Epilogue

Inside the main shipyard of Graft Industries Victor almost couldn't stand in one place as he waited for his new ship to be brought around. This was quite possibly the most exciting day of his life, he had dreamed of exploring the stars since he was a child and now that dream was about to come true. The waiting room he stood in was so clean it felt almost like it had been sterilized. Made of a solid white material the room was square in design with matching tables and chaired neatly arranged, there was a courtesy food synthesizer against the wall to Victor's right and directly in front of him was the second of three large floor to ceiling windows. Like a child on Christmas morning Victor finally started to pace back and forth while staring out the window.

“Vic, would you calm down you're gonna wear a hole in the floor,” April said.

(I can't help it, I'm excited).

“The ship will be here when it gets here. I don't see what the big deal is anyway.”

(The big deal, the big deal? Don't you get it April, we'll finally have the chance to explore space, to see what's out there).

“I can see what's out there just fine, looks like a whole lot of nothing.” Victor just rolled his eyes a little as he want back to pacing. It wasn't just the ship that had him excited, he had only asked for a used ship but the Asiern had gone the extra mile and ordered a new ship be built by Graft Industires, one of the most respected shipyards in the known galaxy. Without warning Victor plastered himself against the window.

“I think the ship has arrived,” Vivica said.

Vivica's guess was right, the ship Victor had been waiting for finally came into view, moving at a slow but smooth pace. It came to a stop directly in front of them only moments before an Aesirn beamed into the room. “Victor?” the alien asked.

(Yes).

“Your ship is ready.”

(Righteous, give me the specs). The Aseirn engineer taps a few buttons on a small datapad before handing it to Victor.

“Right now if you like.”
