All Hallow’s Eve
Blood and flesh, sinew and bone;Beware the creature who follows the moon;
Fur and eyes, fang and claw,
Is it the great wolf that you saw?
Eyes of yellow and teeth of white;Skin as cold as the heartless night;
Death he embraces yet to life he clings;
Beware the bite the blood drinker brings.
A mist, a light, a chill in the air;A mournful moan that stands up your hair;
Something undone, a soul lost in the ether,
Was it but a shadow or is something there.
A cauldron she tends, a potion she brews;Old or young, her fate she did choose;
It’s your soul she wants, raven or white of hair;
A hex is her weapon, be she foul or be she fair.
All Hallow’s Eve, or Halloween to you;Beware all that walk the night; claw, bone, or shoe;
Tis not for candy nor treats they stalk the mist;
But the souls of innocence, their blood, their breath; that is their wish.
But fear not my nervous friend;Not all the ghouls you meet wish your end;
Some just desire a treat so sweet;
Just a child with a mask and scurrying feet.
For All Hallow’s Eve is now gone, and Halloween rules land;No wolf beast to howl, no witch to wave her wand;
No vampire to bite bare throat, nor ghoul to haunt the darkest of nights;
The magic is gone, and to me, my good friend, that is the greatest of frights.
