Bedroom

Updated late because I've developed something resembling a life and went out drinking last night instead of updating.

I almost, accidentally, posted two chapters instead of one. Ouch. So this is very short. I've been having trouble getting the story to open. Seems like every time I do, it has a fit. So just a warning, there may be a time soon when the updates are days late while I re-write chapters.

Amusingly, this was not how the chapter was supposed to go. I'm not really going to argue about it though.

Read, Review and Enjoy.

Getting El out of the room was difficult. The bright eyed male was disoriented. Nu had never taken a life either, but he was still standing, he knew what had to be done. Having gotten El out of the room, Yao ordered them all down the steps and three floors down they moved into some kind of clean, cold area. The young female dragged El to a shower and ordered Nu to climb in as well.

They washed, Nu washed himself and stripped his clothing off. He understood that blood was a bad thing to be covered with, even in his tribe, begin covered with blood was a bad thing. He knew this, and so he washed and stripped down in front of the females even though for them it was not really acceptable. Then he made El wash, rinsing the male off, then scrubbing him with the bar of soap that Yao offered. El’s clothing was tossed out of the shower like the rest.

By the time Nu and El were washed, Yao had gotten her hands on some clothing. Nu had to prod El into dressing and then lead the mal towards the table where everyone was gathering. Workers were filtering in, reports about machines going down and movement along the edge. Nu had to ask several times before he found out that the edge was the place where the wilds and civilization met up. The reports were random at best and didn’t make any sense. It seemed to imply that there was some sort of army attacking. That the creatures of the wild were suddenly leaving the forest and mauling people.

Yao was looking over Vrg, pressing against the short female’s wounds even as Vrg pushed Yao away and frowned, talking in such a way that implied Yao must have lost her mind. Vrg eventually managed to get Yao to leave her alone by taking hold of the bandage and pressing it to her chest as if covering the wound. It was then that Yao turned her attention to El.

“He’s completely lost it,” Yao muttered, “Come El, we don’t really have the time for your to have a breakdown. Hey, you were made to do that, it’s not like you just killed innocent people or anything. Kill or be killed. Yeah. He’s gone into shock or something. Auntie.”

“In the top drawer,” Evera said, motioning and shaking terribly as she did so, “we are being attacked by the short people in the wilds, this is very bad for us. Nu, can you delay it at all?”

“Delay?”

“The ring. We,” Evera pointed weakly to herself and the others, “are just playing roles that the ring wants done. To what end, no one knows, but can you delay it, can you somehow push them back to the wilds, just for a little while? We have to get El safe and he’s in shock. Vrg needs medical attention-” everyone looked at the short female, who was wiping at clean, smooth skin, “what the. Yao. Is the equipment running?”

Yao turned her attention from El, to Vrg, “yes, why. Whoa, did she just heal herself? She’s a healer. That’s amazing. Short people have power!”

“I don’t think she is a healer,” Nu murmured, “and she has no power of her own. I can sense power in ones like plemmer, short people have no power. None.”

The young female walked to one of the many cabinets and pulled out some type of machine. She took it over to Vrg and held it up. Nothing seemed to happen, but Yao frowned and shook the machine, “auntie.” Yao shifted away from Vrg, “her material is mutating.”

“Try it again, perhaps it was only her healing herself,” Evera murmured, bending to someone at her side to whisper instructions to them.

The woman’s condition was worsening, her eyes seemed dull and her cheeks sunken. Every motion of her body was a trembling loss of control. Whatever medication she had been using, it was no longer working. Her body was breaking down and it would not be long before her genetic alterations began clashing and trying to consume one another. Her body would reject the organs with animal DNA in them, like a body that had been given an organ transplant from another body, Evera’s body would attempt to rid itself of foreign material.

At the cost of its own life.

Nu swallowed and settled beside El, took the male’s hand in his own and patted it firmly, “I have no control over what the ring does. The way it was explained to me, I can want for something but that does not mean that the ring will get it for me. I have no idea how to interpret what it says most of the time. The only thing that I can understand is when everything becomes so clear, when it is such a problem that my life is in danger.” he sighed, “I can no more send them back into the wilds than I can bring them out. I can no more make you better than make you more ill. The ring and I are not a clean mesh.”

Evera watched Nu for a very long moment, “the Emperor always said that there is no way for one to achieve anything unless one opens one’s mind to the possibility of existence and the possibility of a better future. No man who believes he is stuck will ever change unless he realises that he has the capability to change, that he can change.”

“I do not understand,” Nu said, “what has that got to do with the ring.”

“Maybe you cannot use the ring, or hear the ring as Shin did, because you refuse to acknowledge the fact that you and it are a good pair. You obviously hold this belief very firmly in your mind. You need to let go and accept the fact that you are the ring bearer, that if you were not the bearer, then nothing would come of your being here. We would not have found you, the bullets of those men would not have missed you.”

El groaned and rubbed at his face. Nu turned to the bright eyed male, “coming back to yourself?”

It probably helped that Yao stood there with some sort of needle. The little female hid it behind her back and smiled innocently when El turned towards her. Frowning, El turned from Yao and looked to Nu.

“I feel like I am hung over,” El muttered, rubbing his face again, “so. Where were we?”

“You killed a bunch of people,” Nu responded bluntly.

“Yes, Nu, and I’m sorry that I acted the way I did but it was a natural reaction to death. I think, anyhow,” El frowned, “truth be told, there hasn’t been much work done on studying the after affects of killing someone. There hasn’t been an actual murder in years and the last execution was almost a hundred years ago when the Meita family was expunged.”

“Even then,” Evera murmured, accepting something from the person whom she had been whispering to moments before, “the council of six at the time stepped down as one. They could not live with what they had done and each went off to their respective estates in the wilds and were never heard from again. Some said that they committed suicide, so affected by their actions. Layaent denies this, of course.”

“See, just because I had taken a life or two or… ten,” El paused for the briefest moments, “what’s going on now?”

“We are receiving reports from the edge of creatures attacking,” Evera said quietly, “Vrg is constantly mutating and has healed herself, apparently. Yao. What did the second scan say?”

“That her genetic material is mutated beyond existence, there’s no way Vrg could exist.” Yao sighed and scanned someone else at random, “No, you exist and you’re fine.” she growled her frustration and dropped the scanner on the table, “I give up. Short of taking blood and spending six months picking apart and writing down her code, there’s no way to know what she really is and we haven’t exactly got that amount of time.”

“What’s our plan of action?” El asked, clearing his throat, “the genetic lines are leaving but Gomesh Genetics has to stay. For how long, what’s this mean to us?”

Evera swallowed whatever was in her hand and waved a dismissive hand to the younger female who leaned in and murmured something in a concerned tone, “It means that we will keep a vigilant eye on the commoners. Those who are capable, who want, who aren’t complete idiot or sheep, can move to the wilds and we will aid them. Our sister corporations-”

“Wait, what is a sister corporation?” Nu asked, he had no idea what this meant. The two words worked as separate items, certainly, but when put together they created a whole new meaning, one that escaped him.

“All the other genetic companies are sister companies to Gomesh Genetics, they do the same things as us and we are all answerable to each other. As such, when one of us makes a statement such as this, all others must do the same. Gomesh Genetics is the leader of this action plan because of our close proximity to the Ishteshtin estate. We give the directive and the other companies react.” Evera responded quietly.

“Ah,” Nu said, looking upset suddenly, “so all Gomesh Genetics people stay in civilization until commoners are dealt with. I see.” Nu’s hand tightened on El’s, squeezing it.

Oh. That meant that El couldn’t leave civilization any time soon. That El had to stay behind and take care of the commoners. Nu and El couldn’t be together if movement between the wilds and civilization was stopped or not allowed due to the political upheaval of the civilized world.

El cleared his throat and sat forward, “this uhm. Dealing with. Portion, how long is it expected to take?”

“A few days to a few thousand years,” Evera said in response, “tonight we will sleep in the building on the family floor under lock down. Yao, head up the bringing in of food and water along with ten or so others. Security teams, arm yourself with tazer guns. Does anyone know where Mally is at the moment?”

“Sleeping in the rafters of the lobby,” someone said, “none of us could reach her and she knows how to find us if she wakes up and wants company.”

***

Fuck. El understood what was going on and why it was happening. His loyalties lay with Gomesh Genetics because they had birthed and raised him, certainly, but he had only wanted to stay with the company for so long as his mother was alive, otherwise he was going to live in the wilds. With the upheaval of the people, his position was changing and changing quickly.

He weighed his options very carefully as mother led everyone to the stairs and then up six floors to the family residence. There she directed various people off and assigned rooms. The only room that she did not tell people to sleep in was El’s, this, mother said quietly, was for El and Nu. The pair of males would reside in El’s room because Nu didn’t react well to strangers sleeping around him.

Which wasn’t quite true, as none of them knew for certain that Nu would have a problems with strangers. It was reasonable to assume that the little male wouldn’t work well with strangers because of how close he and his tribe was. But it had yet to be proven and mother was of the mind that unless it had been proven, one should not believe it.

Yao and Vrg would sleep in mother’s room along with their secretaries and a majority of the women who had been in the building during the attack. This was to protect the females from males and because all evacuation and emergency plans involved segregating the males from the females in case of … instinctual reaction problems.

As ordered, Yao provided food for group. A bland meal compared to the meats and vegetables they had been eating in the wilds. Nu ate very little, as he had over the previous days. It just didn’t seem like the little male had any appetite and this was a problem. Mother noted Nu’s status and retrieved some kind of machine from her room. She scanned the little male but found nothing wrong with him and declared that it must be stress affecting him and maybe El should do something about that.

Which made El scratch his head in confusion because it had been said in a dismissing way and he and Nu were sent off to bed early while the adults stayed up and chatted. Nu accepted this dismissal without a problem and went to El’s room even as El gave his mother a questioning look. If they were going to plan something, he should be a part of it, why would his mother keep him out of plotting?

“Go to bed, El,” was the only response he received.

So he went to his bedroom and found Nu laying on the floor naked. Not that he didn’t appreciate finding an attractive, naked male in his room, but it wasn’t exactly like the presence made sense given the rest of his day. He was cranky and upset that he was being left out of plotting and so he left Nu laying there as he went into the bathroom and brushed his teeth.

He was the one who had risked life and limb to protect mother and-

Nu appeared behind him and pulled a towel off the rack, wrapping it around his midsection, “perhaps Evera thinks that after your day, you should not be concerned with whatever is going on. You will do her no good being a cranky, tired male.”

“I am not a tired, cranky male,” El snapped, throwing his toothbrush into the cup beside the sink, “I am part of Gomesh Genetics.”

“What is. Six plus eight?”

“Nine. No. Ten. No. Sixteen? What’s your point?” El growled out.

“El cannot add numbers together, how can he participate in plotting how to keep Gomesh Genetics alive and well? Best to sleep and rest up.”

“Then why are you here?” El pointed out angrily.

“Because El and Nu are to spend night together. If anyone else slept in same room, would only get in way of El and Nu being able to protect selves or others. Had I stayed for plotting, you would have stayed up until I got in and then demanded to know everything and gone to Evera with every problem there is with the plan even though you aren’t thinking properly,” Nu shrugged, “also. Maybe so we could have sex.”

“Why would my mother do that?” El asked as Nu went red in the cheeks, “Oh, you want sex? With me? After what I did today, you can still want anything to do with me?”

“El has proven to be very capable as protector and provider,” Nu said, lowering his head and poking his fingers together, “apparently this arousing for Nu.”

“You aren’t hard.” El pointed out as Nu bit his bottom lip and peaked at El, “oh.” so that was what the towel was about, “Well, I suppose we will have to do something about that,” he crossed the bathroom and wrapped his arms around Nu, focusing entirely on the little form before him. The only one who could beat him could stand up to him, could stop him when he got cranky. El kissed Nu’s cheek, “come to the bedroom.”

El took Nu’s hand and pulled the male back into the bedroom, leading him gently to the bed. Nu climbed onto the bed and El pushed him down, so that Nu was laying on his back. El stripped off his clothing and climbed on the bed, kissing Nu as he pulled at the bedding. Getting the bedding down, El reached for the nightstand and opened the drawer there. From it he pulled out a bottle of lubrication.

Popping the cap, he sat back and slicked two fingers. He wanted to do this properly, while causing as little discomfort for Nu as possible. El leaned down and kissed Nu’s lips as he pushed a finger slowly into the young male. Nu whined and tensed, slowly relaxing as El patiently kissed and nibbled on whatever bits of flesh he could reach. As Nu relaxed, El pushed the finger deeper and found the little male’s prostate, causing Nu to cry out and arch under him. Once Nu had adjusted to the finger, was pushing his hips toward El for more, El added a second finger.

Nu moaned and adjusted quicker, tugging at El’s shoulders, “please.”

El ignored Nu’s plea, choosing instead to kiss the smaller male’s neck and to pleasure Nu at his own pace. Nu didn’t like that idea at all, expressing as much as he reached down and caught hold of El. Not in a bad way, but in a controlling sort of thing. A rub, a caress and El wasn’t certain he would last much longer.

He pulled away from Nu and withdrew the fingers. Taking a moment, El covered himself with lubrication and tossed the bottle to the side, not caring where it landed. El settled between Nu’s legs and spread them further. Nu bent one leg up and out of the way, giving El easy access as he eased his weight down. El captured Nu’s lips as he penetrated, covering the whining sound Nu made, just slightly. As Nu relaxed, El pushed further in, not wanting to take any chances. Once he was entirely inside Nu, he took a moment to collect himself.

The tight heat surrounding him was just so damned distracting.

El withdrew and thrust into Nu, wrapping an arm around the little male as he arched upward. Nu’s legs wrapped around El’s waist, arms tangled over his shoulders as El took up a quick pace. Nu moaned and pleaded for more but El kept his pace even, one that he knew he could maintain. Each thrust made Nu tremble a little more, until he was shaking all over, mewling as his fingers dug into El’s shoulders.

Nu tumbled into release, tensing under El and pulling man with him. El groaned, laying his head on Nu’s shoulder as the pleasure roiled through him. Gaining control of himself, he withdrew and collapsed to the side.

As El rolled onto his back, Nu curled up against him. El winced and groaned at the wet against his side, “Nu, we have to shower again. We can’t sleep like this.”

“Like what?”

“With… you spilled on yourself.”

“You could always lick it off,” Nu said, finger tracing small circles on El’s stomach.

Tempting, so very tempting, but El grabbed hold of Nu’s hand and said, “not after the day we had. I don’t have the energy to do that. Come on.”

“Don’t have the energy to lick but has the energy to shower,” Nu groaned, climbing out of bed with El. The little male leaned on El and put his head on the taller man’s shoulder, “tired.”

“I meant that I haven’t got the energy to couple again, which is what licking would lead to,” El said quietly, all but dragging Nu to the bathroom.

The pair washed and then stumbled back into bed where Nu curled up on his side and pressed his forehead right against El’s chest. El tugged up the blankets to all but cover Nu and gave in to being a little chilly. As El began falling asleep, Nu mewled about being cold.

All the blankets were up to Nu’s neck. It wasn’t that cold in the room. Just to be a jerk, El snapped the blankets over Nu’s head and tucked them about his own chin. This made Nu relax immediately and try to burrow closer to El.

“You often sleep like this?” El asked.

“Yes.” came the muffled, hesitant answer.

“You can breath like that?” El lifted the blankets and watched a dozy Nu blinked at him.

The little male rubbed his face against El’s chest, raised it once more and blinked again, “yes. Is very comfortable.”

“Ah,” was the only answer that El could get out as Nu dropped his head onto El’s chest. Dropped, Nu’s head weighed like ten pounds and he just thumped it down on El’s chest. El dropped the blanket back over Nu’s head and settled down to sleep with his odd bed companion.

That one thought, the idea that Nu was an odd bed companion, made El wonder how flexible Nu was. How… how many positions did Nu know and how many could he do?

El closed his eyes and tried not to think about it, least he be tempted to find out.
