font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>         Rachel
stepped out of her car and looked towards the house she knew so well. In the
front porch stood a 47 year-old woman with long brown hair and a blue sundress.
She smiled widely the moment she saw Rachel. Feeling light and totally at home
Rachel walked to the woman. They hugged tightly.

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“Hello there. I wasn’t expecting you
today.” The woman said in her soft voice.

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“I decided to drop by today cause
I’m leaving to the country tomorrow and I’m not sure when I’m getting back.”

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“Well, come in. He’s sleeping but
you can see him if you want.”

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Rachel smiled softly and followed the older
woman. The inside of the house was exactly as she remembered. It had been a while
since the last time she had entered the house. That day she had been dressed in
black and used around 20 boxes of tissues. Exactly one year before her father
passed away and now his brother was going through the same illness. But this
time Rachel was intent on changing his odds.

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> The house was quiet and it seemed no one else
was around. The two women walked to a bedroom at the end of a corridor. The
door was ajar and the older woman opened it fully. It creaked a bit but the
person laying in the bed didn’t seem to notice. He was
sleeping soundly and looked so peaceful Rachel didn’t want to disturb him. She
gazed at him for a minute and whispered so only he could hear her.

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“I’m here to help you, class=GramE>uncle John. I won’t let anything bad happen to you. I promise.”

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> She pressed her lips lightly against his
forehead and left the bedroom. Her aunt smiled sadly and led the way to the
living room. She sat on the couch and Rachel sat beside her.

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“So, the newspaper is giving you
holidays?” her aunt asked in an attempt to make conversation.

class=GramE>“Finally.lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'> I hardly have any days off. I work
everyday and this week it’s been rough so my boss gave into my persistence and
now I have two weeks to give my cameras some rest.” Rachel explained.

class=GramE>“Why the country?”lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;

it’s a little cold for the beach.”

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“True. Well I guess you won’t be
around when your uncle leaves for the hospital. Thanks to that account you made
for us we hired the best specialist and John starts the treatment in 5 days.”

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“That’s great news. I would love to
be there when he leaves but I prefer to be with him when he gets better.”

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“I’m sure that will happen soon.
We’ll have to wait to see how he reacts to the treatment but the doctor’s
hopeful.”

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“And so should we. Uncle John is
going to be fine. I’m sure.”

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“Yes he will. And it will be thanks
to you. I’m not going to ask where the money comes from but I’m going to say
that it is what’s saving your uncle’s life.”

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“Don’t worry about it. Just make
sure the money is put to good use. I should get going. I’ve got a lot to
prepare before I leave.” Rachel said and got up.

lang=EN-US style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;
font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Her aunt got up as well and the two women
walked outside. They hugged again by Rachel’s car and the older woman watched
as her niece left. She waved goodbye and got back to the house. It would be
sometime before she got to see her niece again.
