Buckle up
“When I saw you going into the gun room, I knew you were going to ditch me. So I snuck out and hid in the car, don’t think I don’t know what you guys say about me. I’m not retarded. I mean geez, crash a couple of cars and no one ever trusts you again.”
“Get out…and go home…”
“Like hell I am, if you’re going to the Facility there’s no way I’m leaving, I’m going to kill that bastard Gavin.”
“This isn’t the time for vengeance. “
“Isn’t it? Come on Candy, everyone knows you’re the best Hunter. Please let me come with you, I can help, I know I can.”
“If you come you’ll just get yourself killed”
“If you don’t let me come with you now I’ll just come back on my own later, I need you Candy, and I can watch your back. Please I’m begging you.”
Candy seemed to think it over for a moment. Then she shifted into drive.
“Get in my way…and I’ll shoot you myself.”
“Thank you Candy!” Angela flung her arms around Candy’s neck and hugged her.
“Put your damn seat belt on…” for a moment she felt a smile tugging at her lips, but then it was gone.
*****
“She beat the hell outta the doors. What she use, a sledge hammer?” Kay ran her fingers over the bent metal.
“Her fists, more likely.” Nathan replied.
“How are we going to pry them open?” Phillip puzzled.
“Move!” Ice shouted. On his shoulder rested a large metal shaft.
“Ice, what the hell Man?!” Mike held up his hands.
“Ice put the bazooka down…blowing up the elevator isn’t going to help!”
“Your right…” Ice turned to the side “Good thing I’m not going to use it on the elevator. You might want to take cover.”
“Is he serious?!” Mike yelled.
“Ask questions later…” Kay pulled mike by his red shirt into an old office. Everyone ducked down and covered the ears. The entire hospital shook as Ice fired off the bazooka into the wall.
Kay swung open the door and pulled her shirt over her mouth, the drywall dust stung at her eyes.
“Ice!” Kay called for him as he put down the weapon.
“I’ve got to help her Kay.” Ice called as he climbed out over the rubble.
“Don’t die?! You hear me?!” She yelled at his retreating form.
