Chapter Twelve: Loose ends
It was Yule time, and the family was finally back to normal. Kessie and Connor got up early that morning and woke up Raquella and Lucilla.
\"Mommy, which present do we open first?\" Kessie said, looking at the presents scattered around the tree.
\"Dat one!\" Connor said happily, he was now almost one year old. He had no memory of the kidnaping.
Raquella and Lucilla sat down as Kessie and Connor ripped into a large square package.
\"A PUPPY!\" Kessie squealed. \"She’s adorable Mama, I love it Mommy!\"
Connor giggled as the puppy licked his hands and face.
\"What are we going to name her?\" Lucilla said.
\"How about June?\" Kessie said, \"After my best friend ever!\"
Raquella and Lucilla looked at each other, she didn’t remember why June was her best friend, and they hoped that they never would.
The children continued ripping into presents in the background, as Lucilla handed Raquella one small present.
Raquella opened it up to find a nice silver necklace, engraved with their names on a small silver heart, lined with diamonds. On one side, it said \"Raquella, Lucilla, Kessie, Connor.\" And on the other side, it said, \"FAMILY\"
Raquella and Lucilla shared a kiss, much to the delight of their daughter, who giggled and just went on ripping into presents. Connor had fallen asleep with one of his presents and their lives were perfect.
