Destiny Found CH2 pt 2

The food did not last long on either of their plates. Wiping her mouth she sighed. "That was good." Taking a long sip on her shake.

"I\'m glad you liked it" he said as he started to eat the salad.

She sat back and watched him for a moment. "When we get back, I need to go back to the temple. The writings there may help me understand more about what is going on and what exactly I need to do."

Nodding in agreement. "You should do that. So, what did you feel when you were there?" taking a mouth full of the juice.

"I was upset and really didn\'t know where I had ran. When I realized where I had gone. I just stood there and looked around. My heart was broken at the thought of what had happed to you. Then.." she took another drink. "Then a wind started to blow and the candles went out. Power surged through me. It was amazing. It was different than before. If felt like electricity was flowing through every part of my body. I closed my eyes to it. A tingling sensation traveled up my body then was gone. When I opened my eyes, I could read the writings."

"I see. What did it say?" this was a very interesting subject.

"Well, I only glanced at the writings. That\'s why I need to go back. But it spoke of the prophecy. Balance of evil and good. As soon as the shock of what had happened wore off. I left and ran back to you in the courtyard. That\'s when I healed you and had the monks carry you back to your room."

"I see. Perhaps you can tell me more once you have gone over the writings. Oh, just so you know. Your mother is buried there"

"She is. Will you show me?" She may not remember the woman but she should pay respects to her. Suddenly her ankle began to burn and she winced. "We better go."

"But I haven\'t finished eating yet" he said, not knowing what had gotten into her.

"Michael," reaching under the table, she scratched it. "My ankle. They are trying to find me."

"Not trying, Have" he stood up from the table as he watched four large men with heavy hardware enter the restaurant. This was not going to be pleasant. He positioned himself between her and the men. "Get under the table, close your eyes and ears" he said over his shoulder. Clearing his mind and focusing only on that in front of him. He made himself ready for the upcoming battle.

She looked at the men who had entered. People at other tables sensing trouble left in a rush. "You are out numbered. Can\'t we just make a run for it?"

He looked at her with a smile. "Trust me"

She nodded and slipped beneath the table. Placing her hands over her ears and closing her eyes.

He looked at the men. "I will make you a deal. If you can defeat me, you may get her"

The men looked at each other. One spoke "Well, since that was the plan from the beginning. We accept." Moving forward in two sets.

Michael stood watching their advancement. With speed unmatched, he drew his colt .45\'s from their holsters hidden behind his back. Squeezing off rounds, he watched the men\'s body jerk as each took a bullet and fell. They never had a chance to draw their own weapons.

Endora still heard the shot ring out and felt several thumps hit the floor. Not sure, she slowly opened her eyes, she could see his legs and sighed in relief. She stirred from under the table. "Michael, is it over?"

"Yes" he answered and holstered his weapons.

Crawling out from under the table, she looked down where the men lay. Looking back up at him. "Are you alright?"

"I\'m fine. You?" he walked over to her and offered his hand.

"I\'m alright" taking his hand, she stood up then brushed herself off. "This is what you were trained for. I shouldn\'t have doubted."

"Neither should have they and they paid the price" he dusted her back off .

Smiling, she leaned forward and kissed his cheek. "I think we\'d better go, before anymore show up."

"Alright" he arced his arm for her to put her arm through. "Shall we?"

Placing her arm through his and trying not to look at the bodies on the floor as she walked over them. Michael tossed several bills on the counter as they went out the front door and back to the car.

He opened the door for her and closed it once she took a seat. "We should try and mask that mark on your ankle" he said after taking a seat behind the wheel and starting the engine.

Looking over at him as they left the parking lot. "I suppose. I will read over the paper again maybe there is a way to do it."

"Yeah" he descended the window and placed his arm on the frame of the door.

As they drew closer to the church grounds once again. She couldn\'t help but tease. "Think dad is waiting?"

"Yeah, with his shotgun" he responded as they drove through the old gates.

She couldn\'t help but laugh, but got sober again when she saw the old monk, watching their return. "Uh-oh, were caught." she mumbled as he stopped the car.

Michael got out first and started to talk to the monk. It wasn\'t long before they were in a heated discussion.

Climbing out she walked around the car and watched them. When they began to argue, she walked up to them both. "Please stop."

"... She\'s not a prisoner!" Michael debated when he was interrupted.

All she could do was look back and forth between them, not knowing really what to say. She placed her hand on Michael arm. "Your right I\'m not and don\'t wish to be treated like one." She looked at the monk. "I am fine, no harm was done. He kept me safe as that is his job. I trust him and so should you."

The older monk bowed. "As you wish"

"Thank you." Smiling. "Now, if you will excuse me, I\'m going to the temple." She walked away from both men, hoping she had put an end to things.
