The Trouble With Three

A/N: Again, sorry for the long wait. And also...sorry it's taking so long for the sex. Here it is. You might be a little surprised at what happens though.

Chapter 10 – Just One Night

“You can drop me off over here,” Eden grumbled.

“Leave me alone!” she choked out.

That was it! Kevin had had enough of emotional turmoil from females today. He located an unpaved side road and pull into it.

“Where are we going?” Eden demanded through her tears, as the car shook along the unpaved gravel.

“We both need to cool off,” he explained. It was true. He had had a bad night, and it certainly sounded as if Eden could use a time-out, as well.

He drove a little further down the stretch of road until they reached a somewhat secluded clearing. The rain appeared to be letting up ever so slightly, at this point. Kevin parked and killed the engine before turning off the headlights. He threw his head back and closed his eyes.

“Do you want to talk about it?” he grumbled.

Eden’s sniffles subsided. “No…at least…not with you.”

Kevin shot up. “Well then, let me allow you a glimpse into my wonderful night,” he began in a particularly nasty voice. “I just told the girl of my dreams that I loved her, and she decided to go to sleep afterwards!” Kevin punched his steering wheel, causing Eden to jump. “She doesn’t have to choose, dammit!” He turned to Eden. “Why are females so goddamn indecisive?”

Eden’s eyes narrowed. “Excuse me! Not all women are like that! Some girls know exactly what they want…” she trailed off – her eyes drifting away. “It’s just that…maybe the person they want doesn’t want them back.”

Kevin froze. “Wh-what? What are you talking about?”

“I’m just saying,” Eden began slowly, “that you’re not the only one whose love is being unrequited, Kevin.”

And then, it dawned on Kevin what the hell was bugging Eden Halliwell – the reason for their constant bickering and the reason that she was especially annoying around him…

Eden was in love with him.

“Aaron!” Carly scolded in a harsh whisper as Aaron pushed her toward her bed. “This is a bad idea!”

It wasn’t that he was blatantly ignoring Carly’s wishes, but Aaron was in a haze of passion right now. His senses were marred. He was hearing Carly, but he just couldn’t convince his body to follow her requests. Before he knew it, he was on top of her. Carly had turned her head to the side in an attempt to break eye contact with Aaron. He wasn’t going to let that stop him right now.

Aaron tilted his head to the side and kissed Carly on the lips. She moaned in protest but didn’t push Aaron away. He kissed her a little longer, allowing his tongue to probe through her lips. She eventually touched her tongue to his, and their kiss grew more intimate. Carly wrapped her arms around Aaron’s neck, now, daring him to pull back from the hot contact.

“I want all of you, Carly,” Aaron spoke into her lips.

Carly’s eyes flew open. The implications of Aaron’s request were quite clear, and as much as she reciprocated his feelings at the moment, she didn’t know if giving “all of herself” up to him was a wise move. She was emotionally in tatters at this moment, and her father was sleeping down the hall. If he found out what was transpiring in her room right now…

“Take off your clothes, Carly,” Aaron whispered into her ear.

Welcome back to reality, Carly Brooks. Carly pulled back from her embrace with Aaron, looking indignant. “No.”

“No?” Aaron asked incredulously.

Carly abruptly rose to her feet and began pacing nervously back and forth. “You can’t just climb in through my window and ask for sex, Aaron.”

His gray eyes met her violet ones, and he looked slightly ashamed at the way Carly made his actions sound. “Carly –

“You’re willing to betray one friend –

“Kevin is not my friend, Carly. How many times do I have to tell you?”

“And,” Carly continued, ignoring Aaron, “you’re obviously willing to play around with the emotions of another friend.”

Aaron had nothing to say to that. If he was toiling with Carly’s emotions, he most certainly was not doing it intentionally. Aaron stood up but kept his distance from Carly, who was now crossing her arms across her chest in a gesture of defense. Aaron hated seeing her look like that, especially in front of him.

“I’m sorry if I’ve done that, Carly. You know I would never deliberately hurt you, sweetheart.”

Carly didn’t look appeased. Instead, she turned her head to stare out of her bedroom window, which had yet to be closed. The rain had stopped by now.

“I know you would never purposefully hurt me, Aaron. It’s just…” Carly walked over to her window and rested her forearms on the ledge, “…these new feelings you have for me…they make you so unpredictable. It scares me, Aaron. I just…I just don’t know how to be around you when you’re this way.”

Aaron gulped. In all honesty, he was just as frightened about these new emotions that Carly aroused within him of recent. He would definitely have preferred their dynamic to be like it had been when they were elementary school classmates, but Aaron didn’t have the power to manipulate time. Nature had taken its course and now, he was a healthy seventeen-year-old male faced with a beautiful, still-passionate seventeen-year-old woman. In this instance, he was completely at the mercy of his own heart.

“Aaron?”

Aaron didn’t realize that he had been staring at Carly the entire time. He turned his head, embarrassed at his ogling. “You’ll want me just as much, eventually.”

“What?” Carly asked in disbelief.

Aaron ignored Carly’s question and slowly crept toward the window. Carly shifted warily to the side in an effort to evade him, but that was completely unnecessary. Aaron climbed up through the window and began his trek downward. As he safely landed on the ground, he looked up one last time at the woman he’d dreamt of for the past six years. She was looking back at him, a genuinely concerned expression on her beautiful face. Aaron could not bear to look back at her for much longer and quickly turned to walk back to Abagnale Point, where his car was parked.

Eden was a little alarmed by the look in Kevin’s eyes. His green eyes twinkled with disbelief and…something else. She’d never seen Kevin stare at her in this way, and frankly, it unnerved Eden.

“Kevin?” she ventured. “Are you ok-

Eden barely had an opportunity to finish her question when Kevin Maguire’s mouth descended over her lips. Eden’s eyes widened in equal parts horror and surprise. What the hell is going on? As she continued to pull back, Kevin kept leaning in until the back of her head was pushed against the passenger side window. At that point, Eden began swatting at Kevin’s chest, but he wasn’t budging.

Eventually, Kevin’s roaming hand found her left breast. He squeezed, and Eden moaned in protest. Apparently, Kevin didn’t sense the alarm in her voice. He kept right on going. His lips continued to plunder hers. Eden hated to admit it, but Kevin Maguire was a damn good kisser. Right, like she had a rich frame of reference to judge from; she’d kissed one other boy in the eighth grade. Still, after a nearly-four year dry spell, a kiss from Kevin wasn’t so bad.

“Fuck!” he swore loudly, beginning to pull back.

Eden sighed inwardly. As good as the kiss was, she was incredibly uncomfortable right now. Maybe, Kevin had finally sensed her discomfort and was ready to end this insanity. She began to sit up when she felt Kevin’s hands clamp around her waist. She screamed as she felt herself being lifted over the center console and onto his lap, so that she was facing him. Because her skirt was in the way, she felt Kevin taking liberties and lifting it up so that she was able to straddle him. She squeaked in protest, and the piercing noise made Kevin wince.

“What’s your problem?” he demanded.

“What are you doing?” she demanded hotly. “Put me back!”

Kevin ignored her and lifted his head so that he could kiss her again. When Eden began to protest again, he used his hand to support the back of her head. She couldn’t’ release herself from the kiss now. Their lips melted in hot contact. Kevin’s tongue slipped past Eden’s lips, and she inadvertently pulled back. She had never shared this sort of intimacy with anyone before, and she was…scared. She was even more frightened at the fact that she was currently sharing this intimacy with…Kevin Maguire.

Kevin reclined the seat backwards, and Eden squeaked at the unexpected movement of the car seat. She was practically lying on top of him horizontally, and she had the sinking feeling that this may have been exactly what Kevin wanted. She began to rise onto her fours when she felt the unfamiliar caress of a strong, male hand along her bare thigh.

Eden huffed in protest. “Stop that! What has gotten into you?”

Instead of seeing Kevin grow defensive, she saw the trademark huckster’s grin flash across his handsome features. It simultaneously annoyed the hell out of Eden and made her want to melt. It was especially difficult to stomach because Eden had vowed never to fall prey to the ‘Maguire Smirk.’ Just as she was about to scold Kevin even further, she felt both of his hands travel to the waistband of her panties.

“Kevin!” she shrieked. He chuckled at her. Eden’s hands flew to her waist in order to pull her panties back up, but Kevin was much stronger. Within seconds, Eden felt her underwear drop to the car floor. A cool draft traveled under her skirt, and mortification replaced shock as Eden realized she was naked underneath her dress.

Eden decided that the only way out of a potentially disastrous situation would be to climb off of Kevin’s lap, book it out of his pick-up truck, and run like hell back home – if she could find her way out of this stupid forest. She attempted to pull back, but Kevin’s strong hand grabbed Eden around her waist. She wasn’t going anywhere, it seemed.

With his free hand, Kevin began unzipping his pants. Eden heard him rustling around, presumably for protection. And then she saw it…ah, no wonder Kevin was so popular with the girls. Before she knew it, Kevin turned himself around so that he was on top of Eden. It would be a virtually impossible thing to do in any vehicle – given the cramped corners – but Kevin was just full of surprises this evening, so why should Eden have been shocked?

Except she was. Eden had never had sex with a guy before, and she really had wanted her first time to be with Aaron, or at the very least…anyone but Kevin Maguire. But now that the blonde football captain was hovering over her, regarding her amorously with his startlingly green eyes, Eden felt that if she ran out now…she would regret it more than if she stayed.

Kevin pushed Eden’s skirts up all the way to her waist. With her panties gone, Eden was fully exposed to Kevin’s lingering eyes. She hated having him scrutinize her in this way; she never wanted to be the one at Kevin’s mercy. But now…Kevin didn’t look so smug. His ogling lasted all but a few seconds before he lifted his green eyes back up.

“Are you ready?” he asked endearingly and without challenge.

“As ready as I’ll ever be,” Eden eked out slowly.

She felt Kevin run the tip of his penis back and forth along her folds. An inexplicable feeling arose within her very core. Eden wasn’t sure whether to feel afraid or excited about all of this. Kevin eventually pinpointed a spot on Eden’s private region where he began circling the tip of his cock around. The sensation elicited a whimper from Eden. Eden felt the pick-up truck shake with their movements, and she was suddenly reminded of how tawdry all this seemed. But somehow, she didn’t feel ashamed at all. In fact, if anything, Eden felt…alive.

Kevin thrust inside of her three more times before she felt him release himself into the condom he had hastily thrown on beforehand. He collapsed on top of her. The two of them lay there for a few minutes before Kevin finally regained the strength to pull away from Eden. She saw him get up and peel the condom off of himself before opening the car door and hurling it outside. Eden took that moment to straighten herself up. She pulled herself up, while pulling her skirts down. Eep, she’d left some blood on Kevin’s seats. She was too concerned with trying to locate her panties to dwell on that thought, though.

“Here,” Kevin said, handing them back to her.

Eden grabbed them, but she wasn’t sure how to put them on without giving Kevin another show, so she stuffed them into her small clutch, instead. A million thoughts flew through her head at that moment. She wanted to feel euphoric – she’d just had sex, after all. Instead, she was feeling a plethora of other emotions, none of which was remotely pleasant.

A/N: Did you see that coming? I sort of like the irony of having Aaron and Carly contemplate sex and end up not having it, while Kevin and Eden - who have no desire to be that intimate with each other - end up having sex in the end. What are your thoughts?
