“What’s going on, eh?” Came Kip’s voice.
Lasha turned to see Kip and some other guys walk up to the scene. The group of males glared at each other.
“Hate to break up the love-in, eh, but we’re on Fang.” Said Kip with a smile. “You’ll have to excuse us Gray” this time Kip’s smile didn’t reach his eyes as he tugged at Fangs shirt.
With one last death glare directed at Gray, Fang shrugged and began to turn away.

“Good to see you too, Oh! Lasha, look forward to talking with you soon” remarked the blond, instantly getting a reaction from Fang, who pulled Lasha with him as he departed.
Fang had a tight grip on Lasha’s arm as he pulled the girl with him towards the barn. His bangs were lowered so Lasha couldn’t see his eyes, but she had the feeling the emotion within the mismatched orbs would be anger.
I know the guy was a jerk, but Fang didn’t have to get so mad. What’s up with that? I guess there still bad blood between them, thought Lasha, Still its’ been a year…and my arms hurts.
“Fang could you let go” softly said Lasha, not wanting to upset the boy further.
“Huh? Oh …sorry” muttered the boy before dropping his hold on the girl. “He didn’t hurt you did he?” Fang suddenly asked. His frame was still ridged with his fists clenched.
One wrong word and he would go right back there and start a fight, thought Lasha.
“No. I’m fine, we were just talking is all” said Lasha gently, waving her hands in a disarming manner. It must have worked, since the boy’s body relaxed and he took a deep breath.
“Relax, eh. You let Gray get under your skin too often” remarked Kip.
“Yeah, I know.” Replied Fang, running a hand through is his thick bangs, “Listen, Lasha, stay away from him, okay”
“Why? He didn’t hurt me” responded Lasha, confused by Fang’s strange behavior.
“Let’s just say he’s bad news. He’s not what he seems, okay?” huffed Fang.
“Whatever” came Lasha’s stubborn response. What the hell is going on here? Thought the girl.
“Aren’t you gonna listen to my band?” said Fang mocking hurt.
Changing the subject I see, thought Lasha dully, fine I’ll play along for now.
“Sure” the girl said.
Lasha allowed herself to be ushered into the old building. It may look like an old barn from the outside but the inside was a different story. Sure, the interior reflected the aged wood of the structure but a person didn’t pay much intention to the rotting wood. Strobe lights covered the ceiling, filling the room with beams of neon color. A scrappy, stage sat in the center where the bands could play. Billiard tables sat in the far corner of the barn, and bails of hay served as seating on the edges of the building. Not much but it made the youth of Quinland happy.
“Stay through-out our award winning performance?” jokingly asked Fang.
“Yeah” said Lasha
“Okay, we can talk afterward”
“Sure” replied Lasha.
Fang gave the girl as soft smile before making his way on stage with Kip and some other guys.
More or less, the band was a hobby to kill time with friends. They were decent enough, but Fang wouldn’t hold his breath in the hope of becoming a rock star. He had a plan for the future. Hockey would get him a scholarship to college where he could study to be a music professor. Till then, Moon Child was a fun hobby.
Lasha stood in the crowd as everyone gathered in front of the stage, eager to here the band. A few hollers echoed through the room, the loudest being from the girls of Keegan.
A small tap to the shoulder alerted Lasha the Lisa and the others had found her.
“Wow, you have admit that Fang is hot, too bad he’s untouchable” commented Kathy.
“Untouchable?” asked Lasha
“Yeah, the Keegan girls would tear apart any girl to go out with Fang. You haven’t heard the rumors?” asked a shocked Kathy.
“What rumors?” asked Lasha curiously. I know Fang is pretty popular at our school, I didn’t know he was popular at Keegan as well, thought Lasha.
“I’ll tell ya later” said Kathy as her attention focused back onto the stage.
A strum of a string of Fang’s guitar echoed through-out the barn, signaling that the band was ready. Indeed that Fang would be the lead singer and lead guitar (surprise, surprise).
“What’s up, Quinland?” called Fang over the microphone. A loud whoop from the audience greeted him. “Cool, we’re Moon Child and we’re your entertainment for the night! So are you ready?” Once again calls came from the floor.
Without further ado the band started with a few versions of other songs and some of their own songs. Regardless the place was jumping. Lasha found her self shocked that Fang had was beautiful voice; its was deep, husky and alluring, but soft at the same time. Not to mention the boy looked good on stage. A blue spotlight shined down of the boy, making his near white hair shine, and his eyes seemed to glow, it drew Lasha in like a moth to a flame. Lasha was lost in a trance and before she knew it, the last song was up.
“Okay, this is our last song, it’s new. It’s called Elegy to the Longing”
A soft guitar intro started the song, followed by bass and drums. Even with such loud instruments, it sounded like a lullaby.

“You are my coveted gem, chances of obtaining are slim.
So alluring behind your glass, being such a tease
Keeping me so ill at ease
How discontented I am to look but dare not touch.” sang Fang, his voice deep and enthralling as the words rolled off his tongue.

“What do I have to do to get you to see me?
Do I have to be strong? Do I have to be wise?
Do I have plummet to my demise?
Tell me…
Tell me how and why?”
This time his voice was hard yet pleading as it faded to the boom of the instruments.

“I look at you and you turn away
Please don’t be afraid
I’d tear my heart open for you; I only wish you would too.
Please be the beauty to my beast
I’ll be the dark to your light.” came the second verse.

“What do I have to do to get you to see me?
Do I have to be strong? Do I have to be wise?
Do I have plummet to my demise?
Tell me…
Tell me how and why?” sounded the chorus. The lead guitar took the moment for a solo with the bass and drums backing it up.

“What do I need to do…to get you see, that I want you
And you want me
To the ends of the earth, and beyond the sea” the words shouted in tows of passion
“Please, my love, come to me
Give thou heart to me
And I shall give ye my soul…tonight” Fang purred the words making all the girls on the floor hearts skip a beat.

“What do I have to do to get you to see me?
Do I have to be strong? Do I have to be wise?
Do I have plummet to my demise?
Tell me…
Tell me how and why?

Please tell me why…” the last part was whispered as both Fangs eyes stared into the audience. His intense gaze finding Lasha’s; making the girls breath hitch.
The instruments die, signifying that the song was over. The crowd broke into a roar of applause and hollers; however, with all the noise around Lasha, she didn’t hear any of it. Everything does fade into white noise as Lasha stared into Fang’s. He smiles at her before breaking eye contract to thank the audience. Reality caught up with Lasha as she broke from her trance.
“Hey Lasha” called a voice from behind. Lasha turned to come face to face with Kyle.
Oh crap! Thought the girl “Hi Kyle” the girl replied.
“Didn’t expect you to be here” remarked the boy.
“Yeah, well decided to come” nervously said Lasha. Man, he caught be surprise. Hope I wasn’t drooling back there, thought Lasha.
“Glad to see you, I was actually going to call you, but this is must better” said Kyle, with a heart warming smile.
The heck, he wanted to call me, oh god, oh god! What, what could have to say, thought Lasha nervously, a thousands thoughts buzzing through her head.
“Could I talk to you for a moment privately” asked Kyle.
Lasha heard some of her friends whisper amongst themselves, but Lasha could care less about that. Good lord girl, reply to the boy! Her thoughts screamed.
“S…sure” replied Lasha lamely. Kyle gave a gentle smile that warmed her heart, however, when the boy took her hand into his own, Lasha’s heart began to pound. Kyle gently tugged her forward and her body obeyed with resistance, in fact her mind become mush.
Together, the teens made their way outside the barn and to the side of the building to a secluded corner. There the two stood, seemly alone…
“I was hoping to ask you something” smile Kyle unsurely. “I know we don’t know one another too well, but I like to think we’re friends” explained Kyle. Lasha nodded dumbly, her mind still fuzzy by the turn of events.
“I was just wondering of you would…do me the honor and …. Go to Home-Coming with me” asked Kyle looking into Lasha’s eyes.
To say Lasha was shocked, would the under-statement of the century. The girl was shell shocked by this. After, years of pining away from a distance, the god of Brandywine had ridden his golden chariot down from the heavens to claim the little mortal girl, Lasha (Okay that was milking the situation a little. Seriously who would think up that kind of imagery)?
Normally Lasha would squeal out a affirmative answer in less than a second for the boy in front of her, yet something she could explain or identify held her back; so instead of an extremely, thrilled yes, Lasha offered “I would love to” in a calm voice. Why don’t I feel more excited? I mean I am thrilled to death, but …Lasha’s thoughts were interrupted.
“Really, Thanks Lasha, we’ll have fun” said Kyle, an award winning expression of happiness on his face. Whatever doubts Lasha had, were swept away in a dust corner. She smiled up at Kyle, before the two departed from the spot to resume their activities. After-all, Lasha had to talk to Fang.
What both teens didn’t know that a figure was standing behind a tree listening to the two’s conversation. Neither Lasha nor Kyle noticed the glowing eyes watching suddenly harden to ice or did they notice when a fist hit the poor, defenseless tree; chipping off bits of bark. The figure ran a hand through his hair before taking a deep breath before returning to the barn, anger still evident in his tense frame. As the angry male walked off, another male smile gleefully at the other’s misfortune.

Please don't hold the song against me. Poetry isn't my strong point. I guess relations are getting stress. Next chapter will finish up The Barn, and get back to the well mystery. I have no idea when the next chapter will be up, but look for it in about two weeks, kay Later all ^.^
