FRAGMENT 11
“He didn't do anything Mother!” Delmir shouted. He was seated across from her, while she was eating her breakfast.
“Even so, this is the perfect time to get rid of the whelp. I don't know why your father kept him around. He hated the creature,” she spoke, popping a bit of soft bread in her mouth.
“And what will you have us do with him Mother? Sell him with the next crop of foals?”
“Oh, heavens no! He will be disposed of accordingly,” she spoke between another bite.
Delmir stood up, slamming his fists down on the table.
“No! I am the man of the house now, and I say no! He stays!” Delmir seethed.
“You have just turned seventeen. You are not a man yet. I have sent word to your nephew. He has been home a few months now, and has grown into a fine man. We will see what he says regarding the issue, because your father has put him in charge of the household until you come of age.”
Delmir threw his plate across the floor, sending porcelain everywhere, before storming out.
