“You're out of your fucking mind!”

“Akira.” Jett was looking between the two. Mitch and Akira were sitting at the table, in their own home talking when Mitch had brought up the four months. “Just listen will you.” Jett was in his work cloths and Mitch was dressed in a tee-shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans.

“What’s there to talk about, how he probably feels sorry and wants to make up for it.”

“Akira!”

“I’m not doing it!” He leaned back and looked away.

“Stubborn little…”

The black haired male sighed and shook his head. “Akira, what if Diter tries to attack you?”

“I fight back.”

“And you lose.” Mitch muttered.

Akira glared at him and Mitch gave him that look. You know the one that you get when they know it will happen but are afraid they won’t live through it. He sighed and leaned forward, “When do I leave?”

They both smiled and Akira looked away once again. “You’ll be leaving at the end of the week.”

“What about my classes?”

“We talked to the teachers, we’ve basically got them thinking it’s one of those family traditions thing, like coming of age or the rite of passage into man hood type of thing.”

Jett nodded, “So you’ll be able to finish your classes when you get back.”

“Okay.”

“Where will I be going?”

“We’ll meet up at the cabin and then go from there.”

“Sounds like fun.” He placed his chin in his hand and sighed. “For the record I’m going against my will.”

“Noted.”

Akira stood up and looked at the two; he shook his head and walked out of the room. Mitch’s head hit the table and Jett sighed. “Hot damn that was easier than I thought!”

The black haired male looked at Mitch and found caramel brown eyes looking at him. “What?”

“You still mad at me?”

Jett looked away and Mitch sighed, “I’m not mad just still thinking.”

The dark haired male pulled him closer and Jett’s head turned towards him. “Can I try again?”

He laid his head on the table and looked at him. “Okay I’ll give you another chance but you have to promise you won’t do anything stupid again.”

“I can’t with my leg like this.”

“I know, but you’ll still try.” Mitch reached over and lightly brushed his hand over Jett’s cheek.

“Guess you’ll have to keep me in line then.” He started laughing when Jett scowled, “Okay I’ll be good.” The black haired male slid his hand into Mitch’s and gave smile.

“You’ll have to work hard though.”

“I know.” He closed his hand around Jett’s. “I know.”

Akira stood outside the room as he heard everything; everything was going to be back to normal. He walked up the stairs and into his room. Pulling things opened he walked into the closet and came out with a large duffle bag. He figured he might as well pack.

Keir looked up from his book when he heard a knock at the room door. He had on a black long sleeve shirt and a pair of baggy cargo pants. “Yes.”

The door opened and Rune peeked in, “Um… I can’t find Zev, so can you pass a message along to Akira.”

“What is it?”

“Well…um… I’ll be at Kai’s for the next few days.”

“I’ll tell him.” He was about to turn around, “Rune.”

“Yes.”

“Don’t let people push you around.”

He was half hidden behind the door but Keir caught the blush, “I’ll try not to.” Then he closed the door.

Keir smirked and looked back at the book. ‘Hmmm, I wonder.’ He closed the book and turned to the computer. ‘He did say he was in a band.’

Marianela looked around till she spotted Ransom running around in the mascot outfit. She sighed and grabbing a bottle of water ran up to him. The blonde woman stopped short when he tried to spin around only to fall down. “Nice landing.”

Ransom scrambled to his feet and rubbed the back of his head. He then realized that his mask was still on. So he pulled it off. “What are you doing here for? Isn’t practice not till next week?”

She smiled and held out the bottle full of water. “You spaced again this morning.”

“Ack… I did forget it! I thought someone pilfered it.”

He saw the smile on her face and he grew embarrassed, “You’re so silly Rune.”

The male looked down to hide the blush, “Come on, Marianela I’m not that funny.”

“Yes you are. You can make me laugh.”

“I guess.”He looked upset so Marianela smiled and kissed him on the cheek. He went red and almost tripped over himself from shock. She started laughing and he looked at her. “You just……”

“Yes I did.” She helped him up onto his feet. “You want to do something tomorrow?”

“Just me and you?”

“Yes.”

“Okay!!”

Marianela smiled and she turned to leave, Ransom hugged her from behind. “What is it?”

“Just making sure I’m not dreaming.” She tipped her head back and looked at his face.

“I’m pretty sure this is real.”

“Good.”

Zev flipped through the pages and then sat up when he heard the front door open. He was out of his seat when he heard his mother. “I told you this would happen, it had happened before with Zev and Keir but only they were born two months early.”

Caden sighed as Dawn scolded him. They saw Zev. “Zevvie!”

“So?”

“You still not off the hook!”

“Damn it…”

Dawn laughed as Caden frowned, “You act like being an Alpha is bad.”

“I’m not good at it!”

“To bad Keir wasn’t a wolf.”

“Yes to bad….” You could hear the sarcasm dripping from the comment as Keir walked up to hug Dawn. “So?”

“I still have two months left. They wanted to hold me for another couple days just to make sure, since it happened with you two.”

Zev was hugged by his mother and she walked off, more like waddled. But if you said that out loud you might suffer a mother’s wrath. Caden looked at Zev, “I’ll be telling everyone at the end of this winter.” The wolf sighed, “You can bring someone along if you want.”

“Okay.”

Keir watched as his brother stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked off. “You want him to take the lead?”

“You think I was ready to take lead of a pack?”

Akira sat in the tree house he held the paint brush in his hand as he looked at the finished painting. He stood up and walked over to the window. “Four months huh?”

He turned and looked around the room. His eyes went back to the window and he walked back over to place the items in his hands down. He picked up his pack of cigarettes and a lighter. Walking back over to the window he stood there as he lit a cig and breathed out a thin stream of smoke. As the sun started to set he turned as he saw a reflection of light. The clear sphere was reflecting the suns light back at him; he walked over and picked it up.

‘What is this thing for?’ Something moved and he looked closer at the sphere.

“Akira!” The door to the tree house slammed open and it startled him. He dropped the sphere and it rolled across the floor. The twenty two year old glared at the noise maker. It was Ransom, “Guess what?”

“Noisy mutts need to leave!” He let out a stream of smoke as he turned around.

“But… me and Marianela are going to go out tomorrow.” He looked at him. “You don’t believe me do you?”

“About time you get a back bone, now leave!” Akira started to push him out the door.

“But…”

“No, leave!” He shut the door and pulled the cig from his mouth. “Damn.” He rubbed his forehead and sighed. There was knocking on the door. “Go away mutt!”

“Now I feel very…” the door opened a crack. “Hello.”

“what do you want?”

“To talk.” Daisuke was smiling.

“I’m busy.” He went to shut the door but he stopped it. The shorter brunette glared at the man, “Let go.”

“Fine.” Akira grunted as his full weight slammed the door shut. “I’ll just leave it outside.” It grew quiet and he finally grew curious, so he cracked the door. He looked out and then saw something sitting on the railing. It was a round black fuzz ball with white wings and a little devils tail.

“Akira, you dropped your toy.” A woman picked it up and handed him the stuffed black toy. “Don’t forget Fuzz Ball.”

He picked it up and looked at it, ‘It’s so small.’

“I found him in the rubble.” He whipped around and saw him sitting on a tree branch. “It was the only thing not to get burned. Well I’ve got to go say hello to my sister.” Daisuke waved and then slipped into a black hole.

He held it up and looked at it as he walked back into the tree house. “Why?” the brunette sat it on a shelf as he walked by and took a seat in front of the easel. He stared at the finished canvas, “I’m so confused.”

Zev walked up to the house just as the door opened. He came face to face with Akira and he smiled, “What’s up?” the wolf was wearing a pair of faded jeans and a hoodie. The sun glinted off the piercings in his ears and the one that was in his eyebrow.

“What are you doing here?” Akira had on a pair of slim fitting jeans and a long sleeve shirt that showed off some of his shoulders. You could see some of the scar and the barcode tattoo.

“I came to see if you wanted to hang today.”

“I was about to go and get Rune. He wants to stop by your place for some odd reason.”

“Can I tag along?”

“Why?”

“Cause if I hear another word about Alpha spots I’m going to go stay with Star again.”

“Do whatever you want.”

“Thanks.”

Akira and Zev walked along the side walk. “Why are we walking?”

“I can’t drive.”

“What?”

“No it’s more along the lines I’m not allowed to.”

Zev gave him a confused look, “Why?”

“I tried to run Marianela’s last boyfriend over.”

“I’ll try not to piss you off.”

Akira glanced at Zev and then smirked. “What you? You’re so harmless.”

Zev looked at him, “Are you sure about that?”

“Very sure.”

The two ended up outside a one story house. Akira knocked on the door and waited, Zev stood by the street. When the door opened Akira smirked, “Nice.”

“Oh, hi Akira.”

“Hi Kai.” Kai was shirtless and his red eyes looked down at Akira. “Where’s Rune?” He had a pair of sweats that hung on his hips.

“He’s still sleeping.”

“Hmmm, time to wake him up.” The brunette pushed past him and he made his way over to a room in the back. It helped that he had brushed against Kai. He pushed the door opened and looked around. Then he went in completely. Rune was curled up on the bed sleeping so Akira grabbed the blanket and yanked it out from under him. The small male yelped as he thudded to the ground. “Time to get up!”

He grabbed the edge of the bed and pulled himself up. “Damn it Akira!”

“You wanted me to pick you up, you should know by now to be up and ready before I get here.”

“Damn.” His skin around his eye was still discolored. “Give me ten minutes I’ll be ready to leave.”

Akira nodded and walked out of the room, he felt an arm snake around his waist. “You okay?”

“Yeah I’m fine.”

“So who’s the wolf?”

“He’s the one that helped out.”

“Ah.”

“You busy this week?”

“I’m leaving at the end of this week.”

Kai blinked, he let go and walked over to the couch to flop down on it. “Where to?”

“Apparently I have a father that’s alive. He wants to train me for four months.” Akira sat down next to him and Kai smiled.

“You should be happy.”

“I know but I don’t know how to feel right now.”

“So you’re confused.”

“Yeah.”

“There’s a first for everything.”

“So I’m told.”

“When you get back want to spend some time together?”

“Depends.” He muttered. His head had rested against his shoulder and then there was a knock at the door.

“It’s unlocked!”

The door opened and Zev looked in, “Hey Akira…” He fell short and for a second he seemed down.

“Yeah, what is it?”

“When we leaving?”

Akira shrugged, “When ever Rune finishes getting dressed.”

“Okay.” Zev closed the door and sighed.

“Your friend seems upset.”

“Hmmm, I think he found out what I prefer.”

“It’s not that bad. Are Mitch and Jett back together?”

He didn’t answer but he let out a sigh.

“So he’s with Jett.”

“Yeah.”

“Hate to interrupt but I’m ready.” Rune was standing next to couch. He had on his dark green cargos and a black shirt with a messily drawn white star on the front. His jacket was over his shoulder and he had a beanie on his head.

“About time.”

“Thanks Kai.”

“No problem.”

“If he comes by don’t tell him where I went.”

“I won’t.” Akira stood up and Kai grabbed his hand. “At least he’s willing to help you learn about yourself.”

The short male tipped his head to the side. “Are we going?”

“Yeah.”

“See ya Kai!” He ran up to the door, opened it and ran out.

“Bye Kai.” Kai watched as he pulled the door closed and he smiled as he saw the three walk down the sidewalk.

Rune ran up the steps as Zev and Akira stood outside. “I heard your leaving.”

“That hearing of yours is going to get you killed one of these days.”

“How long will you be gone?”

“Four months.”

“Wow, it’s going to be boring.”

“I wonder why Rune wants to stop here.”


“Keir are you here?”

Keir looked up to see Rune run past the room he was in. “Rune.” The small male skidded to a stop and walked back to that room. “What is it?” It had been four days since Rune was here. When Rune looked at him he had a hard time finding his voice. The black haired male had on a black tank top, a pair of black pants, and was barefooted.

“Um… well…”

“Spit it out.”

“Are you doing anything this weekend?”

“Not that I know of… why?”

“My band is playing at the club and well...”

“I’ll try to make it.”

“Really!” Rune grew excited and without think hugged him. “Yay! Thanks…” The small male jumped away and looked at the ground, “Sorry!”

He turned and ran out of the room just as Zev walked in, “What was that about?”

“Rune just asked me to go see his band play.”

“Wow, cool!”

“I’m going to go.” He turned back to the book in his hands.

“Okay,” he walked over to the back door and whistled. Lobo came running into the room. “I’m going for a run.”

“Okay.”
