“MAGIC DOESN’T EXIST! THIS IS ALL JUST STUPID.” A voice yelled from the crowd.

She turned towards it. She so did not like being interrupted.

"Is that so? You don’t believe that stories are true? These stories are part of your heritage boy as is Magic. Magic is real." She stood a little straighter. "Those that went before you are part of who you are, without them you wouldn’t exist."

“If magic is real, Prove it old lady, none of that powder thing; it’s all a bunch of pyrotechnics”

She glared at the boy. "You should be more respectful. Now go sit down and listen. Perhaps you will learn something and you will definitely see magic by the time I am through."

“Hah! I am through listening to this liar” the boy stared to walk away. He was quite disappointed.

"Stop right there." She cast a bit of magic. "To that spot you will stay and listen to all that I say."

He boy looked at her, his body did as she had said, but he didn’t want it to. “What did you do?” he asked, a tad scared.
"You wanted magic, like they say, be careful what you wish for." she chuckled.

The boy looked at her, “I’ll tell my father what you did!” he threatened.

"And just what do you think your father can do?” She folded her arms and looked around at the crowd. "Anyone else have something to say?”

“What is going on here?” an dark voice came from behind the crowd.

“DAD!” the boy screamed.

She turned to face the voice. "Your boy was disrespectful so he is learning a lesson. Do not mess with magic."

The very large man looked at the boy. “Is that true?” he asked.

“No!” the boy responded. The man tried to pull the boy to him, but found that the boy was stuck to the spot.

She laughed. "The boy is going nowhere until my story is done. He does not believe in the stories or in magic so he will listen and learn from where he is."

The man was a little skeptical about magic, but his wife had shown some extra ordinary feats now and then. “Mind if I listen in too?” the man said, maybe this could shed some light on how she did it.

"Of course, all are welcome to hear and learn."

The man sat down beside the boy; at least if he could learn how to make the boy stay put he would have gained something.
