Chapter Thirteen

A/N; Thank you all for hanging in there and waiting for me to get back to this story I know it has been a few months since I wrote anything but as my last post said my grand father was in hospital and sadly died at the beginning of the year so my muse left me for a while but hopefully she has returned now and I can continue on with this and other stories I have on the go.

Chapter Twelve

She felt warm and soft in his arms. The faint sound of her breathing filled the room. He wished he could switch off but after laying here with her in his arms for the past few hours he had never been more awake. It had only taken her about twenty minute to fall in a deep slumber. He was thankful for that she had been through more in her short time on this planet then someone twice her age. But he had her now and he would look after her. No harm would touch her again. With this thought Theo pulled her closer to him, her instant reaction was to tighten her arm around his waist, even in sleep she responded to him. He kissed the top of her head again and closed his eyes.

God he loved her so much. His mother had spoken of a love that put everything else in the dark and Theo had never really believed it existed. The women he knew were selfish and all about there appearance. Alexis was the complete opposite, she cared more about others then herself, and he saw her true inner beauty that no one could ever say was ugly. In time her external bruises would fade and her natural charm would shine through. He would be a mad man not to want to closer too her. From the first time they had spoken on the internet he knew she was special. This was the woman h wanted to marry and have children with. He wanted to give her the world on a plate if she asked, even though he knew she wouldn’t.

Alexis moved slightly in her sleep and brushed against him. It was hard for him to control himself when he was this close to her. Though he loved the fact he could touch her at all. But being this close to her and holding on to his promise of ‘no funny business’ was proving hard to keep. Theo was no stranger to the female body but he could tell she had no experience of a mans touch. It was something he wanted to be special between them and that wouldn’t be happening tonight. It was far too soon.

Theo closed his eyes and tried to sleep. He had meetings in the morning and he needed to be alert for them. He had already arranged for a new mobile phone and had set up an account for her so she wouldn’t be short of money. he wanted to make sure that for once she was taken care of instead of her looking after everyone else. Now that things were starting to calm down in his own mind he allowed himself enough time to relax into sleep.

Alexis could tell that Theo had finally fallen asleep. She had slowed her breathing down to pretend she was asleep till he was out of it. She had known when she had asked that there was no way she would be able to sleep with him next to her. But she hadn’t wanted to be away from him for a moment. She couldn’t believe that she was here in his arms. It was all real. All the time they had been talking she had imagined being in his arms. In fact she had always imagined what it would be like to spend that night with any man, but since he had been in her life it was Theo who had filled her world with fantasies of some new world where she would be the centre of someone’s world.

Theo had become such a life line too Alexis that she didn’t know how she would have survived the past few months without him. She read romance novels and they had always spoken of this all consuming love that reached the stars, but she had never felt like that would be part of her future. She hadn’t really imagined a future at all, it was too painful to even think of what the next day may bring to her. Pain was how she had lived her life for so long that this was the first time she had really experienced true happiness. Yet with this new happiness came the prospect of loosing it and this really scared her. The love was there in Theo’s eyes but would it last forever? And if not how would she deal with the fall out from it? This was a man she could see herself being with for the rest of her life. this was the man she had dreamt about and had held all the values of those fictional men she had read about. But could love really be as it is in a tale? Or like everything in her past was this just going tot lead to more pain?
