Chapter Ten:

Naoya stared at his television in horror and shock. There were no words to describe it. He was witnessing the murder of his niece Miku. He wished that he hadn't opened the package. On the other hand, he was glad that he did. If Naru was to see this he would breakdown for sure. Naru loved his sister very much. If he saw this recording he would die from shock, there was no doubt about it.

“You can't show that to Naru.”

Startled, Naoya turned around. “Rei!” he uttered.

Rei walked past Naoya and ejected the disc. “We must keep this from Naru. He already has enough to worry about and I don't think that Miku would want her brother to see what her last moments were like.”

“I know that already Rei,” said Naoya. His face showed how angry and devastated he was. He snatched the disc from Rei and disappeared into his room. Rei followed him. He watched as Naoya slipped on his shirt and pants.

“Where are you going Naoya?"

“To see a friend,” replied Naoya. He grabbed the disc and his car keys.

“W-wait! Why are you going to see your friend instead of the police?”

“If I show it to the police, they would more than likely want to talk to Naru since the murderer sent it to him, and I can't have that.”

Rei understood completely. “If you don't mind can I tag along?” Rei asked softly.

Naoya smiled at Rei before walking over to him and lifting his chin up with his thumb. “I would be more than happy to bring you along.”

Rei’s face beamed with happiness. He quickly dashed to the couch where he slept and grabbed his jacket.

Naoya and Rei were almost out the door when Kou woke up.

“Where are you two going this early in the morning?” Kou asked as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

“Out. We will be back soon.” Naoya was the one who answered Kou. He shut the door and with Rei by his side, they made their way down to his car.

“What is your friend’s name?” Rei asked as they got into the car.

"Makoto, but I call him Maki,” answered Naoya with a smile. He backed out of the parking lot and drove out of the underground parking.
-------
“Who the hell is it this early in the morning?” a very sleepy Makoto murmured. “I'm coming!” he yelled when whoever it was at his door kept ringing his stupid doorbell. Imagine his surprise when he opened his door to find his friend Naoya on his doorstep. Behind Naoya stood a very cute boy. “Naoya! What brings you here?” he asked right before he let out a big yawn.

“Can we come in first Maki?”

“Only if you stop calling me by that stupid nickname.”

Naoya laughed. “Alright, I promise Makoto. Now can we come in?”

“Of course.”

Makoto opened his front door wider and let Naoya and Rei inside. “How are Hiro’s kids doing?" he asked as soon as they all sat down.

“They are the reason why I'm here Makoto.”

Makoto frowned at his best friend. “What's wrong with Hiro’s kids?” he asked.

Naoya leaned back and began to tell his friend everything. Rei was amazed at how calm Makoto was after hearing the part about the disc. He watched as the man stood up and took the disc from Naoya. Makoto calmly walked up to his DVD player, placed the disc in the tray and pressed play. He watched the whole video without saying a word.

Makoto ejected the disc once he was done viewing it. “I'll keep this. It is safer here with me than with you.”

Naoya nodded his head. “You are going to kill that bastard aren't you Makoto?”

“Is there really a need to ask Naoya? Of course I will kill that bastard!” Makoto kicked the table in front of him sending it flying across the room. “We made a promise to Hiro that if anything was to happen to him we would take care of his kids for him. I ran away from that promise because I refused to accept his death, but you Naoya kept your promise to him. Now it is my turn to keep my promise.”

Makoto grabbed his jacket and the disc and left the house. After Makoto left, Naoya flipped his cell phone open and called his son. “Is Naru still there?” he asked when his son answered his call.

“Naru is still asleep Father.”

“I'll be home in twenty minutes.” Naoya flipped his phone shut and smiled at Rei. “Lets return to the hotel.”

Rei nodded his head and then followed Naoya back to the car. Rei had many questions that he wanted to ask but this was not the best time to ask Naoya. He would have to wait.
-----
Ryuu woke up with a smile on his face. Naru had cuddled up against his side and had his right leg sprawled over his Ryuu’s thigh. He gently parted Naru’s bangs to the side. After gazing at Naru’s sleeping face for a long moment he leaned down and whispered softly into Naru’s ear, “Wake up sleepy head. We have a plane to catch.”

Naru sat up straight like an arrow. “Boss,” he said sleepily. “What time is it?”

“It’s half past nine,” replied Ryuu. “We have one and a half hours to go before our plane leaves without us.”

Naru looked up at his boss with sleepy eyes. “Boss, are you really taking me to England?” he asked.

“Yes Naru. Like I told you last night, I have business there and you as my private secretary also need to be there.”

“Then we should really get out of bed,” Naru said with a laugh. They both walked out of the room to find Kou who was already up and was having his breakfast.

“Good morning Kou.”

“Good morning to you too Naru. Want some coffee?”

“Coffee!” Naru said this with a mischievous smirk, his eyes on the green lime sitting on the tray. He turned to his boss. “Boss, I forgot my glasses on the bedside table, could you get them for me?” he asked sweetly.

“Sure,” replied Ryuu. Thinking nothing of it he went immediately to get Naru’s glasses.

“Na-Naru what are you doing?” Kou asked, his eyes wide open as he watched Naru squeeze the juice from the green lime into a cup filled with coffee. Oh that coffee is going to be as sour as that lime, Kou thought. “Na-Naru are you going to drink that thing?” he asked.

“No not me Kou, this coffee is for my boss. He loves his coffee sour.”

Ryuu returned to the sitting area with Naru’s glasses. He handed them to Naru and sat down next to him.

“Thank you Boss. Here is your coffee.” Naru placed the coffee in front of his boss and watched with anticipation.

Ryuu reached for the coffee in front of him. He looked up to see Kou watching him. “Is there a problem?”

Kou shook his head and Ryuu went on to drink his coffee. His coffee was as sour as a lime. He drank it all calmly and placed it back on the table after he was done with it. He turned to face Naru. “The coffee was delicious Naru and I want you to have a taste of it as well.” Naru didn't even have time to react. His boss jerked him forward and before he could even utter a word his boss claimed his mouth.

Kou’s eyes were wide open. So was his mouth. He never expected to witness two handsome men kissing right in front of his eyes. It turned out that he was not the only one surprised. As it happened, Naoya and Rei returned at that precise moment. They both stood by the door with a shocked expression on their faces. Naoya was the first to pull himself together.

“Naru, I would prefer it if you do that somewhere more private.”

Naru pulled back, then he slid away from his boss, his face flushed red. He couldn't look his uncle or Kou in the eyes. He gave his boss a good pinch on the arm.

“That hurt Naru!”

“It is nothing compared to my embarrassment!” Naru muttered softly. “Why did you kiss me anyway? Couldn’t you come up with a better way to get even with me Boss?” he added in a whisper.

Before Ryuu could answer, his cell phone rang. He saw his uncle’s name flashing on the small screen. “Excuse me, I need to take this call.” He excused himself and disappeared back into the room he shared with Naru the night before.

“Naru, who is that man?” Naoya asked as soon as Ryuu was out of sight.

“He's my boss Uncle.”

Naoya’s face became red with rage, “Is he the boss who fired you yesterday?”

“Uncle please don't be mad. He didn't fire me.”

“Then why were you so depressed yesterday Naru?”

“I-I- I thought that my boss slept with Susuki,” Naru admitted softly.

"Oh my God, Naru you were jealous?" Kou couldn't believe his ears. “You never get jealous Naru. Not even when your girlfriend cheated on you in high school. This is so unexpected, you must really love your boss!”

“I do not,” said Naru.

“W-wait hold it! Kou is it true that Naru used to have a girlfriend?” Rei asked. He found it hard to believe that Naru used to have a girlfriend. Especially since he was wearing those giant glasses.

“Yes. They dated for three months before Susuki came along and snatched her from Naru.”

Naru wanted to tell Kou to shut up but he never got a chance to. His boss came out of the room with a frown on his face. “What’s wrong Boss?” Naru asked with concern.

“That was my uncle. He told me that Susuki didn't show up for work.”

"That's not like him,” commented Naru, finding it strange that Susuki didn't show up for work. “Did you call his house Boss?”

“I did. I even called his cell phone but no one answered.”

“Ryuu what are you going to do? Uncle can't do everything himself. He needs a secretary!”

“I know that Rei,” said Ryuu. He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. "My plane leaves in an hour. I don't have time to find another secretary.”

Rei also didn't know what to do. Then his eyes landed on Kou and an idea came to his head. “Kou, didn't you say that you were looking for a job?”

“Yes I did,” Kou answered. He didn't know why Rei was asking him this when he already knew.

“Ryuu, why not hire Kou to be Uncle’s secretary?” Rei suggested to his brother with a big smile.

Kou practically jumped out of his seat. "W-wait Rei! I don't want to be a secretary for your uncle. Not to mention that I don't know shit about being one.”

“You will learn Kou. It is not as hard as you think,” said Naru.

Kou turned to his father. “Father say something! Don't just stand there and listen.”

Naoya let out a soft chuckle. “Why don't you try it Kou? You might like it. Besides we already met their uncle.”

Kou couldn't believe it. Even his father was ganging up on him. He sighed in defeat. “Alright fine, I will give it a try.”

“You won’t regret it Kou,” commented Rei with a grin.

Thirty five minutes later Ryuu dropped Kou off in front of his office building. He wished the boy a good day and drove off with Naru to the airport.
-------
Kousuki had his head buried in all the paper work that needed his attention. Twenty minutes earlier he had called and rebooked some of the appointment by himself since his secretary had not shown up. He looked up at the clock and saw that it was almost time for his meeting. There was no way in hell that he could make it to the meeting on time with all these papers lying around on his desk. He lifted his head up from the pile of paper when he heard a soft knock on his door. “Come in,” he sighed.

A very nervous Kou entered the big office. He slid the door shut and smiled nervously at the shocked Kousuki. “Hi.” That was all Kou managed to say.

“Kou what are you doing here?” Kousuki asked, his voice filled with surprise.

“Your nephew Ryuu just hired me to take over for Susuki who didn't show up.”

“Can you excuse me for a minute Kou? I need to make a call to Ryuu. If you don't mind, could you make me a cup of coffee?”

“Sure, no problem,” answered Kou. He left immediately.

As soon as Kou left, Kousuki punched in a few numbers and waited for his nephew to answer.

“Hello?”

“Ryuu, why did you hire Kou to be my secretary?” Kousuki yelled out loud.

“Why? Is there a problem uncle? He seems like a good kid.”

“Yes there is a problem Ryuu. He is my mate.”

Ryuu eyes widened, “Uncle are you sure?”

“Yes Ryuu. I am not an idiot like you.”

“What are you going to do Uncle? You swore that you would never love anyone else after Risa’s mother died.”

“That is why I stayed away from him. I haven't seen him since the night Rei and I had dinner with him and his father."

“Look Uncle, you are just going to have to bear with it until Naru and I return. I will talk to you later.” Ryuu hung up before his uncle could yell at him.

“Was that your uncle?" Naru asked.

“Yes.”

“Is everything alright?" asked Naru.

“Yes everything is just fine,” Ryuu said with a grin. Then he leaned back against his seat and closed his eyes.

Sitting three rows back from them, two men watched them closely.
