TOKYO BOYS
Chapter 10

Yuuto continued sitting even after the teacher left the classroom. He threw a glance at Daisuke, who was already surrounded by boys and girls. They were chatting loudly and laughing about his first encounter with the new teacher.

“I’m so sorry, sensei. I’ll pay more attention next time!” One of the boys mimicked Daisuke and received a playful punch in the stomach.

“Kaname-kun.” Midori stopped by Yuuto’s desk. “I didn’t tell you before, I saw your work in the gallery… it was really… expressive,” she smiled politely. “You’re very talented.”

“Thank you…” He blushed and looked away.

“I didn’t recognize the location you were drawing though…”

“Um, I just made it up… it’s, uh…” He mumbled awkwardly. The teacher told him before that his paintings were too dark. He was surprised Midori liked it. Maybe she was just being polite.

Daisuke was still agitated over his reaction to the new teacher. He knew that if he wanted to seduce his teacher, he had to plan it carefully. He couldn’t be too direct or he would get into trouble, especially seeing how serious the teacher had been with him. The first impression he’s made on the man probably didn’t play in his favor either.

“Am I a punk?” he asked his friends.

They looked at him in confusion, unsure if he was joking or not. He got up abruptly and walked out of the classroom without a second look. He could really use a cigarette now. He decided to go to the roof again.

The door was wide open. Daisuke stepped outside, looking around. Usually there were a couple of older students coming up to have a nap, but not until it was warm enough outside, in late April.

He spotted the new teacher, leaning against the railing, observing the school yard. He had a cigarette between his fingers.

Chance,
Daisuke thought. He felt a little excited even though he won’t be able to smoke.

“Aren’t teachers supposed to smoke in the teachers lounge, sensei?” he asked, making the older man turn around.

“I prefer smoking in the fresh air,” the teacher said.

Daisuke walked over and stood by him, leaning on the railing as well. He looked down to watch the first year students walking around the fair, where the clubs’ representatives were attempting to get them to join their club. Some other students were playing mini soccer on the lawn. A few girls were sitting on a bench, watching them and gossiping. Funny Daisuke had never seen how lively the schoolyard was during the breaks.

“I’m sorry, did I step into your turf?” his teacher asked.

“Oh, it’s okay. I was just going to…” Daisuke raised his eyes. “Nap a little…”

“Don’t let me be in your way.” The teacher smiled at him.

Daisuke felt his stomach flutter again. He clutched the railing. It was a playful little smile that probably didn’t mean anything, but Daisuke found it… beautiful.

“Ne, sensei…” he started saying. “Do you mind me asking how old are you? You look really young,” he said, using a most polite language.

The teacher looked away and chuckled a little. He returned his eyes to Daisuke. “If you had shown up on time for class, you wouldn’t have missed my introduction.”

Daisuke gave him a sheepish smile. “I’m sorry. I will never be late again… for your classes…”

The teacher chuckled again, but seemed to be in a good mood. He leaned again on the railing, took a drag from his cigarette and said quietly, “I’m 27. It’s my third year teaching in High School,” he said. “I was formerly teaching at a private school though.”

“Oh, really?” Daisuke showed interest. “Which one? I was almost sent to Azabu,” he said.

“Azabu? And you didn’t get accepted?” The teacher smiled.

“I wanted to go to a public school…” Daisuke explained. Since Azabu was a boys only school… his old reasoning for declining the private school seemed laughable now. The truth was he applied to Shirashi because Yuu-chan did.

“I taught at Joshibi,” his teacher revealed.

“Joshibi? Is that a school for girls only?” Daisuke asked.

“Yes, it’s an art school for girls.”

Daisuke smiled, thinking the ice between them was starting to melt. Unfortunately, the bell rang and his teacher took a whiff from his cigarette and turned to face him. “Guess it’s time to go.”

The boy nodded and bowed. It was bad enough he had to end his conversation with Moriyama-sensei when it was just starting to go somewhere, but it was even worse that he and his fellow students were going to spend the next two hours before going home cleaning the classroom, the hallway and the restrooms. He hated the first day of school, even if they didn’t do any studying and were sent home early.

As if the teacher was getting back at him, Daisuke was put on the bathroom cleaning task. Yuuto hurried to volunteer himself and so he found himself sweeping the bathroom’s floor together with Daisuke and two other boys who were cleaning the toilet stalls. He stopped and rested his hands on the broom. “Hey, Daisuke…”

“Hm?” Daisuke continued sweeping the floor.

“What do you think of Moriyama-sensei?” he asked. “He’s pretty cool, isn’t he?”

“Mmmm… yeah…” Daisuke replied, walking backwards with his broom until he was back to back with Yuuto. “I’d totally do him…”

Yuuto was dumbfounded for a moment, then blushed. “I-idiot… stop joking around.”

“I’m serious…” Daisuke said. “I’d even let him do me…”

“He’s a teacher,” Yuuto stressed.

“Yeah… I’m trying to work on that…” Daisuke sighed.

Yuuto scowled and returned to sweeping the floor. “You’re crazy.”

“That’s probably true…” Daisuke agreed calmly. “By the way, Yuu-chan… how are things going with the girlfriend?” He turned to look at his friend with a smirk.

“Wh-what girlfriend?!” Yuuto blushed again.

“Oh, you can’t hide anything from me…”

“Idiot!”

“What, what, what?” The other boys stepped out of the bathroom stalls. “Kaname has a girlfriend??”

“No, I don’t!” Yuuto poked Daisuke with the broomstick.

One of them laughed. “Of course not, how would Kaname have a girlfriend before we do?”

“Hey, hey… Yuu-chan is way cuter than both of you!” Daisuke stood between them. “If I were a girl I’d be—“

“Daisuke!” Yuuto interrupted him, his face turning a deep purple-red color. “Get back to work!!”

“You started it…” Daisuke stuck out his tongue and returned to sweeping the floor.

Finally their tasks ended and they were free to go home. Daisuke stopped walking after they crossed the gates. He looked at his friend.

“I’m sorry, Yuu-chan, go home without me.”

“Where are you going?” Yuuto turned around.

“I’m going to visit some friends…” Daisuke rubbed the back of his head. “In Shinjuku.”

Yuuto looked at his friend silently. Even though he was standing right in front of his eyes, the distance between them seemed so large. Daisuke was far away from him. Deep down, he knew it was bound to happen one day. They were just too different. Everyone thought it was odd they were good friends. He has prepared himself to that day, especially in middle school, when Daisuke started having girlfriends, but he didn’t expect it to feel so painful.

“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said quietly and walked away.

Daisuke turned to join other groups of students that were heading towards the train station. Seeing Yuu-chan looking so dejected made him feel bad. But he had to see his friends and seek advice. The desire to conquer the man, who happened to be none other than his homeroom teacher, was stronger than the guilt.

“You’re what?!”

Yoshimura, Tachibana and Nakagawa all stared at him.

Daisuke shrugged and repeated, “I want to seduce my teacher.”

“You mean you haven’t already?” Satou asked from the floor. He and Shima were hogging the wii for championship.

Tachibana shot a glare at him and returned his eyes to Daisuke.

“Let it go, Dai-kun. Seriously, let it go.” He shook his head.

“Didn’t you sleep with your teacher, Tachi?” Satou raised his head again and received another glare.

“It was a teacher at my school, not my teacher and… oh, just go back to your game!!” He gave his attention to the teen again. “There are some things that are just taboo. Firstly, how do you know that he likes men? And anyway, doing it with a teacher… you’re risking your future as well as his career.”

“It’s just…” Daisuke hesitated. “He’s so sultry. When I saw him for the first time it was like, bam! Something hit me… it felt funny… in my stomach…” he mumbled. “I almost had an instant hard-on just from looking at him…”

The three men exchanged looks.

“Sounds like you’ve fallen in love…” Yoshimura commented, rolling the joint between his fingers.

“Eh, no way,” Daisuke jolted back. “I’m just really attracted to him.”

“Strange feelings, a bolt of lightning… definitely sounds like Cupid in the works…” Tachibana hummed. “I guess it had to happen.”

“What?” Daisuke was confused.

“First love. It’s so cute.” He clapped his hands together in mock prayer. “Well, too bad it’s destined to fail… but don’t feel bad, most first loves do…”

“That’s why we don’t do love…” Yoshimura nodded.

“I’m not in love,” Daisuke grumbled. “I don’t even know him, I just met him…”

“Love at first sight…” Tachibana sighed, holding a hand over his heart. “So romantic. I didn’t know you had it in you, Dai-kun.”

“I just want to fuck him…” Daisuke sighed. “Don’t you have some advice to give me?”

Yoshimura patted the teen’s shoulder in sympathy. “Just wait till everyone leaves for home, lock the classroom and ravish him.”

Takashi!” Tachibana raised his voice. “What are you teaching the child?! Although,” he turned back to Daisuke, “Waiting until everyone leaves is not a bad idea. You don’t want anyone catching you together.”

“So what should I do?” Daisuke asked. “Usually I would be straightforward and just ask him, but he’s a serious man and I don’t want to…” He dragged his feet, feeling uncomfortable. “I don’t want to turn him off and have him hate me…”

“You definitely need to test the water first… “ Tachibana rubbed his chin. “And try to get on his good side.”

Yoshimura stretched his arms, the joint dangling from the corner of his mouth. “But man, I didn’t think Daicchin would fall in love so fast…”

“Yes, yes, yes…” Daisuke made a face. “If you see him, you’d feel the same way.”

“Leave the High School student alone,” Satou peeped from his corner again. “He just wants to improve his grades…”

“In sex education?” Shima asked and they snickered together like children.
