Chapter 13

Chapter 13

Spirit frowned at Natalie. “What are you talking about I saved the ship so I would not die.”

Natalie lowered the laser. The five additional units moved closer.
“You were supposed to be with Bronwyn.”

Spirit frowned again. “How do you know about Bronwyn?”

An eleven-inch spike suddenly slammed into the Jeri units behind Natalie. They slumped to the floor crackling with sparks flying from their bodies due to the holes in their chests.Natalie turned the laser towards the attackers.Spirit pulled it from her hands. Natalie looked up at him as he stood over her.

“You were going to hurt me.” Natalie eyes widened as Spirit raised the laser towards her face.

“Who did you bring on this ship?” Two asked coming from the wall.

”Greenwich is in Hammer’s Lair and he will take Jayme from here you will never reach there in time. Hammer’s power is fading.”

One leaned against the wall.Nine the medic droid held him up. “We must see to the attackers.”

Spirit growled at Natalie, forced her into her room, and sealed the door shut. “I will save her for later.”

Asel threw Jayme down on the bed as she struggled against him. “Resistance is futile Jayme you should relax so it will be more enjoyable for you.” He ripped her shirt.

I watched the material fly through the air and land beside Four who is cowering with energy loss. He looks over at me kneeling on the floor.

Greenwich smiles at me. “I think he will be gentle considering the child.”

“I will crush you Greenwich.”

The Jeri units increased the enzyme into Hammer. I groaned in pain that was coursing through my body. Asel began sucking at Jayme’s breasts with zeal. I could hear her sobbing.

“Jayme” My voice is weak.

Asel parted her thighs as more of the droids entered the room.
I sense familiarity in them. Spirit is their prisoner. Greenwich smiles at them.

“Spirit I am most disappointed you decided to side with Hammer.”

The two red Jeri units increased the enzyme and Hammer started shaking. One fell to the floor. The black Jeri unit advanced finding that strange. Spirit tackled one of the red Jeri units breaking the concentration of the other. The enzyme stopped and Hammer’s recovery was immediate.

Asel was thrown off Jayme and Seven guarded her as Four advanced towards Hammer’s former friend.

I stood erect before Greenwich, as he smelled of fear and something else I care not to mention. The black Jeri unit as expected came and stood before his creator to protect him.

I smile. “I will use your outer metal to repair my Lair.”

The red Jeri units were stomped and ripped apart by my other droids. Spirit grabbed Greenwich when he tried to run.

Spirit smiled at him. “I am most disappointed with you Greenwich.”

He chuckled at Spirit. “You think it is that easy to keep me here.”

Spirit smiled until Greenwich began to dissolve into a mass of metal.

“Decoy the real Greenwich would never come here.” The Black Jeri unit said circling Hammer.

I growl and strike quickly knocking the unit to the floor with the simple touch of my palm. He looks up surprised at me. The Unit stands and looks at Asel who was in a headlock administered by Four.
The unit grips his sword tighter and looks for a way to escape; he can feel my power flowing and it will crush him. He looks at me and drops his sword.

I advance. “You should know that there is a spy aboard your ship.”

“Who is it?”

The unit dissolves into smoking metal.

Asel struggled in Four’s grip until released and I stood before him.

“Why did you turn?”
Asel looked at Spirit who came closer. “He has Bronwyn and he also has you.”

Spirit frowned. “You would risk the lives of this ship because of Bronwyn wanting me. Asel you are an information droid all you have to do is access any computer and found out about her.”

Jayme came closer to the discussion. “What does Bronwyn do on your ship?” Jayme asked Spirit.

“She is a communication specialist.”

“Why is she here with you and the Captain if you have Asel?” Hammer asked Spirit who became quiet.

Asel looked at Spirit. “She was fooling you also wasn’t she Spirit.” Asel smiled until Four put him back in the headlock.

“Secure my ship, and bring the Captain Natalie and Bronwyn to me.”

Greenwich fighter

“Sir they have failed and Hammer’s shield is back on line.”

Greenwich slammed his hand down on the arm of his commander’s chair. “Plot a course for Spectra; he will follow to try and end this for his child’s sake and we will be waiting.”

Ship Prime

“Commander the battle cruisers are leaving.”

Even though the Jeri units were still in the bridge, the crew cheered. The four Jeri units sense the droid approaching and turn to face the door as it opened.Four stood there alone ready for battle. The four Jeri units dissolved into smoking metal.Four growled in anger and walked from the bridge.

Natalie was trying to pick the circuits in the door when it opened and One of Hammer’s droid grabbed her by the hair and dragged her from the room.

Bronwyn sat on her bed waiting for the Jeri unit that was to come and capture her so she could have an excuse to leave the ship. The door opened but it was not the Jeri unit; it was Spirit.

“What has happened?”

“Greenwich has failed.”
Bronwyn sighed. Spirit wore no facial expression.

“Is Jayme alright?”

Spirit closed his eyes as she walked away. “How do you know about Jayme?”

Bronwyn froze. There she had done it. He knew about her with one wrong question.Spirit heard her sigh again.

“You don’t understand Greenwich he wants to help the Earth.”

“He wants to rule the Earth Bronwyn. Your family is there how you can side with a man who wants to kill his own kind does not analyze. Neither Hammer nor I will allow him to leave Spectra alive.”

Bronwyn turned with tears in her eyes. “Then you will die.”

“Then I will die doing what I was programmed to do protecting the humans from threats and Bronwyn you are a threat.”

Her tears fell down her cheeks as she gripped the laser behind her back. Spirit stood there watching her raise the laser and fire at him. The beam struck him but did nothing.Bronwyn looked at him surprised.

“The Jeri unit metal is laser resistant. I must thank Two for that advice he is a tactical droid.”

Bronwyn dropped the laser as Spirit advanced towards her. Her tears made him hesitate. He grabbed her in his arms and Bronwyn cried against his chest. Spirit closed his eyes.

“I loved you Spirit.”

She felt him shake. Humanoids did not shake unless they were losing tremendous power. He held her around the waist with one arm while the other grabbed the side of her face and snapped her neck. Spirit let her body slide down to the floor as he stood there for a moment and then slowly walked out of the room and into the hall where Two waited for him. Spirit walked by silently. Two walked into the room, picked Bronwyn up, and carried her from the room and towards the medical bay.
