The hospital was in chaos. No one knew exactly what was going on. Everyone ran around trying to figure out how two girls had chunks missing from them.
Daniel and Savannah had arrived first. She had a hole in her stomach revealing the intestines within. Blood was everywhere. It covered her and Daniel, as well as anyone who got near her. Daniel was having hysterics, shouting that some maniac had gotten a hold of her. Savannah was thrashing around on the hospital bed, making it difficult for anyone but Daniel to touch her. When the doctor went to sedate her, Daniel pulled them back saying that she was allergic to all sedatives. No one questioned him. Hearing screams down the hall, he knew Phillip and Jaicyn had shown up.
Jaicyn was missing part of her chest and other random places on her arms and legs. But she wasn't lying down. She was having a full blown fight with security guards. She did not want them touching her and wasn't going to allow it at any cost. Phillip was trying to help calm her down but nothing was nothing was stopping her. These distractions were to hopefully give Edward and Randi enough time to get Faye out of the hospital.
It didn't take Edward that long to track Faye down by following her scent. She was restrained to a bed and heavily sedated. Enough to keep a shifter down. Randi unstrapped her and Edward helped her out of the bed. She could hardly stand. Edward had to support most of her weight.
"Randi?" Faye said groggily.
"Yeah, Faye, it's Randi. We're going to get you out of here now, alright?"
"Okay." she replied. Edward picked her limp body up into his arms and they started to leave the room.
"Randi! Do not move!" she heard someone yell. She turn to find Detective Lucas Cain at the other end of the hallway.
"Get her out of here and tell the others to go. I'll take care of this." she said quietly to Edward.
"No, I'm not leaving you."
"Go, now. I'll be alright. I'll catch up." she told him. Edward hesitated. He kissed her lips gently and disappeared.
"I want you to walk to me slowly." Lucas said. He had his gun pointed at her. Randi stared at him for a few moments before breaking out into a full out run toward Lucas.
"Randi, stop! Now!" he yelled. He did not want to pull the trigger but he would if he had to. Randi kept running. Lucas started to slowly squeeze the trigger
A sharp pain bit into Randi's side, causing her to collapse to the ground. Her body convulsed before she lay unmoving on the ground. Lucas pointed his gun at the ceiling and turned to the side. Aiden was standing a few feet away with a tazer gun her hands.
"At least one of us had the balls to pull the trigger." she said coldly.
"Make sure she's alright and take her to the station." he instructed her, disregarding her statement.
"For what? Running at you?"
"Accessory to the kidnapping of Faye Johnson."

A few hours later Randi was sitting in a jail cell. She had refused to speak to the detectives or any lawyer. She just wouldn't do it. She also wasn't feeling well again. An officer had to bring her another blanket to help keep her warm. They brought in another doctor but she didn't know what was wrong with Randi.
"How can we finish questioning her if she's getting sicker by the minute?" Lucas asked looking at Randi's tired form.
"I don't know. But we have to."
"Aiden, it's cruel and unusual punishment. We can't have her wear down by questioning her right now." Aiden glared at Lucas. What was wrong with him? She wanted to slap him.
"What does she mean to you? And don't lie this time." she folder her arms across her stomach. Lucas remained silent, staring at Randi's shaking body.
"I don't know." he said not shifting his gaze from Randi. I wish I did. There's just something about her." Randi looked up at Lucas from the other side of the cell. There was a tired look in her gaze. She pulled both blankets tight around her and curled up on the bed. Aiden sighed.
"I'll look into it. See what I can find out about her. You, in the mean time, need to go in and at least talk to her if you won't question her now." she said. Lucas nodded slightly and unlocked the cell doors and went in. Aiden left the holding area. Lucas timidly walked towards Randi. What was he supposed to say to her? He wasn't the kind of person to have a normal conversation with somebody. He was all business. The only person he could somewhat actually talk to was Aiden.
On the bed, Randi shook violently. "How are you doing?" he asked, mentally kicking himself. What kind of question was that?
"I'm fine. I guess." She told him with a chattering jaw. Lucas sat down on the bed by her feet. "Why are you here?" she asked him.
"To keep a sick woman company so she doesn't decide to get any worse." Randi gave him a weak smile.
"I"ll be alright."
"No, you won't. You were like this earlier and got better when that guy took you from the hospital. Now what did he do to make you well?" his mind flashed back to when Edward had just seemed to vanish. How had that one happened?
"You wouldn't understand." Randi said.
"Try me." Randi was quiet for a few seconds before she started to sit up. Lucas had to help her so that she didn't fall back on the bed.
"It's Edward. The guy who took me. I need him to live. If I stay away to long I get sick like this. I'm really starting to hate it." she told him. Lucas sat there and thought she was delirious.
"It makes you sick to be away from him." he said back to her.
"I knew you wouldn't believe me." she said defeated. "Just forget it." she lay back down on the bed, this time her back to him. Lucas lingered a moment looking at her, got up, opened the cell door again and walked out. His job just got a whole lot harder.
