What once was lost now is found

NCIS Office

Naval Station

Pearl Harbor, HI

Director Jason Hunt stuck his head outside his door, barking an order for his car to be brought around, then for his secretary to get in his office.

Leila Quillen runs for the door to Hunt’s office, slipping in quietly with a notepad in hand. Everyone in the office is intimidated by Jason Hunt. An ex Secret Service Agent, he leaves a commanding presence wherever he may go, leading his team of NCIS agents with the confidence gained from twenty years of service.

Leila’s voice quivers as she speaks, "Sir, you called for me?"

"Leila, I need you to arrange a Sea King out of here ASAP, with an Independent Duty Corpsman on board outfitted for a trauma case. I want a Master at Arms, and myself on that bird. I also need you to send an alert message to the Bremerton office that we have located their missing agent, McCaffrey, and will have her in custody within the hour, details to follow. Can you do that?" Hunt’s voice carried in the large office.

Leila nodded confidently, "Yes Sir. Consider it done as of now." With that she turned on her heel, heading for communications. Within fifteen minutes the Bremerton office had their alert message, with a confirmation of information received returned, a Sea King was manned and waiting for Agent Hunt at Ford Island.

A humvee waited outside the office, to carry Hunt to Ford Island. The ride across base was short, giving Hunt enough time to make a personal call to Mick Eldridge in the Bremerton office. Hunt assured Eldridge upon arrival at Naval Hospital Pearl Harbor, McCaffrey would be under twenty four guard by Marine detail. Eldridge was readying his personal jet to meet Hunt at the hospital when he returned with McCaffrey.

It was going to be a long night, not to mention an even longer investigation into how this happened to McCaffrey, to bring the right people to justice.

Mick Eldridge cheered at the news coming from the Pearl Harbor office. Kellie McCaffrey had been found, and alive! He sent down order for his personal jet to be readied, as he placed a call to the McCaffrey home in Everett. A young woman answered, informing Eldridge that Matt had returned to training at Coronado, but she would keep a message for him that Eldridge called.

Mick thanked her, then placing a call to Capt. Taylor at the SPECWAR training command, only to find out that GM1 Matt McCaffrey was on Mercer Island, conducting evasion training, and would be gone for the next two weeks. Taylor took the message, passing it onto Master Chief Sullivan’s chain of command.

The message would sit on the Yeoman’s desk for two weeks until Charlie squad returned from their prowl and growl.

Eldridge sighed as he sank back into his seat.

He only hoped that Kellie would be alive when he landed in Hawaii, that there would be some shred of evidence to bring the criminals to justice. Something to link Chris Jenkins’ murder to Kellie’s disappearance, something to hold up in a court of law.
