***Chapter 10: He’s broken ***

***Chapter 10: He’s broken ***

Andrew sat in the loveseat staring out the window watching the rain steadily beat the windows and city below. It had already been three days since the night Thomas and his men had attacked them, three nights since he’d seen Josh.

‘You’re sick!’

Andrew clenched his eyes shut and placed his forehead against the cool glass, tears stung his eyes. The words seemed to echo in his head every time he closed his eyes he remembered the anger, the disgust on Josh’s face, the coldness of his words. Opening his eyes he watched the people below move about; saw the way life for everyone else seemed to continue as if nothing had happened.

Slowly Andrew pushed himself up and looked around the penthouse, the still silence hung heavy on the air. Christian had not been around much after the attack occasionally checking in on Andrew, but nothing else. Since him and Christian had made love in the car, that had been it, Christian had barely spoken to him.
Padding through the rooms Andrew felt the lump appear in his throat, he suddenly felt so very alone.

***

Christian sat and listened, his office was silent, and everyone had long ago left after he had exploded at them again. Signing Christian lent back in his chair, the ache of his ribs felt like nothing compared to the rest of his body. Christian was tired, sore and in need of more rest then he had ever needed in his life, but he couldn’t seem to rest. His mind switched between Thomas and Andrew.

He had shot Thomas; he knew he had, twice in the chest. The man should be dead, but there was nothing. There where no threats, revenge hits, no news, just a nothingness that set Christian on edge. However Thomas wasn’t the reason he was staying locked away in the officer for the last three days.

Christian pushed away from his desk and walked over to the window, the rain continued on blearing his view of his penthouse. He hadn’t asked Andrew what had happened, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to know or not. Christian turned away from the window and let his eyes travel over his office, everything was neat and tidy, each item had its place and there was nothing personal at all in the room. Yet of all his power and control he could not seem to face Andrew, he could not bare the thought that the man he loved sat broken hearted over another.

Christian thought back to the way Andrew had looked stood dripping wet in the rain, the pain that clouded his face, they way he had turned towards Josh, had tried to turn from him to look at another. Grabbing his jacket Christian stormed out of the office, he had to know...

***

Christian could barely wait for the elevator doors to open as he moved into the penthouse; he looked around until his eyes rested on the small body of Andrew. The boy was just leaving the bathroom, his face damp with water, his eyes red from crying and Christian froze. He had wanted to shout at the boy to shake him, to confess his love to him, but seeing the boy’s broken face...

Christian moved around the room, dropping his jacket and wrapped Andrew into his body, he felt the boy within his arms break. Sobs racked the small body, arms tightly wrapped around him and hands bunched into his shirt, Christian felt Andrew’s legs buckle.

Andrew didn’t know what was happening for a moment as he was lifted into Christian’s arms; he wrapped his arm’s tightly around Christian’s neck and buried his face into the other man’s shoulder. He felt exhausted, his mind was spinning his body ached, he wanted to scream but he didn’t know at who or why.
He let Christian carry him to the sofa and stayed with his arms around him as Christian sat them both down. Normally Andrew would have been embarrassed at being sat on the other man’s lap like a child, but Christian felt so warm and safe that Andrew didn’t care.

Andrew didn’t know how much time passed, all he knew was that his head hurt, his eyes stung and Christian’s neat shirt was soaked with his tears. He gently pushed away from the older man keeping his eyes to the ground.

‘Feel better?’

‘Not really.’

He felt Christian take a deep breath, then a large hand tilted his face up to look into the midnight eyes. ‘Do you care that much of what he thinks?’

Andrew thought about it, ‘yes.’

‘Why?’

Andrew hesitated before lowering his eyes, ‘I love him.’

He felt Christian’s body stiffen, then relax the hand falling away from his face, ‘and me?’

The words where barely a whisper, Andrew shook his head, ‘I don’t know.’

‘I understand.’

Andrew stared into Christian’s dark eyes, he saw nothing to tell him to other man was lying but something in Christian’s voice told Andrew he was lying. Andrew was shocked as Christian brushed soft lips against his cheek, before moving from underneath him.

‘If you need me Andrew, I’m always here.’

Andrew watched as Christian moved out of the room, his head spun and his heart ached as he realised he wanted Christian to stay. Instead he turned and stared out of the large windows trying to understand why he suddenly felt more alone.

Christian nodded as if he understood and moved away from Andrew, he body shook and pain clung at his chest. He didn’t understand not really, he just wanted Andrew, but he forced himself away. Turning Christian watched as Andrew sat staring out of the window, leaving the room Christian leant against the wall. He wanted nothing more then to find that little punk and kill him for hurting Andrew.

He silently walked through to the kitchen; he could still feel Andrew's small body sobbing against his at the words of Josh. He closed his eyes and felt the rage pushing at him, he thought about how scared Andrew had been, how alone and how that...Boy- had.

Opening his eyes Christian slammed his hand hard into the tilted wall, letting the pain washed over him. His body still pulsed with rage; he brought his hand back again and hit the wall, listening to the crunch of bone. He didn't care; again and again he let his hand smash the tilted until blood slid down the wall.

Tears stung the older man's eyes and a sob threatened to overcome Christian, as he slid to the floor and hung his head. He loved Andrew so much it hurt but all he could do was sit and watch as the boy tore himself apart inside with the guilt and shame that Josh had forced on him. He felt sick and tired and suddenly very old. He had never felt like this about anyone and somehow an innocent boy had broken him. Slowly he pulled himself from the floor and straightened his clothes before leaving the room.

‘Andrew, I have to go out. I’ll be back.’

He didn’t look to see if Andrew heard him just moved towards the elevator, his hand throbbing and his heart breaking.

***

Andrew sat alone in the dark, worry moving through him. Christian had been gone all night, Andrew knew it was his fault, he had hurt him. Andrew glanced down at the phone that was gripped between his fingers, he had trying to call Christian but he had left his phone, something he never did.

This had made Andrew nervous but he stayed calm and waited. When the first light of dawn lit up the apartment he had phoned the police, asking them to look for him. Andrew closed his eyes and fury bubbled up again at being told, he’d have to wait 24 hours and Christian was an adult. He glanced up at the clock again, he’d been gone for over 19 hours and with Thomas and all of Christian’s other enemies.

Andrew felt sick he just wanted to let go of everything, and suddenly Andrew screamed, letting everything rush from him, anger, rage, hurt, pain everything. His lungs burnt and tears stung his eyes but he didn't care he needed to let go somehow. When he had finished he felt exhausted, his body ached and he let his shoulders slump, a low chuckle made his spin around.

Christian stood in the doorway his dark suit hugged his body, showing off his perfect form, dark hair fell into his eyes and a smile played on his lips.

'Have fun?'

Andrew blushed and opened his mouth to speak but stopped, he looked at Christian and felt his heart jump and suddenly he didn't care. Andrew closed his eyes, and run into Christian wrapping his arms around the older man, he didn't care what the world thought, he didn't care about Josh or Thomas or anything. Right now he care about the man who's body seemed to tremble against his arms.

‘I thought you’d been taken, or hurt or...or,’ Andrew trembled against the large man, his voice high and quiet.

‘I love you Christian! Please don’t leave me, I love.’

Andrew’s words where cut off as Christian’s lips pressed gently against his, as they parted Christian whispered, ‘I love you to...’
