Destiny Found CH 2
Slowly waking, his mind raced. Remembering the feel of each lash and
that his back was in terrible pain. What puzzled him now was the fact
that he didn\'t feel any pain at all. Just the weird feeling in his
head. Sitting up, he moved his hand over parts of his back he could
reach. Nothing. Not a single mark. How could this be? He carefully
stood up.
Her body twitched in sleep, then slowly she opened one eye then the
other. Moaning she roll over onto her stomach. She wasn\'t ready to
get up. Slowly she pulled the pillow over her head.
He decided to see what she was doing, it was his job to keep an eye
on her after all. Opening the door, the sun was high above the
earth. It wasn\'t long until he was outside the old door and knocked
gently on it.
Groaning, so much for more sleep. Sitting up. "Yes?"
He slowly opened the door and peeked inside. "Oh, I\'m sorry. I didn\'t
know that you were sleeping"
Scratching her neck, she yawned and looked at him. "I was sort of
awake, its alright. Come in."
"Didn\'t sound like it from the sound of your voice" he stepped inside
and stopped beside her bed. She looked amazing. Her hair sleep
tussled, sitting in nothing but her underwear. "Do you know what
happened after I passed out?"
She nodded and stretched. "Yes, you want the long or short version?"
"Depends, did you do something to me while I was out?"
Raising her eyes to look at him. " I healed you."
He looked thoughtful. "I see... How did you manage that?" His
fingers itched to touch her again.
"It was my magic. I wanted you to heal and it just happened."
Shrugging slightly. "I was so happy when it happened. You looked
awful. I..I hope..."
He looked at himself, his clothing was still blood stained from his
punishment. "Yeah, I guess I must have and please don\'t do that" he
remarked on what was starting to become a habit of hers.
"Sorry." smiling at him. " I just hope never to have to witness such
a thing again. It was awful."
"It was a price I gladly paid" he said as he took a seat in the chair
that still was there.
"I know, but I was at just as much fault as you, in fact more so."
Pushing her hair away from her face. Biting her lip.
"It is my error, I should have turned your temptations down" he
leaned back in the chair a little more.
"You couldn\'t have turned me down any more than a flower can ignore
rain." Standing and stretching again. "Damn uncomfortable bed."
Rubbing her back.
"True, but I still should have not done it. That is how they see it"
Watching her stretch and arc her body made him think of that again.
His body responded and he sighed.
Seeing the look on his face and the sigh that escaped his lips, she
knew what had passed through his mind. "Did you know that the temple
here was all about me and the prophecy?" Hoping a change in subject
would steer things away from more dangerous things.
"Yes, this temple holds the first writings of the child of prophesy.
However, no one can really read them"
She smirked at him. "Oh, someone can."
"Oh? Who" she had caught his total attention.
Leaning towards him, she whispered. "Someone in this room, silly"
"You can read the writings?" he asked, he had to make sure it was
true.
Nodding. "Yep, Me." Feeling her stomach grumble. "Do they have food
around here? I am hungry." Walking over to her dresser, pulling out
some clothes.
"They do, but I don\'t think you would like it. But there is a
restaurant down the road from here" he said.
Getting dressed with her back to him. "Would that be safe? I mean
going there to eat?"
"Well, it depends. But if you want to stay here, that\'s fine" he
grinned at her, she would know he was playing with her.
"Monk food does not have an appeal to me." Grabbing her brush, she
began brushing her hair. Pulling it into a pony she then quickly
braided it and secured it with a band. "So I vote going there."
"Alright, grab your stuff. Oh, and stand outside the main gate and
wait for me. I don\'t think the monks will approve of this" he
whispered.
Smiling. "They don\'t approve of much." She walked out of the room,
down the path to the gate. Passing several Monks out doing whatever
it was they did. She opened the gate, stepped through and waited.
It didn\'t take long until the roar of the engine moved threw the air,
soon he came around the corner and did a perfect 180 degree handbrake
turn to stop a meter from her. "Get in quickly"
Not hesitating she climbed into the passenger side and laughed. "I
feel like naughty teenagers trying to sneak out before dad catches
them."
He pulled the car way in a cloud of smoke and sped down the
road. "The monks can be over protective at times" he said as he
smiled.
"And your not?" She said teasingly. Hitting the button, so her window
descended. Wind whipped across her face as she watched the scenery
pass by.
"That\'s my job" he said as they pulled in to the small parking lot of
the restaurant. "Here we are."
She looked at the small restaurant as she climbed from the car.
Walking to the front she waited for him, then took his hand as they
walked into the building.
"They have fantastic homemade stuff here" he said as he lead her to
an empty table in the back with a good view of who was entering and
leaving.
She sat down with her back to the entrance knowing he would want to
be able to see the door. "Good. I am starving." Michael sat down
across from her as the waitress approached handing them menus. "Thank
you." Taking the menu, opening it and reading over what was
available.
He did as well. "So, how were your dreams?" he asked, hoping that she
found a little more peace.
Glancing over the menu at him. "Fine. Nothing bad if that is what you
were worried about." She smiled to herself. They had been very
pleasant actually. The waitress returned and she ordered a
cheeseburger, fries and a chocolate shake. Michael ordered a LARGE
plate of omelet. A tall glass of orange juice and a large bowl of
salad on the side.
"Bon appetite", he said when the food arrived.
