The Facility

Gavin slid his ‘special’ gloves on. They were designed to protect himself, and others from the poison on his finger tips. With out them he couldn’t touch anyone without melting their flesh with the acidic substance that constantly coated his fingers. The right glove completely covered his hand, where as his left had no fingertips, it was easier than taking off the glove to use his poison, but the rest of the glove protected his hand. Like Candy, his poison only affected living things.

“Candy…”

Gavin grimaced. Candy, had been like a sister to him…or as close to one as possible. Seeing how he didn’t have human emotions, he didn’t feel the love for her most siblings felt, but that didn’t make her betrayal to him any better. Bade was a failure, Gavin felt no connection with him. But Candy…Candy was perfect, just as he was perfect.

Gavin clenched his fist.

“Gavin…” a timid female voice called from behind the door.

“Come in…”

A tall woman with curly maple colored hair walked in. She was wearing a white lab coat and had on pretty wire framed glasses.

“We’ve just received word. They found Celeste.”

Gavin turned and looked at the woman.

“Where is she?”

“She is with Them Sir. One of our sources saw her with Experiment 3.”

Gavin smiled a wicked smile that made the woman flinch.

“Very good…Heh…You can go now Meryn…tell everyone to stand down…We will make no advances till I say so…”

“Y-yes Sir.” The woman left quickly.

“So it seems Candy has met my other little Sister…This is going to be interesting.” Gavin took a gun off of the desk and put it in his pocket. He put on his dark black sunglasses.

Candy lifted the large tile and climbed out of the tunnel. She was standing inside an old storage room. She set the tile aside and helped Angie. She pushed the tile back in place.

“We’ve got to get to the filing room, its four corridors over from here.” Candy adjusted the strap of the bag on her shoulder. Angela dusted off the dirt from her blue jeans and her arms.

“So what’s the plan?”

“What plan?” Candy walked over to the door.

“That’s not funny…Candy? You’re joking right?”

“Shh…” Candy cracked the door open, the hallway was deserted. She pulled out her gun and slid out into the hallway. Angela looked around…this was definitely not a place she wanted to be alone, she pulled out her taser and followed Candy out into the hallway. There was no one there…not even Candy.

“Candy?” Angie fought the urge to scream as a hand reached out and pulled her into another room across the hall. It was Candy.

“Put this on, these will help.” Candy tossed her a white lab coat. She already had one on.

“Where’d you get these?”

“Borrowed them.” Candy slicked her short hair back into a pony tail, more like a pony stub. She put the two Glocks in her right pocket and the shot gun she slid down her pant leg, she prayed it wouldn’t go off. Her left pocket was filled with ammo.

Angela put on the white lab coat, it was about 3 sizes too big, she had to roll up the sleeves to find her hands. It was then she saw the two lab techs slumped on the ground, coatless, dead or alive she didn’t know.

Candy went back in the hallway, this time Angela didn’t hesitate to follow her. Candy walked with confidence, something Angie tried to imitate the first two hallways were empty, though she could see plenty of people through the glass window panes on the out side of the doors. Through one door she saw an inactive ghost floating in a large tank attached to several wires. Life support most likely.

When they rounded the next hall way there was a tall brown haired woman with glasses, Candy nodded courtly to her, and the woman returned the gesture, non the wiser. Angela tried her best to not make eye contact. Candy opened a door that led to a staircase that descended to another level of the Facility.

*******
Meryn was flipping through some of her notes on the Celeste project. She had expected Gavin was going to get angry with her when she told him about Celeste, to her surprise he had taken it rather well.

Gavin had a bead reputation for losing his temper, after working for him for three months, she knew that the reputation was very true. She had seen him kill people that had brought him what he considered to be bad news, she also knew that he was the Facility’s best assassin.

As she walked down the hallway, she thought about Celeste. She was perfect. More deadly than any ghost, more deadly than even Gavin. She to wondered, what destruction Celeste was going to take on this world. She passed by two other female techs, she nodded to them, the blonde nodded back.

‘I hope that Celeste is not as malevolent as the other experiments…with her powers, she could condemn us all if she wished.’
