After all That's Said and Done

Davis returned to the village the next day after all his apologies were said and done. He wanted to go back with Andrin, but he didn’t want Davis to come back with him. He thought that he should rest at his own home, even though he would get better care at his court. But both men knew that if they both showed up at the court, everyone will be talking and Canon would put his plan into action. So before they parted ways, they thought up a plan that would fool everyone in the court.

“Why don’t I pretend to be your pet?” Davis said, thinking of a way he could come back and live with the wolf.

“My pet?” Andrin laughed.

“Yeah. I read that the vampires have them in the central city, so maybe not you. But I will be your sex toy instead of you food.”

Andrin laughed and wrapped his arms around Davis’s waist. “You know, that could work. But you need to come back as soon as that arm is healed, if not then Canon and the others will get suspicious.”

“I will.” Davis replied, pecking him on the lips and waved good-bye.

Andrin wanted to grab Davis and pull him back into another kiss, this time more passionate but he was too into a daze. Davis had been separated from him for three months, so he had forgotten what Davis’s kisses felt that he was spellbound by the one he left on his check. He was on cloud nine all the way back home. Kadin and the rest of his court were all happy to see him arrive back safely, but Kadin was also expecting for Davis to be at his side when he returned.

“Where’s Davis?” he asked, looking around for his friend’s lover.

“He’s back at the village.” Andrin replied, getting of the cloud quickly once he arrived back.

“Is he okay?”

“He is fine. He stumbled down a hill and sprain his arm, so I sent him back to get medical help back at the village. He will be back in a few short weeks.”

“That’s good.” Kadin sighed, “So is there anything that I can get you?”

“Yeah.” Andrin turned a stern look on his face. “Get me Canon and everyone else in the inner court. I am calling an emergency meeting.”

“Yes, sir.” Kadin said and hurried off to find everyone in the inner court.

“You called for us? Jaxon said solemnly as he, Canon, and Sinan walked into the thrown room.

“Yes, I did.” Andrin replied, looking up from some papers that Kadin had gave to him when he arrived. He was too much into his thoughts that he didn’t even hear his men come in. “Please, have a seat.” he told them. He had arranged for three chairs to be place in front of his throne so that he could have a face-to-face talk with all three of them.

“What is it you need to talk about?” Canon asked, staking the middle seat so he was eye-to-eye with his king.

“Well, first of all…” Andrin started, sitting up so he was properly talking to them. “I have gotten letters from my alchemists and Kadin saying that almost all of my programs have been shut down. Now Canon, can you tell me why these projects have been terminated?”

“Well…” Canon started to say, adjusting himself in his seat and trying to come up with a believable answer for him. “The programs that have been shut down were ones that we saw were falling through.”

“We as in whom?” Andrin asked, narrowing his eyes at the bear.

“We… as in me, Sinan, Jaxon and Kadin, your majesty.”

“Anyone else?”

“No, sire. No one else.”

“Really? Because I talked to Kadin and he says he had no idea that these programs were shut down until he got back from my search.”

“Well, we all checked the programs together and we made the final vote---without him of course. The law says that you need three out of five votes to have the item pass.”

“And may I remind you, Canon, that that law---which was set by my father---also states that the king can veto the vote and pass or deny the vote anyway possible.”

‘Yes, sir it does.” Canon sighed, knowing where this was going and the other did too.

“Now then, looking at all the programs that have been shut down I have asked all but one to be up and running again.”

“Which one have you shut down?” Sinan asked.

“Yours.” Andrin smiled, evilly. “The one that has MY alchemists searching and making new weapons of mass destruction.”

“But, Sire,” Canon protest, “We need that program!”

“What for?” Andrin asked. “We are not at war with anyone, and nobody in this country tends to be within the next few years. So there is no need for that program.”

“You are making a big mistake!” Canon growled and threw the chair at him.

Andrin ducked as the chair came flying towards him, just missing his head and having the guards come running to protect their king. Andrin stopped his guards from protecting him and asked them to go back to their posts. “You’re right; I did make a big mistake.” Andrin said, stepping off of his throne and getting up into Canon’s face. “I made the mistake of placing you, Sinan, and Jaxon, on my court. Now, I want all three of you to get out of my court. And I don’t want any of you to show your ugly mugs here EVER again.”

Canon growled low in his throat, as did Jaxon and Sinan (who whinnied.) “So be it.” Canon spat. “But mark my words; you have not seen the last of us.”

“I plan on it.” Andrin smirked. “Now leave.”

With a small bow from all three of them, they left without saying a word and left Andrin to himself. Andrin heaved a giant sigh as he marched up the small steps to his throne, and slumped into it with his lower paws hanging off the side. He swung them back and forth as he thought about what he had done; thinking that if what he did was such a good idea. True his court turned on him; they had such great ideas when it came news ways of helping the kingdom. Canon even took him and his brother in when their father had fallen ill and Ante wasn’t old enough to rule the kingdom, so he had too for a few years. He took a deep breath in and sighed for the second time and covered his head with his hand, he didn’t know what to do now.

“Andrin?” Andrin raised his head and saw Kadin standing in front of him, a worried look on his face. “You okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine.” Andrin smiled weakly, “Just tired.”

“What happen to Canon, Sinan, and Jaxon?”

“I threw them out.”

“What?”

“I found them guilty of treason, and threw them out of my court.”

“Do you want me to set up a meeting with the whole court to disuse this matter with them.”
“Yes, please.” Andrin sighed. “And please tell no one to bother me for the rest of the day.”

“Yes, Sir.” Kadin bowed and went to go set up the meeting and tend to his duties.

“Glad to see you’re back.” Jeffery scuffed as Davis walked back into the house. He was sitting in his chair again, warming himself by the fire as he came in.

“Glad to see you’re back too.” Davis replied, shutting the door behind him. “How is your head?”

“Fine, no thanks to you. I woke up a five minutes later and you were gone, I knew you were going to see that demon.” he looked back to see his grandson and was surprise to see his arm in a sling. “What happen to you arm?”

“I sprang it.” Davis said nonchalant. “I was heading back towards home and I fell off a cliff, or a hill---I don’t really know. Anyways, I sprang it okay.”

“Fine, doesn’t matter to me. You don’t care about me, you just ran away to fine your precious Andrin.”

“That’s not true. When you where knocked out I rushed to your side to see if you were alright. I was worried.”

“No you weren’t.”

“Yes, I was.” Davis argued with him and knelt down by his side. “Listen, you might not like my choices in life. And you might not like Andrin for what he did to you when you were young. But Andrin is a nice guy---furry.”

“No he is not. I have my findings on him, look them up in my study if you don’t believe me.”

“He did those things to you because you brought it on yourself. You captured him and tortured him till he almost died, he was protecting himself.”

“Is that what he told you?”

“Yes, and I believe him.”

“You shouldn’t”

“Grandfather, I do not want to argue with you. If you cannot see the good in the Furry King, then that’s fine. But I am not arguing.” and with that Davis turned on his heels and went into his bedroom for rest.

Davis stayed at his family’s home for another six weeks, resting his sprang arm and trying to write with his left hand. He had to laugh at his poor writing skills, but he was managing to get his letters out to Andrin and he was able to understand them. Mary was shocked to find her son had hurt himself, and stayed at his side twenty-four seven. She didn’t even mind the carrying pigeon coming and going everyday, she had accepted the fact that her son was in love with a furry.

“So, what does this furry look like?” Mary asked her son after she released the pigeon out the window for the day.

“He looks like any other wolf.” Davis replied. “Only he stands on his back paws like a human. “I have a picture, do you want to see?”

“Yes, I do.” she smiled, recalling a memory of a furry that her husband told her about. Davis asked for her to get his bag and bring it to him. She did and Davis ruffled through his bag, and pulled out his journal and notes. Peeling back the pages, he found the one he was looking for and showed his mother the picture of Andrin. “Is this him?” she asked, talking the page from Davis.

“Yep, his name is Andrin.”

“Andrin you say? Wow, he is a looker.” she smiled and stared into the eyes of the furry. Her smile got bigger as she felt her body start to heat up. She began to squirm around in her chair, trying not to touch herself in front of her son. Her mouth built up in saliva and she swallowed hard, just like her son did the first time he laid eyes on the handsome King.

“I better take this back.” Davis said, noticing his mother’s same reactions.

Once Davis took away the picture, Mary went back to her old self and smiled down at her son. “I’m sorry, Davis. I did not know what got into me.”

“It’s okay mom.” he told her. “I acted the same way when I see the picture, it’s the eyes. Furries can do that to people.”

“Really, wow. You’re father didn’t tell me about that.”

“Papa told you about furries?”

“Yes. But he didn’t tell my much, just that they are really genital creatures that have the same features as us.”

Davis smiled up at his mom, who he had a new respect for and hugged her tight. “I love you.” he said, his mouth pressed against her shoulder.

“What’s this all about?” Mary asked, shocked at her son’s sudden actions.

“Well,” Davis said, pulling back from his mother, “After my arm is held, I am going to be living with Andrin.”

Mary was again shocked to hear this, and tears started to form in her eyes. She didn’t want her only son to leave her, but she understood how important the king meant to him---and how Andrin meant to him. She smiled as she held back the tears and hugged her son close to her breast. “I love you too, Davis.” she said, chocking on tears.

“Please don’t cry mom.” Davis softy said. “I won’t be far away, and I will return to visit---with Andrin at my side.” Mary laughed and wiped away her tears, happy for her son that he would be in safe hands of a well beloved family friend.

“Good night, Davis.” she smiled, tucking her son in later that night and kissed him on the cheek,

“Night.” Davis replied, settling in for the night. He yawned as he shut his eyes and fell asleep fast.

Mary smiled down at her sleeping son and sighed, exiting the room so that Davis could sleep and went out and sat with her dad near the burning fireplace. “Hello there dad.” she sighed as she poked the fire to get it going again. Jeffery didn’t reply to his daughters greeting and turned the page of her book. “I see you are re-reading your notes.”

“Yep.”

“What are you trying to fine?” she asked, taking the empty chair next to her father.

“A way to show Davis that he is wrong about that demon he loves so much.”

“Dad!” Mary gasped, standing up and taking his notes away from him. “You are out for revenge, aren’t you?”

‘No I am not.” Jeff yelled, trying to reach for his book of notes.

“Yes you are. You are out for revenge and taking it out on your grandson.”

“Mary, you are being ridiculous.”

“Me…being ridiculous? I am not. Dad…” Mary didn’t know what to say, her head was so mixed with emotions and thoughts that she didn’t know what to say next. Finally, after a moment so silence, she sank down into the chair again and rested her head against the back. “You crazy old fool.” she sighed. “You are so blind, your grandson is in love and you are bring him down.”

“I know he is in love, but with the wrong species---and gender. He should find a nice girl to settle down with, what about that Jones girl down the hill.”

“DAD!” Mary cried out. “Besides the fact that Andrin tricked you, and imprison you for five years, why do you hate him so much?”

“Why? Because he was the one who killed Gabe!” Jeff cried out.

‘No he did not. Gabe was killed by gypsies on the way back from the Kingdom’s annual meeting.”

“Yes. But during that year it was held it at the Furry Court.”

“That means nothing.” Mary argued with him.

“It does.” Jeff replied. “You see, Gabe stayed behind to talk with King Rais about a few extra plans and ideas King Edward had come up with the furry wolf. So he volunteered to stay behind and talk with him about them. Just before he left, Andrin came running up behind him and gave him some charm---or something, I didn’t know what it was. But…if Andrin hadn’t given him that charm, Gabe would still be alive today.”

“Where did you hear that from?” Mary asked.

“I was talked to a few furries at Gabe’s funeral, and they blame Andrin for his death.”

“So that makes you think you can do the same?”

“If Davis did the same thing, I would blame him too.”

“Dad, Andrin didn’t cause my husband’s death, he was caption of the guard and risked his life to safe the king. He was a good man, and so is Andrin. So please, when Davis leaves, try to be happy for him.”

“Davis is leaving us? When?”

“When his arm is healed, but till then please be nice to him. I am going to bed now, good night.” Mary sighed and wondered off towards her bedroom.

The fallowing Monday Davis was happy to see that his arm had fully healed, and sent a message to Andrin saying that he was coming back the next day. Andrin was thrilled to get the letter, and replied to Davis that they would set their plan into action. “Just play along when you arrive.” Andrin replied to his letter. Davis smiled and wondered on what Andrin was planning to doing. He only thought about it for a few minutes, he wanted to be surprise when he arrived and left it at that.

“Well,” Davis sighed, standing before his mother and grandfather. “This is it.” he smiled and hugged his mother good-bye.

“I am going to miss you.” Mary said, holding back tears. “Please visit us every month…or at least try.”

“I will, even if I have to force Andrin to let me go.” he laughed and turned to his grandfather. “Well…good-bye.” Davis said, sticking out his hand to shake his hand.

“See ya.” Jeffery spat, turning his head away from Davis.

“Dad.” Mary mumbled, nudging him in the arm.

“Sorry, I forgot.” Jeffery mumbled back. “Good-bye.” he said, shaking her grandson’s hand. “Take care of yourself, Davis. And…don’t let Andrin get your feelings mixed up, you know that he can do that to you. And just to let you know, if things don’t work out with that beast, you always have a home here.”

Davis smile and felt really happy that his grandfather told him that, and he wrapped his arms around his neck and squeezed him tight. “Thank you.” Davis said, squeezing him tighter. “Even though you might say it truthfully, I am happy you said it.”

“I did mean it.” Jeff said, gently laying his hands over his grandson’s head and shoulder. “I want you to live a happy life, whom ever you fall in love with. I just want you to be happy that’s all, you are the last of our bloodline so you better not waste your seed on somebody who doesn’t love you.”

“I won’t.” Davis replied, letting go of his grandfather, and thinking of what he over heard about how Andrin was trying to find a way of males to have babies.

After everything was said and done, he gave his mother one last hug goodbye and set out back towards his new home and back to his love. He couldn’t help but to run down the hill and out of the village, hoping that he would arrive at the Willow tree faster. But he was out of breath by the time he was out of the gates. He spent the rest of the day holding his side from the cramp he developed in his side, and hobbled all the way to his destination. Upon arrive, he rested for half an hour or so before he went in. after that, he repositioned his bag on his shoulder and headed into the furry court.
