Beta, HumanInfiltrator aka Joe =^-^=
“uhhhm…” Currently you could seethe newest arch druid of Kunuaenah sitting on the bare floor. In front of him
was a low table and on it a mountain of books. Makshahiarass had brought the
youth and the sleeping Cessnal directly to his rooms. Said rooms
were an experience in itself, and certainly not the ones he and Aoras found the
sleeping priest in at the first time. The doors were heavily guarded from a
gigantic anaconda spirit. That beast had been so huge; Kinjou automatically
took a step back when he saw it appear before them for the first time! The
cleric gave him an almost apology look seeing his reaction. “I forgot to tell
you…however, Suirah was a present from my master, and she guards the doors to
my rooms. You don’t have to fear her.” With that
said Makshahiarass had told the beast that Kinjou and Cessnal were not to
attack but to protect, and that they stayed here with him for a while. The
animal spirit just hissed at that and vanished again. Later Quetzcoal told
Kinjou that all lead priests had such a spirit to guard their rooms and only
they had them. Sheesshkass gave his servants not to everyone, they were a clear
sign that a lead priest lived in a room. Following them through the upper
realms everywhere to guard them…it made Kinjou wonder about the amount of
enemies one of Sheesshkass lead priests must have to need such a powerful
spirit to guard them instead of only elite nagaguards. The rooms
itself were much brighter as he had awaited them to be…and…had acquired
a…erm…new interior? …means, Makshahiarass, not having been inside of them since
Kinjou’s transformation, hadn’t seen his walls since them. To say that the Naga
was stunned was an understatement, because his room had suddenly a new…view. The side
wall, were he always had his sleeping place situated in front of, formerly with
pictures on same one hanging behind it, now sported large roots of the trees of
Kinjou’s Forrest from above his room! Sadly, both found out this way just how
deeply tree roots could grow! Much to Kinjou’s embarrassment, who hat to squirm
for a few minutes under the enraged clerics stare at him, which accused him
without words rightfully of the demolition of his room wall. Luckily for
Kinjou the tree roots were covered with leaves and vines that had white flowers
blooming on them that smelled very pleasing to the Nagas sensitive nose…still,
Makshahiarass was feeling a little more than peeved! If he had wanted a Forrest
growing inside his rooms he would have asked for it…but he couldn’t really put
the full blame on Kinjou and so, he gave up and simply ignored the sudden
greenery in his rooms. At Kinjou’s
question why Aoras and he had found him in the other room first, the Naga
seemed surprised. “You have been in there?!?” He gave the youth a thoughtfully
look. “You mean we shouldn’t have?” Kinjou was confused, what did Makshahiarass
mean? The Nagalord nodded. “No! Certainly not, it was sealed off from a spell;
I hid there from Hammer’s clerics, in case they went further inside of the
temple as planned…how strange…” he mused that it must have been Cessnal's
unknowing work that made it possible for the two to enter and then called for
Quetzcoal and Askan. The two
Naga and Kinjou soon found themselves back, sitting in front of the large
amounts of books to read and study. Eying each other confused and subdued all
the while. Makshahiarass had told them to stay out of his way and to learn, and
then mumbled something about Naga and druid sitting along with it that he had
already enough to do without that. All three on the floor had blushed madly at
his comments and put their noses into the books he had let come for them. Cessnal
happily slept through all of that without even to turn on Makshahiarass huge
bedding. Kinjou’s
desk mostly held history books, both human and Naga, inside of them. Some were
books about the different deities of his world. One was an atlas filled with
all kind of maps of the different continents one other showed only maps of
Tulan. With the words from the lead priest that he should put his new talent to
good use…and to all of them, that he would later test them (The last earned him
gulps) Makshahiarass left them to themselves. He was currently speaking with
another priest, older then the three on the floor and him it seemed, about some
politics, concerning his mines and the losses of good tunnels in the metal
mines through time. Kinjou
stole another look into the cleric’s direction: it was interested him what the
other did. He slowly got through observing Makshahiarass work himself through
his normal workload, how much the other had to do each day. Next to the
lead priest now rested another Naga, also older from what Kinjou could tell,
and was writing what his leader told him to write down, making notes and such.
The currently speaker wasn’t the first one the new druid saw come, talk and go
again this day. Shifting his focus back to his book, one that explained the
different hierarchy and priest systems of different gods and goddesses more in
detail as normally was known from everyone, Kinjou realized slowly how big
Tanaurim really was. Tanaurim, it
wasn’t only restricted to the temple he currently lived in, it was the entire
line of the great mountain back of these mountains here! It lay almost
completely under the mountains, only a few of the large valley’s were cultured
and lived in by Naga. It was huge! Taking the old book away with making a
clumsily note with the number of the site he was reading before on a paper,
Kinjou took out anew the atlas of Tulan to look under Tanaurim on the maps.
More and more the youth understood how hard the other cleric must have it each
day. His lands lay directly in the middle of three of the biggest countries on
the maps and only one of them was a Naga one. Both others
belonged to the humans and other races and Kinjou got slowly too how many
troubles that alone brought with it. The mountain back finally ended in the
west at the ocean coast, at the rim of the land of the sailors and in the east,
a part of it ended in the western human kingdom. Inside his mountains, Tanaurim
held some of the biggest metal mines for gold, iron and other minerals, needed
for forging armors and weapons and for other purposes. Tanaurim was a rich
country…in that matter. But in
other, it had huge problems. Aoras had
been right when he had told Kinjou that Makshahiarass could have kept the
intruders of his realm out, but then had lost his way to their food resources
too. Tanaurim’s greatest problem lay in exactly that, food. Sure, they did grow
large amounts of vegetables and corn in the valleys in the mountains, but meat
was the biggest problem. And the most Naga ate meat, some types even only that.
They raised flocks of cows and such too, but it wasn’t enough to fill
everybody’s stomach. Makshahiarass had to get it from other lands in exchange
for digger out metals, minerals and jewels. They had
also not the skills of the humans to produce good corn, like Narkan’s people
did it or place enough to grow more animals. And until
late, they also had no woods to get wood from or to hunt in, and it was still
not certain if Kinjou would allow them to do so. Makshahiarass rubbed his chin
wearily. Luckily his normally no good brother had thought of their problems at
hand and brought a large amount of meat with him to look if the rumors were
true or not. After 100 years of sleeping, the most of the gardens and fields
had been destroyed and the former cow flock had nearly been gone totally. What had he
awaited? It was the
way of things when no one looked after the animals…Makshahiarass lips left a
powerful curse. He shocked his pupils with it a lot. Shaking his head and one
hand waving it off he hushed them back to their books, it wasn’t their problem:
it was his. He had to take care of his people here. Resting his head in one
hand, the priest was too focused on his inner musings over the last news from
one of his counselors concerning their low food problem that he didn’t notice
Kinjou stand up slowly and come over until the youth had already settled down
next to him again. For a
moment Kinjou could clearly see the worry for his subjects in the others eyes,
then it was gone again. Giving Kinjou a questioning look Makshahiarass just set
on to ask what was unsettling the youth when Kinjou’s mind voice filled his
mind out. *I
listened, I am sorry. I didn’t mean to intrude…you know, she has nothing
against it that your people use her Forrest to hunt. Rather she knew about it
that this could happen and told me beforehand that I had to accept that fact
when putting it here.* The young man fell silent for a while, eyes downcast,
thinking, as the now wide awake and alerted cleric of Sheesshkass noted. When Kinjou
spoke inside of his mind again, he sounded calm and even happy a little. *The
Forrest above our heads is much bigger as you think. It didn’t stop to grow
until a few hours ago…it just did grow more away from the entrance.* Kinjou
laid his head to the side as he often did it and gave Makshahiarass one of that
slanted looks the other found so endearing every time Kinjou did that. *you
remember about the tunnels that have fallen in and looked fairly new, as one of
the Naga from before has told you about?* Makshahiarass nodded and set up a
little more to listen more closely to what Kinjou told him. The youth pointed
one hand to his damaged wall in the room. *I fear the
most of it was my work, sorry.*The eyes of
the priest widened slowly at that confession and what it did imply. *You mean,
your, I mean her Forrest grew that large?!?* The youth scratched his neck
clearly uncomfortable and finally nodded. *I think it destroyed the old, hollowed
out mountain in the middle of the mountain back completely…sorry! At least it
feels like it…* Now Kinjou looked clearly contrite. Across Kinjou,
Makshahiarass didn’t even hear the rest; his mind was too busy already trying
to count in kilometers to measure out how big exactly the new addition to his
lands had to be in real. A whistle left his lips finally when his mind had
changed the map inside his mind and inserted the now new borders of the new
Forrest into it. Sitting back on his coils he gave another whistle out. “That
new holy Forrest is Large!” Askan and
Quetzcoal sitting still on the side of the two looked up confused. “And you
really would agree to let my people hunt in there?” Now Makshahiarass eyes practically
glowed. If Kinjou really would permit them access to the large Forrest, to hunt
inside of it, maybe even allow his farmers and other outside living Naga to
raise cows and other animals and to farm
on the rims: nearly 80% of his former problems with food would resolve
themselves! The two Naga priests in train looked also intently at the youth
sitting next to Makshahiarass tail. Finally having figured out about what
exactly these two had to somehow a talk about right now. Kinjou
nodded slowly. “Yes, she and I would, but she makes three conditions.” The lead
priest of Sheesshkass nodded, he had anticipated that the lady would have rules
for them to follow. “I have not expected less, what does your merciful lady
have us doing?” Kinjou bit his lip nervously for a second than he looked back
at the Nagapriest in front of him. “Actually not much, really, Kunuaenah knows
that you will let her followers pass without harm, but she told me that it
would be wiser for the future to ensure this with what she called a contract?”
The high priest nodded, it was wiser in many ways and Makshahiarass knew this
too. “That is,
wiser, Kinjou. This way, others and future generations will have to play along
the rules too. It is always better to ensure things this way. Take it as a good
future lesion out of it: make always sure to have clear contracts about the
dealings with your Forrest or her interests.” At that Kinjou nodded slowly.
“The others have to do with us druids, and the wood itself. The heart of it, no
one except druids have to be in there. Can you accept that?” Here Makshahiarass
could only nod strongly. This also was to be expected from Kunuaenah. It was
her Forrest after all, hers and that of her druids. “The last?
I take it that that is the one most troubling you from the looks you give me.”
He smirked at Kinjou who suddenly felt the urge to squirm around on his sitting
pillow. The tall Naga gave an amused laugh. “Out with it Kinjou, it’s not that
I have not an inkling already what she told you…it is nothing I would normally
agree to but in this case I think I can live with it.” Kinjou
nodded again, clearly feeling better at that admission of the ruler of
Tanaurim. “She asks
if you and your kin could live with it that she established a druid order here
to teach new druids of her. And, of course, would tolerate some of her
followers to settle here. Not so many, just as are needed to take care of the
wood and to teach and such. She said you would know what she means.” He crooked
his head to the side again. Makshahiarass looked a little stunned now. He had
expected her to settle some of her druids here even hoped for it, his kin
needed them badly. But that she planned to build up a school here for them that
he hadn’t expected at all! It meant she would send really high ranking druids
here to teach the younger, new druids…his people could only profitable from
this. “Of course I agree! I was honestly not expecting her to go that far;
she…has only a few places where she let her druids teach new druids in the old
ways… However, to these conditions, I can freely say, that I can fully agree to
them.” The young man in face of him smiled brightly at that. “Then that also
means you would tolerate her healers teach new ones too?” Makshahiarass nodded,
grinning himself now too. From this arrangement, his people could truly only
profitable. Sure, his guards now had to double their efforts to guard his land
and hers and both inhabitants but in the end it would bring his people only
goods. Kinjou
suddenly stood up and looked Makshahiarass directly in the amber eyes…for a few
seconds, Sheesshkass lead priest and ruler of Tanaurim could catch a glimpse of
the arch druid, Kinjou would become in time. What he saw in that short moments
made the cleric wonder and even surer in his former decision to have Kinjou for
his mate. There was an unknown confidence in himself and stubbornness inside of
Kinjou’s grey eyes now that wasn’t there before. Strength and a hardness that
the youth normally didn’t let show and also, there was knowledge and secrets
inside of them and an intelligent look that made the priest think. All put
together made a truly beautiful picture. Yes, Makshahiarass thought, against
all odds, she chose wisely as it seems. We were the fools to not see that all
lurk inside of his eyes before and not her! He maybe is young now, but that
will not stay that way…I should have realized this all sooner, what a fool I am
are. The priest shook his head slightly to get rid of his musings with a guilty
smile aimed at himself. “Then allow
me, in the name of my goddess to accept your people inside her Forrest. They
may take from it what they need as long they do not overdo it and listen to
what the druids have to say and do not bring harm to her subjects. But since I
don’t know how to file out a contract about all of this: will it be sufficient
with you, the ruler of Tanaurim, to wait for my mentor to arrive here to let
him or her show me how do this?” At this Makshahiarass could only gulp
inwardly, this wasn’t the Kinjou he knew: this was the Arch Druid of Kunuaenah
that spoke here. “It will!”
Both nodded at the other. Then Kinjou gave a slight bow and went back to his
books…as if nothing had happened. Makshahiarass
gaze could only follow Kinjou’s frame back to there and watch him sit down to
once more read in his books. Inside his mind the cleric tried to get the new
Kinjou inside his brain. Had the youth always been like this? Or had this
change occurred when Kunuaenah made him to her arch druid…Makshahiarass wasn’t
really certain. But somehow, he got the feeling that behind Kinjou’s grey eyes
lay a lot more as he did lead on. That there was a lot more on the harmless
seeming young human as one would think, or spot when seeing Kinjou for the
first time. If
anything, the last day with him had told Sheesshkass high priest this
much. Watching
Kinjou read and makes notes and scowling at his still messy writings,
Makshahiarass wondered what all the knowledge in the books and the library and
the teachings of Kinjou’s soon arriving mentor would do to the youth in the
future. He couldn’t wait to see that! Grinning now Makshahiarass did ring a
small bell to call his secretary: he had some orders to write down and to give
out. Then he
took out some empty papers and took his feather to begin with this task. Not two
hours later, nearly the entire temple knew already about this union of the two.
Rumors were spread fast but soon quieted down from the priests and the guards. Keevorass,
despising that the news made him glad, was cursing about the troubles he had
with the newest addition to his workload! Currently he was practically marching
from Makshahiarass empty office to his private rooms to demand more guards!
This was a hell house without them! Growling the gigantic Naga reached the
entrance to only find out that Makshahiarass counselors seem to hold a meeting
here of all places. It took only one very loud hiss from the agitated python
Naga warrior to scatter them into all directions away from him. Satisfied to
have scared them, his mood lifted a few notches and he even grinned sharply
instead to glare as before. He didn’t
even bother to knock this time; giving the guard snake spirit a salute he just
entered and closed the door behind him firmly…it did the intended job. The
counselors inside fast quieted down and gave Makshahiarass a few badly needed
moments of peace. The diamond
Naga cursed the day he had sends Krintan away! He needed
him now badly. Fast hushing the ones that he didn’t need and sending them out
on minor tasks, he equally fast gave out other orders to the rest and also
sends them on their designed ways. Soon the room was cleared out…except one,
very big, agitated, Naga in the middle. Whose tail end tapped stressed against
Makshahiarass floor titles and had two of his arms crossed in front of his wide
chest and the other two hoisted up at his sides. An arched
eyebrow seemed to ask: well? “I know!! I
had no time to inform you before; I didn’t know myself that this would
happen…these moments happen allot lately, huh?” The red head nodded and
uncrossed his arms before his chest to rub with one wearily over his face.
“Yes, you could say that! Never less, Maksha, I need more guards. There is no
way around it with all the new problems I have to consider now!” Behind him
Kinjou lost his teapot at that admission. It fell loudly crashing on the floor.
Whirling around, Keevorass face took an almost comically look for two seconds
before he looked guiltily at the now blushing youth who now tried to pic up the
pieces from the stony titles. “I am sorry
Kinjou! I didn’t mean it like that…oh Sheesshkass bite me! I am sorry!” Instead
of looking angrily as all the others had done it today when he had snapped at
them accidentally, Kinjou gave him a bright understanding smile. It helped to
make Keevorass feel better in only moments. Cessnal's Keiprassel had this kind
of smile that could do that trick. “Don’t worry; I understand…well at least
enough to know what troubles we all must give you now. Aoras and Rial told me a
little of what you have to do all the day and from what I did just read; I
figure it must be more then have doubled in size now.” Keevorass
could only nod at that. Luckily, Kinjou didn’t make him furthermore cause of
stress. Cessnal's caretaker, despising him also being the new arch druid was
rather easy to handle. Kinjou was always making sure not to bother others too
much with Cessnal or him. The next words of Kinjou made Keevorass smile a
little. “Can I help you in any kind of way?” He shook his head. “Sadly, no. You
help me best right now with staying here with Maksha. It stops the most rumors
and idiots outside, from spreading them and so safe my guards from more work.
And I know then where you and Cessnal are.”
“Is it
already that bad?” Makshahiarass voice brought Keevorass head back around to
face his ruler. He nodded. “Yes! I found out through Rial just how many rumors
that duo has truly spread in the last days without us catching them doing so.
Most of them concerning our food problems but also they were also spreading
false rumors about Cessnal's Keiprassel! Now I need the army forces to calm all
down who do not know better outside the temple. I think you can imagine.”
Makshahiarass nodded calmly at that…at least at the outside he looked
calm…inside that was a different matter. “I see…”
And he truly did. “When is Krintan scheduled to arrive with the emissaries?”
His secretary looked at his leather bound book he had always with him to check.
“In one day at best, but I think it will take at least one more for them to
arrive, my lord.” “And Inoraan?” Keevorass voice sounded tense, he needed his
second in command back also badly to keep all in check. Currently he had
assigned Rial to Inoraan’s work and appointed Aoras to help him with all until
the guard was back. “At this evening, maybe tomorrow morning, captain. But I
think he will be here today. He did send a guard to fetch Maltaan: the druids
are badly wounded and unable through a dark spell to heal themselves. I did
take the liberty to send his apprentice instead, since the new mate of our
master, err, can’t go right now.” The old
Naga looked calmly at his young lord and the captain of the guard who both had
a relived look on their faces. He smiled at them and went back to his former
task, copying some orders. The two Naga just looked at each other with a grin
of their own, Dauksass, Makshahiarass secretary, was a godsend in both of their
eyes. At least the old secretary was
collected enough to take burden from their shoulders instead to put more onto
them. “Thank you
Dauksass. Keevorass, I take it you have the needed papers for me to sign?” The
captain nodded and held out to his friend the papers he was holding. The cleric
scanned them and nodded, his friend really needed those troops and now, they
could also sustain them now with their rations and such. He signed the papers
fast and gave them back to the waiting Keevorass who now sported a smirk. The last
paper caught Makshahiarass attention again. “You want
to promote that two? Not that I think of it as a bad idea, rather the
opposite.” The captain nodded. Yes, I need more lieutenants to manage this all,
just Inoraan isn’t enough anymore and besides: wasn’t it that anyways what our
master had in mind?” Makshahiarass agreed with Keevorass here. Concerning Aoras
it had been his lord’s intention to make him to one of his friend’s lieutenants
in the future. The mamba Nagablood had the required calm and overview for this
job and was trustful enough to not mess up or to talk too much. His eyes
strayed shortly over to Kinjou, who seemingly was absorbed into his books. He
knew better now as to believe that! Makshahiarass let a soft snicker escape and
signed the last paper too. “Alright, you tell them. Make sure that they know
what is awaited from them…scratch the last! I know you always do.” He grinned
widely at his childhood friend who grinned back to then leave them all again. Outside the
Naga captain awaited a stunning silence. Scanning the
hall before his ruler’s private rooms, Keevorass fast spotted Aoras. The mamba
Nagablood stood on the sidewall, leading to the tunnels with fife of the higher
ranking guards and watched calmly the crowd of Nagas that wanted to talk to
Makshahiarass on the opposite end of the hall. Keevorass suppressed a snicker
at that picture. Pointing at
the guards next to Aoras he gave out orders. You fife,
stay here and guard the doors. Make sure that only that one’s go inside that
Dauksass calls in. You!” He pointed at Aoras. “You come with me, and here, read
that, congratulations! And You!” He
pushed the paper from before in the surprised looking Aoras’s out held hand and
turned around again to the crowed of counselors. “If it isn’t really important
now, go and come back tomorrow, or make an appointment with Dauksass and his
aides. The others can stay. Krintan will be back most likely tomorrow, maybe
the day after. If it is concerning him, wait until then! What is this all, a
madhouse?! The last
was barked rather loudly. Nearly the half of them left quickly after that.
Aoras laughed quietly at that whilst folding the paper that promoted him and
Rial officially to the positions of lieutenants. His appearance had already
sent a few of them running. His captain’s bark was sending now even more away,
it was too comical to watch and would have been more than amusing if it
wouldn’t have caused such troubles right now. He watched a message runner enter
the hall and fast come over to Keevorass to tell him something. The captain
listened intently for a while and then nodded and turned back to the door he
had just closed a few seconds before. “Stay here
and wait for me. We have to talk…no better, get Rial and wait in my office, and
see to it that the healer’s section gets two more guards to hold out the curios
and get yourself the seal ring you both need from Dauksass office.” With that
Keevorass went back into Makshahiarass office: Kinjou’s mentors had arrived…and
in a really bad shape from what the messenger had just told him. Maltaan’s
apprentice had needed to wake up his master to heal them halfway enough. One of
them was a Naga druid, a rarity under his kin. A grass Naga from what Keevorass
was told. Not he then…he shook it off. The grass Naga was barely alive when they
brought him into the healer’s office. And they
had a female druid protector with them, also injured, and a seemingly human
child. Soo little had survived? Keevorass shuddered, it simply wasn’t going
into his head that these four should be all that had survived the attack…in the
wood had lived and worked nearly 1000 souls! It simply couldn’t be true! In the
section of the healers, Maltaan gasped when he saw the fully extend of
Eerisaan’s injuries. Even with him being
a grass Naga type, this was really bad! That he still lived showed endurance
beyond everything the healer did know of. He nearly didn’t recognize the other
druid. Jarrod looked too alien with his now white hair. And the old half elf
also sported bad injuries he had hidden from the others to not cause more
troubles…as also had the protectoress had done it. He cursed. What a stubborn
bunch of stupid’s! Just like
that always equally stubborn warriors! He mumbled
another curse and went to work. The apprentice of Maltaan had enough on his
hands with the druid protector to understand his mentors cursing all too well.
He still hadn’t gotten it in that Maltaan now was his master’s mate for the
time being. Shaking it off, the young healer went on to do his work. Jarrod
calmly watched his old friend working: he had heard the guards talking when
they brought them all inside the temple. He felt glad for Maltaan. They kept
telling Inoraan the newest happenings while he was away and that his captain
wanted to see him as soon he did arrive. It still amused the old druid to hear
the young Nagas call little Keevorass captain now! And the little Maksha, high
priest…he shook his head. It told him clearly how old he really was. Time was
so fleeting sometimes. Only Daanaanon had known how old Jarrod truly was. In
truth he was nearly as old as his old and now death dear former friend. From far
away he could feel soothing, calm thoughts coming. To stabilize Jarrod’s
troubled soul with them. Another of the older ones Jarrod did know,
Brhanahadon, the master druid of the southern holy Forrest of Kunuaenah, he did
send these helping thoughts to him now.
He was thankful for his old mentors help. To judge from the way they
reached him, his old mentor wasn’t far away from here…he mused about it but
then put it aside and concentrated on the existing link. *Where are you? I can
feel you near to us, did you leave your woods?* The calm
presence that Jarrod always connected to his former mentor filled out his mind.
*Not so
far…a few days away from you. She is sending me here, to make a decision. Do
not fret so much about things and beings that are gone and cannot brought back.
These broodings did you never something good, Jarrod. Tell the little diamond
that I arrive soon, together with my protector. He has not to send someone for
me, we will find our way alone and look after my little Keevorass for me in the
meanwhile…he will need your help as you know it too, to get through this with a
sane mind and soul. When he is told the news, heal now, all else has time enough
still…* With that the presence left Jarrod’s mind again. Watching
the healers do their works, the injured druid lay down on a bed and closed his
eyes to sleep until it was his time for it. Next to him, Kirin held tightly
onto Aika’s helmed whilst watching the healer help her. His deep brown eyes
never left the frame of his tall female sister/Mother replacement. His parents
had often told him that Aika was chosen from them to take care of him and his
now death sister should something happen to them. Aika was
his only constant being in his lonly little world now. He was it
too, who spotted the gigantic looking Naga enter the healing room first and
gasped promptly. This alerted Jarrod who looked up to see what had startled the
silent boy so much. Seeing Keevorass coming inside made him smile. You could
hardly call him #little# anymore, now could you? Still, in his eyes, Keevorass
would always stay the sweet little Nagaling he had once run over by accident.
To try that now was impossible; he chuckled until it did dawn him why Kirin had
gasped: of course he would be startled. Seeing
Keevorass green eyes widen and face pale rapidly in recognition when seeing the
child next to him, Jarrod sent a prayer to his lady: he needed her help in
this! End of chapter eleven.
