Daggers of ice
“Best be a man then, eh?” Arien straightened Basia’s ceremonial robes and ignored the freezing glance she fixed him. The girl was supposed to a witch. Fat lot of good it did her. Probably knew spells worth a bookshelf but couldn’t figure out one to save the day.
“Just so you know, brother, they don’t have a spell to sprout a bald avenger. But I do know one that involves daggers of ice.” The air around them got a little colder. At least she seemed to straighten up a little. Arien was sure she had spunk; she just needed a little encouragement. And he knew just the place.
