Chapter 10
I lay back against the pillows, my mind wandering. What will I do now? I\'ll have to call someone tomorrow about my mother. I can\'t just leave her body there. I\'ve never dealt with something like this before. When my father died my mother had dealt with it all. Now I was alone. I had no one left at all; despite my mothers drinking at least I could still see her. All that\'s left for me is an empty rundown dump of an apartment. I can\'t hide out here for the rest of my life, I doubt Chaise would even allow it. He probably only agreed for me to stay here tonight cause he felt sorry for me. I shift slightly in the bed and glance down at him. He\'s fallen asleep from what I can tell. I feel a little guilty as he might wake up sore from the floor. At least it is covered by a carpet and not hardwood or tile. I roll onto my back as I think of earlier in the forest.
I wish we had more success today. The vision he got from Morgan\'s body gave us nothing to really go on other then the fact that he knew someone here. I don\'t remember him mentioning anything to me really at work but I had brushed him off slightly after seeing his death. We\'ll have to go back to his body again, though I wish we didn\'t have to. It figures though that it wouldn\'t be as easy as going to see him once. Nothing in my life has ever really been easy.
A soft sigh escapes my lips as I let my eyes slowly drift shut, sleep taking over. It\'s not long before my mind is pulled once again to the forest though this time it feels more real to me. The cold chill as a gust of air sweeps past me, the sound of the leaves falling from the trees to the ground below me even the sound and feel of the tree branches below my feet as I walk forward into the clearing before me.
This time is different then the other dreams, no, the other hauntings. I can see the figures covered in black come towards me, and I try to run away, remembering the pain I felt the last time I was here. My foot gets caught on a tree branch and I tumble forward, hitting the forest ground. Before I know it things play out like they usually did the other times, several people surrounding and kicking me before another body is on top of mine, the smirk of his mouth the only thing visible to me. His hands reach out, grasping around my throat and squeezing tight. I struggle beneath him, flailing my legs, my hands trying to pry his off my neck. My vision gets blurry as the laughter once again fills the air.
My eyes snap open and I gasp for air, my hands instantly flying to my throat, the tight feeling of the mans hands still there suffocating me. I claw at them, though invisible to anyone and myself included until they suddenly let go and Morgan stands beside me. I move as quickly as I can, falling from the side of the bed and pushing myself up against the wall behind me. Slowly the temperature of the room drops, the window becoming covered in ice. I can see my breath before me as I take quick breaths in and out, my hand comes up to rest on my sore throat.
The cold gets more intense as the lights begin to flicker on and off, and the radio beside the bed plays the same laughter. Things then begin to get thrown about the room as usual. Books fly from shelves, boxes are tossed at walls, a chair in the corner of the room gets knocked over and thrown across the room. I follow it across the room and my gaze meets with the very startled eyes of Chaise.
Morgan\'s head snaps towards me, his eyes locking on mine before he disappears, the cold of the room slowly following and disappearing. Chaise looks around the room and then back at me. He comes over and helps me up, walking me over to the bed and sitting me down.
“I\'m sorry about that, and all the stuff. I\'ll help you clean it up. Now you know why I didn\'t get much rest.” I mummer, my eyes on my knees, my hands fidgeting in my lap.
“How many times has it happened?” I look up at him, his eyes fixed on me. My hand comes up to brush across my throat, wincing as my fingers press too hard against the bruises there. I tug at the shirt, pulling it higher to cover them as much as I can.
“A few times, they get more intense as the days pass by. Always the same dream that leads up to these events happening.”
His brow knits together as though deep in thought before he moves towards the closet. “I\'m stepping out for a smoke, you are welcome to join if you\'d like. We can talk some more.” He grabs a sweater from the closet and throws it to me, pulling another one on himself as he walks out the door, stepping over the mess left by Morgan.
I follow behind him, zipping the sweater up as I go, watching as he grabs his smokes from the counter and holds the door open for me out to the back deck. I step out onto the deck, a nice cool breeze blows past me, messing up my already bed ridden hair. Chaise lights a smoke and sets the package down on the rail for the deck, leaning his back against the rail.
“Would you mind if I had a smoke?” I question, gesturing to them.
He looks a little taken back, probably surprised that someone like me, who looks about ready to fall over dead would smoke. But it\'s actually relaxing and helps keep my mind off of things. The only negative effect is if I have a vision it usually seems clearer. My thought was probably just because my mind was totally relaxed at the moment making it easier for the vision to come through compared to normally when I\'m stressed the visions can sometimes be a little blurred. I can\'t really afford to buy any of my own smokes as most of the money I make went towards groceries and rent.
He picks the package up, holding it out towards me and I slide one out, slipping it into my mouth as I take the lighter from his other hand. I take a puff and lean forward, my eyes looking up towards the sky, noticing how clear a night it is.
“So, the dreams you have. They are all the same?”
I nod, letting my eyes fall back onto him. “Yes, the only difference is they\'ve been getting more real. This one was a lot more intense then the others. The hauntings are the same. I\'m not sure, but it might be Morgan\'s way to trying to make us hurry.”
He nods, taking a puff from his cigarette before speaking again. “We\'ll have to go back again, see if I can see further in. Something of more importance.”
“Do you suppose it was important though? The vision you saw from him?” I can\'t make any sense of it, there were no clues about who killed him or why from it.

Hope everyone is having a good January so far, mine has been pretty busy with work and other projects being completed. Does anyone watch the tv show Lost? I’ve bought all of the seasons and have been watching them pretty much non-stop since I got them so my mind has been a little caught up in the world of Lost.
Lisa: Yeah, the relationship is bit slow moving but it’ll pick up eventually, lol. Aiydenn’s mother was alive then but she died afterwards, there was a whole day plus the night as well and during that time frame she died. Haha, yeah they should sleep in the same bed but give it time, we’ll work up to that ;) Looking forward to seeing you next chapter~
Kylee: Yeah, Aiydenn has had a rough go at it so far, Chaise is also sort of alone too even with his dad out there. Things are defiantly heating up fast for the next few chapters. Some more Morgan things that might give some insight into him a little bit more. Hope to hear from you again on the next chapter :)
I apologize again for the huge delay in this being posted, this time chapter 11 will be out a lot sooner, I promise. So look forward to it. See you soon~
