Ok, so this is interesting for two reasons. I'm actually writing in a very short time from each update. And that this chapter leads to a lot of questions. I myself am uncertain with the outcome. I have been since the start, so as a writer I must admit that these idea come while I'm actually writing it. There is so much going on in this story it seems alive. And, I like that idea actually. This is a story both you as a reader and appreciate and I as a writer can as well. While you are reading this for the first time, I am as well as I'm writing it. It is an interesting adventure to go on, writing, that is, and I love every minute of it. I see things coming and going, and in the end the right path will lead me to places that only imagination can take you. Imagine, if you will, and infinite amount of possiblities all colliding into one point, and the outcome is uncertain. That is the greatest thing about writing. You can conceive so much in one single moment and only one thing comes out onto that paper. So, in fact, this is a world in which you have created to be perfect and only time will tell how everything will be in the end.
Writing is fun. Writing is great. Writing... is life.
So, enjoy and remember.... IMAGINE!

//She looked around the corner and saw her mother talking on the phone. She could tell it was serious if not for the fact that it was the middle of the night. What was strangest was that it wasn’t long. She was only on for a few minutes before hanging up. All she got out of it was that she was meeting someone and soon. All the time she was in a daze because she woke up in the middle of the night. She hardly realized what was going on at the time. Before her mother could see her, she went back to bed and fell asleep.//
“Chloe,” the sweetest voice called to her, “it’s time to get up.”
“Good morning Tom.” She awoke with a brilliant grin on her face.
“Do I do that much for you?” He looked at her so tenderly; so caring, like there was something wrong.
“Of course you do.” She returned his concern with the most beautiful smile he had ever seen.
Still concerned, Tom was apprehensive to tell her, “Well. I think you were dreaming. And.” He paused. “It was about your mother.”
It was then that she remembered her dream. It was hard for her to remember her dreams. It was also equally hard to remember something that she experienced half asleep. She stopped smiling, and looked at Tom. “It wasn’t a long dream. I…” She had a look of surprise. “But I don’t think it really was a dream. I… how can it be? How? It was when my mother…” She started to cry. “I’ve got to go. Daddy… I’ve got to talk to daddy.”
If it wasn’t for Tom, she would’ve run outside without noticing how she was dressed. Together, they got dressed, as quickly as possible, and went over to her house. It really wasn’t that far, but it seemed that way to Chloe. If there was one thing she learned recently, it was to hold on to what you have at that time. All she had was her father. The greatest man on the earth, even greater than the man she loved. He had to know what happened. He always wondered what she was going to do. He had only let it slip up once. It haunted him.
By the time they got there, there was already a big crowd inside. She remembered what day it was. It was the day everyone found out that she had died. For three month, no one knew that she had died. It was because she stayed in the back all the time. Someone had been noticing that the orders were taking longer to get out, and finally asked about her. That was probably the only time the patrons saw her father breakdown.
It was at that time they collaborated to show the same manners that they had received there over the years. All day long people were coming in and the place was never empty. Every table she went by, she was greeted warmly. It almost made her cry. Tom asked what was going on, and she told him. He muttered something under his breath and they continued on through the gauntlet to David. Who was, thankfully, in the backroom.
“How many are out there?” He asked without looking up. “It’s been a couple hours since I’ve last looked.”
“It’s full.” Tom said. “Completely.”
“Daddy,” she really didn’t want to say something, not on this day, “I…”
He did look up now, “What the matter?”
“She had a dream last night.” He couldn’t say more that than. It wasn’t his place to.
“But,” he looked confused, “you never remember your dreams.”
It was too hard for her to say. Her throat was constricting, and her mouth wouldn’t move. She had to tell him, but… today? Why did it have to be today? Everything was fine now. Their lives were actually good now. It was that, that was making it harder; because, it was the same then as well. Everything was fine. It was all good. Was fate conspiring against them? It was all crashing again. Just like then, and she couldn’t contain it, “About mother.”
She was shaking so much. As she told it all to him, it wasn’t long, but she couldn’t speak all the time. Sputtering over a time of an hour, she told it all. All the while Tom was holding her. It was all coming back. He always had wondered why she was heading over to that side. She hadn’t been over there for any reason ever since they got together. She had no reason to. 'Unless', he thought, 'she was meeting him.' ”Nathan.”
They both looked at him. It was the first time Chloe had seen him like that. He actually had hate in him. He was always kind. She never thought she’d see the day that he would look like that. She had always wondered, just how bad a person had to be to make him angry. There was a person, though, and it made her wonder who it could be. 'Who is Nathan?' She couldn’t stop thinking about, even when he got up and left. She didn’t want to meet him. She didn’t want to know.
He got up and went to the car. He couldn’t stop thinking about it. The day she had died. After he heard, he didn’t think about where she was when she got killed. He never thought twice about it. He always wondered why she had gone out on her own to get more equipment. That’s what she had told him, she was going out to get more to service more people quickly. At that time, he remembered there was a specialty shop over there, so he didn’t think it odd.
He never would’ve thought about it if everything hadn’t happened. It was him, he knew. This never would’ve happened if he hadn’t given her that advice. He was glad that it happened, but, at the same time, he hated it. So much trouble had happened because of that man. He raped and killed her. Now he needed to know why she died, and he lived. He called him, which is something he didn’t think he would do. He asked where he was, and he went there.
“This is unexpected, David.” He said not unkindly.
“I’d have to agree with that.” He mustered all his strength to not sound threatening. “Never in a million years would I ever call you. Except.”
“Except what?” He was curious.
“If it wasn’t about Lily.” As he spoke her name shivers ran down his back. He couldn’t even continue. Both were at a stand still. The thought of Lily went through them both. David had lost her. Nathan had wanted her. He desired her so much, and the thought of not being with her crippled him. So, both couldn’t gain control of the situation, but there was hope in David. And it was that hope in him that helped him speak. His strength was gone when he said, “She came to meet you, didn’t she?”
Nathan could only nod. He could never have her now. So David continued on, “Why?”
Nathan opened his mouth to speak, but closed it again. He continued to do so for a minute or two fidgeting. Until he said, “David, I…” pausing, “I don’t know.” He didn’t let David interrupt, and tried to tell him. “I just don’t know. She had called me. I didn’t know why, but she did. I wasn’t even able to sleep that night. In the morning my wife woke up and noticed I had stayed up. She asked me if I had. And then I told her…
“I told her about Lily. I couldn’t handle it anymore. The thought of a baby that never knew her father, or her mother; it was too much for me. She listened to me the whole time. She didn’t even say a word. She didn’t show any emotion. None whatsoever. It killed me, because I had grown to love her. I kept pouring out all the horrible details of me being with Lily. I had hid it for so long and it was hurting me. I was absolutely horrible then.
“I changed though. Through the years, I became a better person because of it. I don’t deserve it though. Lily didn’t deserve to die either. Yet, this “god” of ours let her die. I loved her. I love her.”
“Stop!” He couldn’t handle that. “No, don’t blame someone else. It was your fault she had died. I’m not a religious man, but I know that God, if he’s out there, wouldn’t just let this happen. It’s not about that. Things happen for better or worse. And, I know you never loved her. I know you just wanted her. Don’t ask me why, but that’s it. I truly believe that. While you were with your wife, she was waiting here. Why didn’t you come? Tell me!”
“We got in a fight.” He finally realized that it truly was his fault. “I told her I loved her, but she didn’t believe me. Everything that was ceased that day. Now, Eveline and I share our son. I’m glad she gave me at least that. We were fighting over all of that. She wouldn’t stay with me. I was unsure at that time, and it cost me. I lost both her and Lily. I was supposed to meet her again, but she never showed. I’m sorry. Really, I am.”
“I,” he could see it, “I believe you. And as much as I hate it, I thank you for saying that.”
“So,” he looked at him hopefully, “you forgive me?”
“Yes.” He could let it go now. “Even after all you’ve done, I know what you are now. It is only because of that. I can forgive you now. I can see you’ve changed, Nathan. I may not like you, but I respect what you’ve just done. Now,” he thought of Samantha, “what are you going to do about Samantha?”
“I knew you would ask that.” He had saw it coming, and he had his answer ready now. “I’m going to tell her. I have to. I want to make up for what I’ve done. It’s not going to be easy, but I know I have to now.”
David knew he would tell. That’s why he had asked the first time. He saw it before Nathan even knew. The desire was too great. That is what Nathan does, he desires and it’s very powerful in him. His desires always come out. He only nodded to Nathan, and opened his car door. “That’s what I thought.” He got in and closed the door. Was this right? He didn’t know. He drove home and didn’t say a word for the rest of the day.
“Do you think she’ll be ok, Jimmy?” Mary asked leaning over her.
“I’ll be fine.” I woke up seeing Mary hovering over me.
“Well, good morning sleeping beauty.” Jim grinned at me. “Are we all rested now?”
“I don’t know.” Mary was wearing red sweater hoodie, “Little miss red riding hood woke me up make so much noise.”
He laughed, “I think that’s a yes then. Mary here was worried about you so I brought her here.”
“I was not!” She looked angry. Then she whispered to me, “Actually it was Jimmy that was worried.” She talked louder again, “Well, until you apologize to me, I’m not talking to you!”
“Apologize for what?” He looked perturbed.
Still acting angry she went to the door, “Well see if I say anything to you again!”
As she slammed the door, Jim said, “I think you just did!” He laughed again. “She’s acting silly.”
With a smile on his face, I asked “So, you were worried about me?”
“Ahh,” he grimaced and nodded, “so she told you. I guess that explains one thing.”
“Well you don’t have to worry about me.” I said sitting up, “I feel good.”
“You shouldn’t be up,” he said putting his hand on my chest. It lasted only for a second, but it felt so warm.
“Sorry.” He said backing up and turning around.
“I told you,” I got up and touched his shoulder, “I’m fine.” He turned around and looked at me for a second. Neither of us said anymore, and then… He kissed me.
After David had left, he thought about how to tell her. It was hard for him. It wasn’t the telling her that made it hard. It was the way of telling that made it hard. He would tell her no matter what now. It was something he had to do and he knew it now. He had known so when he had asked about Lily’s well being. He knew she was her daughter. He was glad that he covered it up so well in front of the three. How was he supposed to tell them now though? He noticed the time, though, and rushed over to his office.
He was the first there. He always was. It wasn’t four minutes till, when Jim and Mary came in. They were the last to come in, not counting Sam. Jim looked not quite as flushed as Mary was. He secretly wondered if the two of them actually started anything yet. He was always with Mary. She was a sweet girl, and he would’ve approved of the relationship. It was a side thought only, though. Most of his thoughts were of Samantha. He liked that name, and wondered if her adopted parents thought of it or… her.
“Ok,” he said, “I think we’re going to change the set up for the relay. I’ve looked at it careful. I believe the set up is the best chance we have for this team.”
He put the order up on the board, and every gasped, “It’s the only way. I trust these people to do what they can in these positions.”
Sara jumped out of her seat, “Why are you giving her special treatment!?! Jimmy should have that spot; not that bitch!”
“Why are you acting like this Sara?” He didn’t sound mad for once. “First it was when I said you’d be practicing with her, and now this.”
“Don’t play stupid coach!” She looked totally reviled. “You know why, it’s because you raped her mother! Everyone knows. She’s filthy!”
“What?” He looked at the other students, and saw that they were surprised as well.
Jerry looked at Sara, “Who told you that? I never knew, and I’ve known her most of my life.”
She looked around and saw everyone was surprised. “But… didn’t your parents tell you? My mom told me so. She’s been saying so for a long time. As long as I remember.”
Everyone said that they weren’t told as well. It was strange. Sara faltered for a moment, and looked at Nathan. “I… I’m sorry coach.”
Jim looked at his father. He knew him more than anyone else, and he didn’t act the way should’ve. “Is this true?”
Again, he didn’t act like he should, and answered, “I…” Jim got up and walked out the door. He knew; it was true. He liked her a lot. It wasn’t just a lot, and that’s the worst thing about it.

As I was writing this part, something interesting happened. It was amazing. I made this a real world and took on the parts of each person. People act differently and until you actually experience how they are, you won't know what they will do, but that's what writing is about. Becoming that person even if it's for a short while and do exactly what they would do. I may have created them, but to actually do what they would do instead of what I would do is the very essence of being a good writer. If you're writing, then remember one thing. The characters are not you. They are individual and as individuals they act in a certain way different that what you are. So, they are different than you.
Things are getting interesting. And this is not the end. Please review more. I would like to see what you guys are thinking about the development. What are you thoughts on it? Where do you think it's going? What do you expect? Tell me.
Ok, so this is interesting for two reasons. I'm actually writing in a very short time from each update. And that this chapter leads to a lot of questions. I myself am uncertain with the outcome.
Tell me.
