere.

Consequently, on Friday evening, a pleasant smell filled my apartment as I waited for Ohba to come pick me up. He said he’d come around five so while I was waiting, I decided to cook a little something. It’s the least I can offer to his family for going out of their way to invite me over. Yesterday I ran all over the place to get gifts. Thankfully, I have worked long shifts lately so I can manage to afford it.

I bought sweets for Ohba and his sibling; I think he has a sister. I also bought a bottle of wine for his parents. I remember him mentioning that they were both guys, his real dad is a Japanese man named Ohba Kyoshi, his lover is a Quebecois man named Isaac Trembley. I’m not quite what happened to his mother but I think his parents are divorced.

When my tomato sauce is done cooking, I lay it over some eggplant that I put in a large container. I put some grated cheese on top. I’m not going to finish cooking it yet since I want it to be warm when we eat. I’ll finish it at Ohba’s place. I look up at the clock to see that I have only about half an hour left. I take a quick shower and dress into something passable.

At least I still have one pair of jeans that aren’t ripped. I bought them about a month ago with some surplus money I had accumulated, as well as a white dress shirt that I usually wear to work. I don’t look too bad in those, at least I won’t have Ohba’s parents believing I’m some kind of street punk, since they must be used to Tyler’s kingly gracefulness.
As expected the king was right on time, so I grabbed a bag and put in a set of spare clothes and my toothbrush plus the gifts and the food. Ohba made it very clear the other night that the supper would end very late and I would be almost forced to stay over for the night. By the time I was ready, the king was already at my door. He knocked loudly, yet somehow elegantly, to get my attention. I rushed to the door to open it.

“Sorry, you should have waited in the car.” I said putting on my boots in a hurry; it was hard to do since I have to lace them up.

“Nonsense Yuuri kun, I came to see if you needed help carrying anything.” He said bowing smoothly in a greeting. Same old king, he’s just as dazzling outside of school. I have trouble wrapping my mind around that attitude of his. I don’t know whether it’s an act or what, but he does seem really truthful.

“It’s alright, I only have a bag and this container.” I said pointing the silver container.

“Did you make that? It sure smells nice.” He said going over to grab it.

“Yeah, I thought I could help out a little since you’ll have an extra mouth to feed.” I explained.

“How thoughtful. You didn’t need to worry about that, we’re a small family so we always have a lot of leftovers.” Ohba said.

“No, it was my pleasure.” I said blushing slightly, I’m not used to being thoughtful of others so I’m a little flustered at the recognition. I grab my dark grey coat and slid it on. It’s the coat my aniki gave me a few Christmas’s ago, I always wear it during the holidays, especially here so I don’t get too lonely. It’s a long coat that goes down to my knees. It’s also the kind of coat that a yakuza would wear so it looks pretty badass. It even has my name embroidered in the back in gold kanji.

“Come on, my dad can’t wait to meet you.” He said leading me out of the house. We got into his black car and drove off. I didn’t have any trouble getting into friendly chit chat with him. In fact, he’s the only senior I don’t get in a fight with every five seconds. Ohba lives in a very nice place on the edge of town, all the houses in the neighbourhood looked nice. It seemed like a very safe place to raise children.

“We’re here dad.” The king called out when we got in. “Make yourself at home.” He said turning to me with a smile. As I removed my boots I contemplated how nice it felt in here. Around the corner I could see the living room; there was a Christmas tree in a corner and a fire in the fireplace. It’s so much warmer here than at my place. It also smells very nice; someone is probably working on a supper in the kitchen. A man suddenly came around another corner. I could tell he was a little older but with his small frame and young features he almost looked like a teenager.

“Welcome, I’m glad you could come. Tyler has been talking about you.” The man said with a gentle smile. He looked adorable with a spatula in his hand, his shoulder length light brown,( probably dyed), hair cupped his face perfectly and his almond shaped auburn eyes seemed to glimmer happily. He was dressed in a simple dark gray sweater and a pair of jeans and slippers. I would have never expected to hear what the king told me next.

“This is my dad, Ohba Kyoshi.” the king said, gesturing to his dad.

“Your dad? No offence but I could have sworn he was your brother or something.” I said, my eyes were wide in surprise.

“I’m not offended; it’s not the first time someone’s told me that. You’re Inoue Yuuri right?” He asked holding out his hand to me. I nodded.

“Nice to meet you Ohba san.” I said bowing formally. Then I held out my hand for him to shake.

“Please call me Kyoshi. I’ve been hanging out with French people too much so I’m not used to people using my last name.” He said gently. I nodded again.

“Come to the kitchen, you need to meet Isaac too.” Ohba said grabbing my arm and dragging me toward the kitchen. I assumed that the man cooking in the kitchen must have been Isaac. He was taller and bulkier than Kyoshi, the dark haired man sure looked his age but he had nice well defined features.

“Isaac, c’est lui mon ami Yuuri. (Isaac, that‘s my friend, Yuuri)” Ohba said in French.

“Oh, comment ca va, entre, vien t’assir! (Oh, how are you, come sit)” The man said cheerfully. I gave him a quizzical look since I didn’t quite get every word he said.He spoke fast and with a heavy Quebecois accent.

“Yuuri est seulement au Canada depuis deux ans, il ne parle pas tres bien le francais. (Yuuri has only been here for two year so he doesn‘t speak French too well)” Ohba said with a laugh.

“Oh, sorry Yuuri, I’m Isaac Trembley.” He said, this time in English so I could understand, but his words were shaky. I could tell he had trouble with the language.

“Non, non, francais correct, je me derange pas. (No, no, French fine, I‘m not bothering myself)” I stuttered in a very poor French.

“Don’t sweat it boy, I can manage in English just fine.” He said with a smile.

“Thanks.” I said nodding because I sure couldn’t manage French. I’m picking it up; I can understand it most of the time when it’s spoken, but there’s no way I can speak it back. “Here I made something to help with the supper.” I said handing my container to Isaac.

“You didn’t have to do that, but it’s great. What is it?” He asked.

“It’s eggplant casserole.” I said, one of the only dishes I can cook. “I also got these.” I said taking out the bottle of wine and the box of sweets.

“You really didn’t have to.” Kyoshi said.

“It’s alright, I’m very grateful for the offer, I would have stayed home alone if it weren’t for your invitation.” I said, scratching the back of my head nervously. Then another person came into the room, it was obviously Ohba’s sibling. Only a blind man would miss the resemblance. She’s his perfect mirror image. These two are undoubtedly twins. The only difference is that she is a little smaller, still very tall for a girl, and her ebony hair is longer. It goes to about to her waist. The other obvious difference was the lack of a smile on her face as she looked me over. She didn’t seem as cheerful as the king.

“You didn’t tell me you had a twin sister.” I observed, still dumbfound at the similarity between the two, both of them are inhumanly dazzling.

“I didn’t? I feel bad for not talking about my dear sister before.” He said dramatically almost sliding over to his sister’s side. “Meet my little sister Hikari.” He said proudly.

“Big sister, I was born first.” She said coldly. She is dressed completely in black in a gothic fashion, she seems to have the personality to go along with the style too. She held out her hand anyway. As I shook it, she held me there for a moment longer to observe me.

“Odd eyes.” She noticed. “Did you choose them like that?” She asked, finally letting me go to turn to her brother.

“Don’t you think that’s a weird coincidence? Yuuri kun is after all, a good friend of Kurotan and they have inverse eye colour.” The king explained. Hikari suddenly caught my chin in-between her fingers.

“It must be a sick twist of destiny.” She said in an almost scary manner. She sounded like a shady fortune teller from a traveling show. “Don’t get too spooked, I just thought it’s a little unusual to see someone with mismatched eyes, but two in the same lifetime is even more special.” She said with a smile this time. I smiled back.

“Yeah, that’s exactly what I thought when I met Kuro.” I said. And it seemed my life has been nothing but unusual since I met Kuro. I don’t know if my meeting him was a sick twist of destiny or not. “He’s a special person, that redhead?” I asked a little more to myself than to them.

“Kurorimi kun? You bet! He’s one special little boy. I never met anyone like him.” Hikari said. She sends a glance towards her twin. Ohba smiled looking melancholy.

“You’re right; Kurotan changed my life back then.” He said, clearly remembering that particular event. I burned to ask him what the boy did; the king was always so nice towards Kuro. It seemed Kuro is some kind of angel to him too but it’s not the time for that right now. I don’t want to sound like I’m intrigued by that boy’s life either.

“I was looking forward to seeing Kurorimi kun; he couldn’t come?” Kyoshi asked.

“He was going over to his grandparents house for the evening.” Ohba explained.

“That’s too bad. He’s a funny little kid.” Isaac said grinning brightly. I don’t like it but the more they talk about him, the more I want to see him. I can’t believe it myself, I can’t believe I want to see someone so bad. It doesn’t help that none of us has mentioned what happened at Kishimoto’s place the other night.. I can’t believe I’m all that special to him, he’s not just nice to me. He helped Ohba and Santa and Ren. I’m no more special than any of these guys.

“Yuuri kun, do you want something to drink?” Hikari asked, pulling me out of my thoughts. I can’t believe I was actually thinking about Kuro wanting me or not; I must be going insane.

“Sure.” I said, she shoved a glass in my hand. I smiled at her in thanks. This family is nice too. The air is warm and they are all helping each other in the kitchen. Even Hikari, who seems a little more cold and distant, is chatting along with her father and Isaac.

“It might not feel like home back in Japan, but I hope it can make you feel a little better.” Ohba said leaning against the counter beside me. I chuckle almost bitterly.

“This feels better than what I could ever have back home in Japan. We never really celebrated Christmas. The last couple of years I spent in Japan were a little better. I had a stable place to stay and the people I lived with were nice.” I said, thinking back.
“I’m sorry, I,” He started. Ah damn, I didn’t want to make him feel bad or anything.

“It’s my bad, I shouldn’t have said that. Don’t feel bad about it; I’m really glad you invited me over.” I said cutting him off. I shouldn’t think about my past. It’s about time to put all those painful years behind me. Ohba smiled sadly at me.

“You know that if anything bothers you, you can always come here for a couple of days.” Kyoshi said gently.

“Thanks.” I said with a toothy grin in attempt to lighten the mood a little.

“We’re having a traditional Christmas turkey.” Isaac said proudly taking the massive turkey out of the oven.

“At least this year it’s not burnt.” Hikari commented.

“Last year was not burnt, it was well done.” The Frenchman said in defence.

“Sure keep believing that and we’ll be eating ‘well done’ until we grow old.” She answered placing the plates around the table.

“Do you need help with anything?” I asked.

“If you can keep Isaac from butchering this turkey it would be nice.” She said nonchalantly pointing at her step father who was just about to attempt to slice the turkey.

“Let me help.” I said grabbing the knife from the man’s hands. The Frenchman didn’t seem like a kitchen person. I assumed Christmas was the only time of the year when he tries to cook. I cut the turkey into perfect slices before bringing the knife back to Hikari. I was impressed to see so much food on the table. I haven’t seen that much food often in my life; I have always been on a very limited diet.

“It looks good.” I complimented the cook.

“Does it?” Kyoshi asked. “Sadly, I haven’t inherited my mother’s cooking skills. She cooks to make one memorable feast.” He added. I looked at all the different foods on the table. There was of course the turkey but also some ham, pork, beans, omelettes, mashed potatoes, meat pies as well as the dish I made.

“Stop looking at it. Let’s all sit down.” Ohba said patting my shoulder. I nodded; he didn’t need to tell me that twice. The food was as good as it looked, I was in culinary heaven. The company wasn’t bad either. The king was still his usual king-self, Kyoshi is sweet and he doesn’t talk a lot, Isaac thinks he’s a stand- up comic so he pulls out jokes every five seconds, but he’s always countered by Hikari’s crude and sarcastic humour.

After supper I helped with the dishes as well as packing up the leftovers. There was enough food to last almost a month. Kyoshi offered me some with the pretext that they couldn’t eat all that food and it would go bad. I felt obliged to accept, but in fact I was quite thrilled since the supper had been so good. Afterwards, we went to the living room by the fireplace, where they traditionally exchanged gifts.

“Here, this one is for you Yuuri kun.” Ohba said with a charming smile.

“What?” I asked blinking in surprise.

“This one has your name on it.” He repeated.

“You really didn’t have to get me anything sempai.” I said raising my hands. I blushed slightly; I wasn’t used to receiving gifts.

“No, I wanted to. I would feel bad if we exchanged gifts and you didn’t get anything.” He explained.

“This really isn’t necessary.” I contested.

“Don’t worry; it didn’t cost a penny if it makes you feel better.” Kyoshi coaxed me to accept the nicely wrapped box. I finally reached out to grab it from the king’s long fingers. I frowned a little in question at the package, it was surprisingly heavy.

“Come on, stop looking at it and open it.” Hikari said impatiently.

“Alright, alright.” I said, trying to sound annoyed. I carefully opened the package. My eyes widened in surprise when they fell on its contents. “Not a penny? But this is a computer!” I exclaimed staring at the laptop on my hands.

“It’s not new, I needed to change models since it was becoming too old for the program I needed.” He explained. I didn’t know shit about computers but I sure know they cost a lot.

“This is too much.” I said shaking my head.

“Not at all. I really want you to have it; it’s useless to me now.” He said, the smile only widened on his face at my embarrassment.

“But you could probably sell it.” I said.

“Don’t make such a fuss about it Yuuri kun, this piece of junk isn’t worth that much.” Hikari said. She was trying to say it like it wasn’t such a big deal but she could tell it was to me by the surprise on my face.

“Besides, you don’t have one yourself, you always have to come to school to do your homework.” Ohba argued. I still looked troubled from accepting such a generous gift. “If you feel that bad about accepting it, let’s just say I’m lending it to you until you don’t need it anymore.” He said in order to make it seem less of a big deal.

“Thanks senpai.” I said, grabbing my senior in a one arm manly hug.

“You’re welcome.” He answered. I never expected so much from my friend. All that good food and now this gift. I felt very lucky tonight. I felt so happy I almost started crying. I know that wasn’t very manly but I’ve always been easily touched. I smiled. I realised I had been doing that a lot lately, ever since I met Kuro.

“What’s so special about him?” I asked Ohba while I helped him make up a bed beside his. “I feel like I’ve changed a lot since we met.” I added.

“Kuro?” He questioned. I nodded. “He changed me a lot too.” He said.

“That’s what you said earlier, but didn’t your meeting with Gianni change you a lot too?” I asked referring to the time he told us how he met the Italian.

“Gianni is one of the two people that changed me; Kuro is the other one. Even though things got better for me when I took care of Gianni, it still didn’t cure me.” He said sitting down on the edge of the bed. I lied on my back on the spare mattress with my hands crossed under my head.

“You remember I had to take medication for my attitude problem, right?” He asked. I nodded. “Well, I was just suppressing my problems and not actually fixing them. Up until three years ago. I couldn’t even face Hikari and I almost didn’t see Gianni for three years.”

Tyler’s POV 10th grade 15 years old.

Even now that Gianni has almost completely recovered from his injuries I still find reasons to hang around his place. He still has to go to the hospital for therapy but now he can walk with the help of a cane. He gets tired quickly but it’s still an improvement. I can’t help but feel proud every time I see him walk. Like right now; I observe him and smile to myself.

“What are you smiling to yourself for, brat?” Gianni asked with a frown. My grin only widened.

“You’re just so beautiful when you walk.” I said with a seductive smile. He still blushed even though he should be used to it by now. It’s not the first time I pulled that one on him. That’s one of the things that makes him even more adorable. I’ve come to accept very quickly that I have a major crush on the Italian, and I’m not one to deny myself something I really want. He might always call me a brat and get angry when I flirt with him, but he never pushes me away. He’s a little shy but I’m pretty sure he has the same feelings as I do.

“Say, how about we go to the park this weekend if the weather is nice?” I asked scooting a little closer to him on the couch.

“Don’t you have a project due Monday?” He asked.

“I don’t mind failing classes if it’s to spend time with you!” I said cheerfully. I leaned a little closer to him.

“Idiot, school is important if you want to have a good job in the future.” He said pushing me away by pressing his palm against my forehead.

“I don’t care about a good job if you’re not going to be in my future.” I said innocently. He blushed again. I knew he wouldn’t be able to resist that one.

“I guess we could go to the park for a little while, then we’ll come back and I’ll help you with that project of yours.” He said rolling his eyes in desperation.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” I said giving him a kiss on the cheek with each ‘thank you’. He stopped me at the last kiss, grabbing my chin in-between his index finger and his thumb.

“Who gave you permission to kiss me?” He asked glaring at me.

“Since you didn’t stop me after the first one, I’d say you did.” I said in a smartass manner. Another blush rushed across his face.

“That’s enough brat, get out of here.” He said pushing me off the couch out of embarrassment more than anger. I’m quick enough to grab his arm and drag him along in my fall. He lands on top of me but before he can even recover from the shock, I’ve already flipped him over. I chuckled teasingly as I looked down at his surprised face. His frame is still bigger than mine and he’s still taller, but it won’t take too long before I grow taller than him. I’ve been on a growing spurt for a few months now. He frowns at my teasing smile. I lean down on him and push my lips against his.

“What the hell are you doing Tyler? My mom is only in the basement! She could come up any moment now!” He said breaking the kiss with a blush.

“She’ll be the lucky one to have such a show.” I purred leaning into the kiss. This time he responds rather than push me away. He’s always so strict, but it doesn’t take that much to sway him. We’ve been in that kind of relationship for almost a month now. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I kissed him and he didn’t push me away. Of course it was in his room and not in the middle of the living room where anyone could catch us. We’ve been keeping this a secret between the two of us since he isn’t very fond of public displays of affection.

Lost in the moment, he then flipped us over once again to take the lead. A large hand slips under my sweater; he caresses my skin slowly drinking into my warmth. I run my hand through his shirt, spiky dirty blond locks as he pushed his tongue in my mouth, I welcome it greedily, also desperately wanting to taste him. I moaned deeply into the kiss.

“Don’t be so loud brat, my mom will hear you.” He said as he broke the kiss to regain his breath.

“It’s not my fault you’re just that good.” I said smirking. My hands were locked behind his neck. He blushed and the comment.

“That’s enough; my mom’s coming up.” He said laying a last short kiss on my lips before sitting up. He dismounted me and resumed his previous position on the couch.

“That’s too bad, you got me all excited.” I said sitting up crossed legged.

“You stupid brat!” He said, blushing even further, this time he whacks me on the head with his cane.

“Tyler, what are you doing on the floor?” His mother asked as she passed by.

“Gianni’s being a meany again.” I whined rubbing my head.

“Get up, you need to get home it’s getting late.” Gianni said kicking my rear lightly.

“I’ll see you this weekend.” I said winking at him.

“Yeah.” He said trying to sound nonchalant. I can’t help but smile to myself. He’s so adorable. He’s four years older but sometimes he acts like such a kid. I slip on my coat and lean down to him for a goodbye kiss. He reaches me halfway since his mother can’t see anymore.

I don’t know if he’ll end up telling his mom about the two us. Compared to his twin Andrea,,he’s not as (comfortable?)about his relationship. Not that he has as many relationships as Andrea. Each time I come here, Andrea’s with a different person! Male or female, he does them all.

Gianni is a little more considerate about that. He hasn’t gone out with anyone since his accident. We haven’t had sex either and like I said earlier, it’s been a month. It’s true that we didn’t have that much time to ourselves, with three more siblings here, we’re almost never alone in the house and I know there is no way he’ll do it while someone could walk in on us.

I sighed to myself. But I am at my limit. Every time we have an encounter like that I get so excited, I just want him to touch me but he always stops right before he goes too far. Like today; he obviously loves touching my skin by the way he caressed it so gently. Isn’t he holding back too? I’ll just have to wait some more, maybe he’s just a little shy.

When I came into my house I could hear my father and Isaac. They were talking with my sister; they’re probably having supper. She only comes once in a while to see my dad, she still lives with mom. I slip in without a sound like most nights. I might have managed to get to accept Isaac but I still haven’t talked to my sister yet. Heck, I haven’t seen her face in quite some time. Some time, it’s been years. I’m too scared to even try to look at her. Last time I did I had a nervous breakdown and they had to sedate me for two days.

I’m not ready take that step yet. In fact, I’d rather move out of here as soon as I can so this trauma of mine won’t be a bother to anyone.

Now, after so long I feel like this is a slow comeback but the next chapter that are coming are better in my opinion. Also, I wanted to clarified what happened between Tyler and Gianni, you guys will get to learn that in the next chapter. As well as why Tyler loves Kuro so goddamn much. Tyler makes me laugh in a way because he makes me think of Yuuri a lot, not as much when he's being his calm gallant self but when he lets himself being taken over by his emotions, he makes me think of dear Yuuri.

Okay, so next week for the next chapter for sure. I hope you guys look forward it.
Take care and tell me what you think, again, sorry for the delay. My new apartment as been a bitch, I live with five other people now. But now I feel inspire so the next chapters should not be a problem.- Love Clolymy.
