Chapter Nine

Chapter Nine

Apollo snarled back in the face of his uncle's fury as he watched the man sweep out of the room. Did Jeta honestly think he would sit back and watch Ryker be killed? Servants or no, Apollo ran to the windows, flinging them wide. Let them try and stop him. He'd kill them all.

With deadly intent, Apollo flung himself from the window, jumping with ease across the balconies and flying buttresses. He had to get to Ryker before everyone else and warn him! Damn his uncle to hell for this!

*~*~*~*

Ryker stood after sometime making his way to his barracks with a smile on his face. He headed into his room, feeling better than he had in ages. He'd shower, then go to see Gemeni.

He needed to inform the Division leader of all he’d learned in the enemy compound, then he’d search out Symion. He’d been gone for over a week, and he missed his lover something dreadful.

Gods, it just was good to be home.

~*~*~*~

While Ryker was enjoying his stay home, Apollo was currently running his ass off trying to outrun that idiot Slade and the other Reapers that had been sent out. He scurried down the same pipeline that Ryker had scrambled through earlier, somehow following the male's old trail exactly.

Apollo distantly wondered how he was going to convince the Division not to kill him on sight, but he had to try! But first...he needed to find the Division.

*~*~*~*

Ryker showered, making sure to wash his body of the last vestiges of sex and tiredness. He wrapped a towel around his waist, walking out of the bathroom and colliding with a broad chest.

"Oof--watch it!" he said frowning. "Ryker?" said the large male with long red hair.

"Garrison!" Ryker said, smiling. Garrison looked at Ryker. "VIPER!" he hollered. "You're alive!" he grinned, hugging the male.

Ryker sighed as Garrison sat down on his bed, filling him in on what he'd missed in the span of the three days he'd been gone. Ryker got dressed, shaking his head as Garrison told him about the goings on. He frowned as he heard about the numerous deaths over in the Westside. "Alright, I'll go investigate after I go see Gemeni." he nodded.

"I don't think that's such a good--" Garrison began, but Ryker was already gone.

Ryker walked down the familiar subterranean halls, humming slightly to himself as he drew closer to Gemeni's room. He slowed as he heard muffled sounds coming from in the room. He drew his dagger, wondering if a struggle was going on. He stopped short when he heard a familiar moan.

"Ummm...deeper..." came the voice of someone he never wanted to hear outside of his bed....

*~*~*~*

Apollo decided that the next chance he got he was going to kill his uncle. Quick and clean. That's how it was going to go down.  He’d reached the city, and found the Reaper squadron being fired on by unseen laser guns. He blind-sided a Reaper as he passed, the man hitting the ground dead, never knowing what hit him.

Apollo observed the scene and the surrounding area before frowning. The Division couldn’t be in this direction—Ryker would have led them astray first. Turning, Apollo made his way to the Southern edge of the city, near the Borderlands.

~*~*~*~*~

Ryker shook--from fury, from betrayal, from sadness--he didn't know. It was an amalgamation of emotion as he stood outside of that door for what seemed like hours. He couldn't bring himself to open it--just stand there.

"AH! Gem..." came the moan from inside. Ryker clenched his jaw as hot tears trailed down his pale cheeks.

"I love you...Symion..." came the groan from inside as both cried out their orgasms. Ryker's eyes went wide, and he let out a pained scream as his heart shattered into a million pieces. Before he knew what he was doing, Ryker was plunging his dagger into the steel door with a force he didn't know he possessed. There was a start from inside of the room and a few moments later, Gemeni--a tall, handsome middle aged male with dark, short salt and pepper hair appeared in the hallway, naked, followed by a young male in his mid twenties who had dark hair flooded over his shoulders and around his handsome tanned face. He had at least deigned to cover himself in a pair of loose pants.

They looked around, daggers and pistols in hand before their eyes landed on a figure they thought they'd never see again. Symion and Gemeni's eyes both widened as they looked at Ryker, his shaking, furious form, and the clear, crystalline tears falling down his face.

They stared at each other for a long time, until Gemeni found his voice. "Ryker...I--" A lightening strike hit him, and he flew backwards, his body covered in bruises from the flurry of punches just delivered to him.

Ryker stood shaking fists clenched, as he turned to Symion, tears falling down his face. "How could you?" he asked calmly--too calmly.

Symion looked about ready to cry himself. "Ry...I'm sor--"

"Don’t!" Ryker growled slamming the male against the wall, the male's feet dangling from the floor as Ryker held the taller, bulkier male by the neck. "Don’t you dare say you’re fucking sorry! Do you even know half of the hell I put myself through trying to get back here--to you?!" he growled. "I've got fucking Reapers on my ass, and an Enforcer after me--all because I wanted to come back to you. But I see what the fuck you've been doing behind my back!!" He growled, tossing the male with all his strength. Symion’s body made a sickening crunch as it hit the opposite wall. He groaned as his body collided with the floor.

Ryker turned, "Since you want me gone, you bastards, that what I'll do. I’ll go. But the next time I see you, I'll kill you both with my bare hands." he said coldly as he walked back to his room, angrily wiping at the tears.

~*~*~*~*

Apollo sat crouched on the top of a decrepit building, looking out to where he thought the Division base to be. He watched it, making sure that no was going in. If he had to, he'd take out every Reaper that approached the place. Feeling gruff and irritated, he sat there and just watched.

*~*~*~*

When Ryker returned to his barracks, wiping the last few tears from his face, he was surprised to find Garrison standing in his room, his duffle bag on the bed, packed.

Ryker just looked at him. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" he snapped.

"I'm going with you, little bro. There's some things you need to know," Garrison said, his brown eyes lowered to floor.

Ryker turned on Garrison. "You knew about them?!" he said loudly.

Garrison shook his head. "No! Not until you disappeared anyway--I heard them talking. I'll tell you about it later, after you've calmed down, alright?" Garrison said, looking at the little male.

Ryker just stared at him, long and hard until he just sighed--all of his energy just--gone. He turned to his few things and began to pack them.

~*~*~*~*~

Apollo grew more and more irritated. He couldn't sit and watch the entrance all day, nor could he make sure Reapers stayed away from the Division. At the same time, he didn't want Ryker's to die. The Reaper felt himself at an impasse. He had just risen to pace when he was jumped from behind, pinned to the ground by some unknown Reaper.

"You were told not to leave for the Radantian dog and yet here you are." The man sneered. "Who knew you'd sink so slow."

Apollo didn’t know why, but suddenly he was furious at the male. Before the Reaper knew it, the tables had been turned.

"And you talk to much." In one quick movement, Apollo had slit the Reaper's throat in a spray of blood. Frowning as he was splattered with red, Apollo ripped the two-way from the male's belt. "Breaker, breaker." Apollo rasped. "Anyone who tries for the escaped Radantian dies." He shut off the frequency before he could get a reply. He was through playing.

~*~*~*~*~

So there were some questions:

Camilla being overpowered by Ryker is not his fault. He's a servant and not a fighter, and Jeta is kinder on his own people than he is Radantians.

And sorry for the short 8th chapter! It really was kinda just filler. I'm going to try to get these out. I'm editing and trying to find stopping places. I'll update regularly. I promise!
