chapter eleven

Please read and review. Also, I’m so sorry for the long wait. I’m a terrible person. Please forgive me for my misdeeds, etc, and so forth. On a further note... I love you all! Thank you for the support and the well round praise/criticism. All right, then. If that is all settled...

::nothing false and possible- chapter eleven::

Stephen sat in the middle of Chorus class flipping his pencil up in the air and staring down at Mr. Stevenson, from the high rise. They had been spending their whole class time watching The Sound of Music, since the school year was almost up. Instead of watching the movie, however, Stephen had watched the teacher. He could see what Alec had seen in the man, definitely. He had a nice well-defined shape, even if he was on the shorter side of average. His hair wasn’t short but it wasn’t shaggy either. His ass was nice… really nice. Where teacher’s allowed to wear their pants that tight? Stephen grunted and dropped his head back, while letting the pencil clatter to the floor.

Jacob looked up at the highest platform where his tenors and baritones sat. Stephen was staring at the ceiling, presumably waiting for the spackling to mildew and fall from the sky. ‘Better than him staring at me, I suppose.’ Jacob had become very uncomfortable since the start of his third block class. He knew that Alec was honest with all of his lovers, but really… Couldn’t he have lied to this one kid? Jacob made up his mind to tell Stephen the how he felt, when Stephen grunted over nothing in particular. “Stephen, can you come into my office please?” Jacob turned toward his sound proof office and sighed when he reached the solace behind the walls. He looked through the windows and saw that Stephen was slowly making his way to join him.

Stephen walked into the office and shut the door behind him. If anything was going to be said, it needed to be said in a room where no one could hear. Stephen glanced at the blinds and made a face. Should he keep them open?

“They’ll become a little too curious, if we close the blinds. Just leave them open.” Jacob took a seat behind his desk and motioned for Stephen to have a seat. “What seems to be the problem, Stephen? You didn’t come in for the session this morning and you have been giving me the evil eye all day.”

Stephen picked a chair and sat down with a sigh. “I… I’m in the middle of a relatiip… ip… No, I’m in the beginning of a relationship, but… I’m having a hard time dealing with the idea of one of my partner’s past lovers.”

“Why didn’t you come to me about this before school? I’m sure I can help you sort it out.” Jacob steepled his fingers and made a face. “Is the past lover a threat to your happiness? I mean… Is he or she getting in the way?”

Stephen shook his head. “Not necessarily. He’s just… He’s you.” Stephen stared the other man down and quirked a brow. “But you already knew that, didn’t you?”

Jagringrinned, wryly, and nodded. “That would be an affirmative. You have nothing to worry about, Stephen. I don’t want to ruin your happiness any more than I want to ruin Alec’s or Andy’s.” Jacob looked down at his desk a picked up a stack of papers, straightening them. “If you were going to worry about someone, I would make sure it was Andy.” Jacob grinned wider. “She may like to give her dad hell, but she will be damned if someone will steal his attention from her.”

Stephen nodded and groaned. He looked out the window and met eyes with a very confused young woman. Little did she know that she was the topic of discussion. “Why can’t things be easier?”

Jake laughed and shook his head. “Because you are eighteen and beautiful, things should come easy. You changed your stars the moment you stepped into the solace of an older man’s arms.”

Stephen rolled his eyes and chuckled. “Fuck you, Jake.”

Jacob laughed quietly and shook his head. He pointed at Stephen and grinned. “Save that for Alec.”

Stephen grinned and rubbed at his shoulder. He could still feel the bruise left behind from where Alec bit him, a few nights before. Stephen, then, looked down at his wrists and grinned. Alec must had been a boy scout at one time cause that man could tie some good knots. \"Want to see some battle scars? You can actually pick out the separate teeth marks on my shoulder and my wrists are still chafed.\"

Jacob groaned, melodramatically, as he waved the boy away. He looked back down at his desk and shook his head as if annoyed. “Get outta’ here, kid. You bother me.”

Stephen bit back a laugh and pushed himself out of his seat. He headed toward the door and stopped when Jake called his name, once more.

“Stephen? The principal was going to tell you, but since I am your mentor… I begged to have the privilege. You were picked as Valedictorian. Congratulations.”

The Chorus class broke into a heated discussion, which quickly turned into a gossip session, as they were graced with a whoop and a holler that, inexplicably, came from none other than Mr. Stevenson’s office. In the midst of the ruckus sat Andrea Davidson, biting her lip and trying to figure out the relationship between Stephen and everyone’s favorite teacher.

After Chorus had been let out, the kids were still discussing the weird occurrence during class. Stephen didn’t care that the others were discussing him. He ignored it in blissful silence. He was the valedictorian, after all. Why should he care about anything at this point?

Andrea just pondered and fumed, until she actually met up with Stephen in front of her locker. Then, the dams burst. \"You shouldn\'t sleep with older men. They will only hurt you.\" Andrea sniffed and sighed, as she shoved her books into her locker. \"I don\'t want to be forced to choose between saying \'I told you so\' and just killing the guy.\"

Stephen\'s jaw hung open and he shook his head. \"Andrea, I don\'t know what you are talking about.\" It was a lie. A flat out lie. Stephen automatically hated himself for it.

Andrea nodded her head and scrunched up her little nose before tossing herself at Stephen and throwing her arms around his neck. \"Why couldn\'t you just fuck Leo? You guys are so compatible and you love each other!\" Andy pressed her face into Stephen\'s neck and sighed, gustily. \"I love you both and if either one of you hurts the other one...\" Andrea dropped back down to her feet and looked up into Stephen\'s eyes. \"Yuck uck him over and I\'ll kill you. He practically helped raise me.\"

\"Andrea, I would nev...\" Practically helped raise her? \"What the hell are you talking about?!\"

\"Stephen, is there a problem?\"

Stephen looked over to his side and saw his Assistant Principal standing next to him, with a grim look on his face. He realized a few things at that moment. First off, nobody else was in the hallway except for him, Andy, and Mr. Rodriguez. Secondly, Andrea was draped over his body like a clingy blanket. Third of all, he had screamed \'hell\' really loud... in front of the disciplinarian of the school. \"Shit.\" He muttered.

Mr. Rodriguez smirked. \"Shit, indeed.\" The tall man sighed and rolled his eyes, which was a strange thing to see the stoical man do. \"I hope you don\'t use word like that in your speech. We may hold your diploma, if you do.\"

Stephen chuckled, uncomfortably. \"Yeah, I\'ll keep that in mind.\"

The Assistant Principal nodded at Andy and grinned. \"Don\'t handle the ladies, Stephen. It\'s not proper.\"

Andrea barked out a laugh and shook her head. \"It was all my fault.\" Andrea took a couple of steps back. \"It won\'t happen again.\"

Mr. Rodriguez nodded and turned away from the two teenagers. He headed down the hallway and turned back just to give onetherther piece of advice. \"Go to class or you both get detention.\"

Andrea turned toward her locker and grabbed up her book for her next class. She slammed the locker shut and before running to her next class, she grabbed Stephen into a brief kiss. \"I love you, Stephen, but if you hurt Jake...\" She paused for emphasis and narrowed her eyes, \"...I will castrate you.\"

Stephen watched his friend hurry down the hall and shook his head. \"Jake?\" Stephen groaned and grabbed his cell phone out of his pocket. He waited for the ringing to stop and grinned when he heard a lazy voice on the other end of the phone. \"Guess who your daughter thinks I\'m screwing.\"

Leo sat back on the bed and sighed. He had been waiting two hours for Stephen to come home. He had napped a quarter of the time and the rest of the time had been spent daydreaming about good times with his closest friends. Leo closed his eyes and smiled over a particular good time he remembered. It involved being suspended from a shower curtain rod and smelling like lilacs for three days straight.

\"Is there anything I can get you, Leo, sweetie?\" Stephen\'s mom popped her head inside the door and smiled at the youth. He was lying back with his eyes closed, smiling impishly. \"Having sweet dreams, darling\'?\"

Leo opened an eye and grinned at the older woman. \"Now, I have no idea what you are talking about Mrs. McDaniel. I was just content to be lying in such a lovely room. Did you decorate in here? I know Stephen couldn\'t have done this on his own.\" Leo was only partly sincere about the room. It was very relaxing, but green was not his favorite color.

Stephen\'s mother grinned and took a step in the room, admiring the almost hunter green wall color and the way everything tied into it. \"Yes, I did this for Stephen. He\'s not color blind, but you wouldn\'t know it, the way he is with picking out paint.\"

Leo chuckled and nodded behind the woman. \"You have perfect timing, Lynette. Your son is standing behind you, scowling like something awful.\"

Mrs. McDaniel turned and pet her son\'s head. \"You know I love you, honey, but it\'s the truth.\"

Stephen gave his mother a peck on the cheek and shooed her away. He walked into his room and shut the door behind him. \"I suppose you have a reason for being here?\" He grumbled, while dropping his backpack on the floor and making a beeline to his bed. He sunk down next to his ex and took a deep breath, letting it out in a huff.

Leo turned on his side and ruffled his friend\'s short hair, playfully. \"You seem stressed. I probably shouldn\'t have come without calling.\" Leo pushed himself up, until he was sitting and then stood up and took a few steps toward the door. \"It seems you had a hard day. I can let you rest.\"

Stephen automatically felt like a jerk and he protested, quietly. \"Don\'t go, Leo.\"

Leo barely heard the plea, but it was loud enough to stop him in his tracks. \"What was that?\"

\"Don\'t leave.\" Stephen turned onto his stomach and smirked at his friend. \"I could use some company, even if it is just for companionable silence.\"

Leo walked back to the bed and plopped down in the space available. “How did it go?”

Stephen smirked and closed his eyes. He snuggled into the other boy’s side and chuckled. “You want me to kiss and tell?”

“I suspect you did a lot more than kiss the guy.” Leo hugged the older boy to his side and sighed. “Now, tell.”

Stephen shook his head. “I let him...”

Leo filled in the blank mentally and nodded. “He seemed to be more of a dominant, than a submissive. I had wondered how you guys were going to figure that one out.” Leo chuckled. “Remember how we figured it out? Or should I say -you- figured it out?”

Stephen shook his head and laughed. “You had the longer hair, so I said you could be the woman.”

Leo dropped his head back and sighed. “It’s not my fault I’m prettier than you. It’s lucky that I am a whore, or I might have been upset with that outcome.”

“Was.” Stephen jabbed Leo in the side, causing the younger man to wince.

“What was that?” Leo rubbed his sore side and looked down at his friend.

Stephen scowled up at Leo. “Was a whore, perhaps, but you said ‘am’. Am and was imply different things.”

Leo nodded and looked back at the green walls. “Was, then.” He stated stoically.

“Stephen?!” Lynette’s voice could be heard throughout the house. “It’s the phone! Some one named Brad!”

Stephen pushed himself up into a sitting position and picked up his phone. “Hello?”

Leo poked Stephen’s back and chuckled. “That the fuck buddy?”

All Leo got as an answer was a perfectly executed flip-off.

My friends and I snuggle together and flip each other off, constantly. Is that normal? What is normal? Is that damned chair really blue? Anyway…

*swats at Lucille, who just wants more sex scenes* I hate these darned plot bunnies, sometimes. *plot bunny snuggles into lap and falls to sleep* I gave her a Valium… I hear that reviews work as a wonderful placebo, as well… *hint hint*
