A New Companion
Hi all im back yet again. I just don't seem to go away do I. Well for all the readers who like my fic but refuse to tell me here's the next chapter.
Chapter 14
Lanton looks at Mevran fear in his eyes, "Do you still believe that werewolves are merely myth? "˜Cause I certainly don't." The elf smirked and told the half-breed if he hadn't believed the werewolves were real, he would never have forced the other to go so far so fast that day.
"I was hoping to lose them when we crossed the large lake earlier today but evidently they're not stupid. Lanton, be prepared to die tonight.... we can't out run them in the dark and we can't hide from them..." the elf solemnly told the younger of the two.
"Hide from what?" interrupted a deep growling voice. Slowly the speaker, walked out into the light of the fire. It was a werewolf. He was enormous even for his kind, his coat was a beautiful silver color and looked as if he groomed it daily, his eyes were a deep brown and his muzzle was a normal size for a wolf. All in all, this werewolf looked nothing like the gruesome murderers they were in the legends.
Lanton actually took a step toward the wolf like creature, "You don't look like an evil creature."
"And you don't look like a proper elf," returned the wolf.
Lanton frowned at the wolf's words and had to agree, "No, I'm only half elven. My mother was a human. Why does that make a difference in whether you kill me or not?"
The wolf had to chuckle, never before had he encountered a member of any race that knew of what he was and the tales about him and still stay to talk to him and even challenge him to a word spar. He decided he liked this half-elf and would tell him the truth and worry about the elf in the camp later.
"First of all, though some of the lower werewolves will eat sentient flesh, I will not. Second, I have never followed the prejudice of elves, humans, ogres, or any other creature, I prefer to judge people as individuals, and I've decided I like you." the wolf explained.
At hearing the wolf say he liked him, backs away fear rolling off him like a bad oder. Instantly, Mevran steps between Lanton and the werewolf.
"Keep the fuck away from him or so help me.... I don't care if you are a werewolf ill run you through with my sword!" the elf growled.
The wolf blinked trying to figure out what he had said to set them off and all he could come up with was nothing, "The least you could do is tell me what I did or said to frighten him."
It was then, Mevran realized the wolf did not mean to insinuate anything, "An elf kept him as a pleasure slave before I saved him. He thought you meant that you wanted to fuck him."
"I would never do something like that... I suggest we move the lessers are nearing..." the wolf said grabbing Lanton by the back of the shirt and running making sure the elf is keeping up.
