Lost
Lost written 10/10/2009
i drift along in a fog so blue,
never seeming to know where to go.
that path i set out on has faded,
a coldness comes over me.
my world is freezing, almost dying,
my pain is getting to great to bear.
i want to fight but am losing the will,
to fight, to survive, to just live.
ive become a burden beyond belief,
im shoved left and right,
pushed away never pulled close,
misery is my company, depression is my life.
my wishes and dreams,
will never come true.
my hopes are replaced by fears,
the light slowly leaving.
i look to others to find a new hope,
yet they all have their own problems.
i walk towards the shadow,
where once i did dwell.
unable to stop,
unable to sleep,
unable to eat,
unable to think.
i spin in a circle of confusion,
my mind no longer my own.
confusion, depression, sadness and pain
block my every step i take.
i look ahead in the fog around me,
seeing a flicker of light shining through.
a guardian is revealed,
from shadows so dark.
holding a hand out
to help me find the way
to push past the darkness
threatening to consume me
my lost path is left behind,
a new path beckons me.
as one set of dreams die,
another set is born.
