Chapter by Catt.
----
“You want to stop for them?” Leo asked the assassin beside him while gripping the steering wheel. The assassin continued to stare out of the window, apparently deep in thought.

“Hey you, I asked you a question. Do you—”

“I have a name you know,” she interrupted.

“Well maybe I can call you by your name if I only knew it,” he countered.

“It’s Akane. Don’t wear it out.”

‘Sheesh, talk about PMS…’ Leo thought. “Anyway, Akane, do you think we should stop for them?”

She gazed out the windshield, playing with the hilt of her katana. “I guess. The bomber seemed to be on our side, with her exploding Kumas and all. But this other guy, I don’t know about him.”

“I agree,” Leo said. “I don’t think he’s with her, but he seems pretty harmless.”

“It’s all up to you them,” Akane said, folding her arms behind her head.

The nameless thief stared at the bomber, still pissed over the incident with the uzi. He didn’t know what her deal was, but something about her irked the hell out of him. Shooting her would be the quick and easy way to be rid of her, But where’s the fun in that? He decided that he would get back at her for the insult.

Bebe stared back. ‘What’s with this fool?’ she thought, glaring into his eyes. His expression made him look dangerous, like a ruthless, hardened criminal that would do anything to get what he wants. But within his eyes, the blonde saw humor and mischief, as if this whole thing was just an elaborate game designed just for his pleasure. But as bebe fingered the trigger of the fully-reloaded 629 in her pocket, she realized that two can play that game.

As the starefest continued in the darkness of the night, light began to ebb over the two contenders. Turning to investigate the source of the light, they saw that it was one of Ncoleski’s military vehicles used to transport goods and soldiers. The truck had stopped several yards away and sat there for a few moments. Both the bomber and the thief stopped their little quarrel, curious to see what awaited them inside.

Suddenly, a door opened, then another. A woman clad in black stepped out, followed by a man with a strange device attached to his arm. The pair slowly approached them, the bomber and thief becoming tentative with every step. The newcomers stopped about 10 feet away from Bebe and Stabs-a-lot. The two glanced at each other, trying to decide who should speak first. The thief beat them to it.

“Who the fuck are you two?” he said, caressing the butt of the gun at his waist.

The new young man replied. “Uh, I’m Leo, and this—” he gestured towards the woman to his left as she waved, “—is Akane. We couldn’t help but notice the way you took down those Kumas and we just wanted to know if you were willing to help us in our quest against Ncoleski, and The Crystal Method. Are you two interested?”

Bebe had to mull over the thought for awhile. It was a shot at vengeance, and a larger group number means more chances to stop the bitch and create more destruction. But she couldn’t see how these two, a man with some weird gadget on his arm and a girl with a sword, can help her with her mission.

“Sound’s good, but how exactly are you going to help me?” she said a little skeptically.

“That would be hard to do with a glove and a knife,” the thief added. “If you’re using those for weapons, no wonder you need help.”

“Oh really?” Akane said, annoyed at their condescending attitude. “Well without our skills and knowledge, I doubt you would be able to get within 100 feet of Ncoleski and The Crystal Method without getting shot.”

“And why is that?” Bebe said skeptically.

“Well, for one, I have personally known The Crystal Method and what she is capable of. Leo here was her own special technician and not only does he have clearance for the whole compound, but he also knows every square inch of the place by heart, even secret chambers and passageways that no one else would even suspect.”

“I do?” Leo muttered just loud enough for only Akane to hear.

“Sure, whatever, just go with the program, ne?” she murmured back. The thief and bomber stared at him in awe. If Leo had suspenders, he would have snapped them.

“Plus, I have this,” Leo said to further their interest. He lifted gauntleted arm and pressed a button on it. It hissed and sputtered, sending sparks flying.

“Wow, that’s great! What is that supposed to be? A diversion?” Bebe asked, truly in awe.

“No, a shield,” Leo answered while pressing buttons on the malfunctioning piece of equipment.

“Well, it doesn’t seem to be very helpful….” Bebe said sarcastically. Behind her, the thief snickered.

“So, you guys going to join us or not?” Akane snapped. “We’re wasting time here…”

“Alright missy, keep your panties on. Or not,” snickered the thief. Both Bebe and Akane rolled their eyes.

“Well, anyway, I don’t think that it would hurt for us to join,” said Bebe. The thief nodded in agreement.

He nodded towards the truck. “Watcha got in there?” he asked, curious to see what type of loot they were carrying along.

“There’s a small arsenal of guns, ranging from handguns to rifles. Also, there are food and medical supplies and a motorcycle,” Leo explained.

“A motorcycle!?” The thief’s eyes lit up and a little drool made its way out of his mouth. The assassin noticed this and decided to set him straight.

“That’s mine. Touch it and I’ll slice you a new one,” she said, tapping the hilt of her katana. The thief stared back at her, as if daring her to carry out their threat. She shot a stare back at him.

“Okay, shall we?” Leo said gesturing towards the truck. Nodding, the rest of the group followed the technician towards the massive vehicle. Leo and Akane both made their ways to their respective doors, but the others dawdled around the back confusedly.

“Where do we sit?” Pokey McGee asked.

“Somewhere in the back,” Akane said, closing her door. Muttering, Bebe and the thief made their way to the rear of the vehicle. Opening the hatch, they saw that the sides and bottom of the bed were lined with crates with various different labels, indicating what type of gun and ammunition was stored in it. On the inside of the hatch, there were three medical kits and along the opposite wall where the rear window of the cab were crates of ready-to-eat food rations. In the center on top of the crates on the floor, there was the GSX-R.

The two stared in awe, Bebe eying in the medical supplies while the thief was enrapt with the amount and variety of ammo that was in the back of the truck. After the truck started up, the two scrambled to climb into the truck and get in a comfortable position. As soon as they latched the door, the group began to move out.
