Too Fast?
[[ OKAY, this might be the last chapter of this story. It totally depends on how many reviews I get for it. Like I said, if I don’t get reviews, it takes me longer to write and I’m hardly getting any and it makes me sad and stuff. SO, the more people review, I will continue… if not, then I won’t. lol. Okies! On with ze story!

Felix took in a sharp breath of air and looked up to Jason’s eyes that seemed to dripping in fear… he was crying. “Oh, Jase!” Felix exclaimed pulling himself up till he was sitting and holding Jason close, cradling the taller boy’s head in the crook of his neck, stroking Jason’s unruly hair. He really had no idea what to say. Was he ready to love Jason back?
The whole thing had come too soon. Wasn’t there supposed to be that long time in relationships where everything was still light hearted and you didn’t have to worry about anything? Felix sighed heavily. He really didn’t know what to do. Should he do what Mike had done to him? Just say he felt the same way so Jason wasn’t hurt? Was that even the right thing for Mike to have done?
“Jase-I – I don’t think I feel the same way y-yet…” he stammered out, crying already. He wanted the feel that way for Jason, and there sure as hell were times where he thought he did love him, but he wasn’t ready to feel that way.
Jason nodded solemnly. He wasn’t even sure why he’d said it. He figured he did love Felix, except in a more platonic way for now, it hadn’t grown beyond that yet, and he hadn’t given it a chance. Jason was about to explain that, opening his mouth to speak, but realized it would just sound like a defense to being rejected, so instead he kept his mouth shut. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to spring that on you… it kinda just… came out.” Jason sat up, his neck beginning to hurt from the odd angle “Are you mad at me, ‘Lix?”
Felix shook his head immediately “No! I was just… surprised. I mean… you never show much emotion and suddenly you say… that. You know? It just was… odd.” He said softly, not wanting to hurt Jason.
“Yeah, I don’t know why I said that. I do… but I mean… not quite in that way – Like, I care about you and I guess I’m sort of protective about you, but it hasn’t really grown beyond that.” He sighed “Sorry.”
Felix nodded with a soft smile. “You’re protective of me?” He was quite flattered even if Jason denied he said that, it was cute to hear it.
“Yeah… you know that time where I was really late to meet you and I was all weird and then we got in that huge argument and stuff?” Jason asked, looking at Felix for an answer.
“Yeah, I thought I was going to be charged with murder that day because I was so freaking pissed at you.” He said in a light tone, which definitely creeped out Jason a bit.
“Well… I was on my way out to meet you at the usual time, but then someone made a comment about wanting your body, but used much more vulgar words and kept going on and on and on about it, and he was making sure EVERYONE heard what he had to say, and he made some offhand comment to me about being close friends with you and how I probably did… stuff… with you, and I sorta just flipped out and beat the shit out of him then I felt bad so I took a hit.” He said, never meeting Felix’s eyes. “And I can’t believe I actually just told you that.” He said as a side note, impressed with himself.
“Wait, who said that stuff about me?” Felix asked, a bit pissed that someone would do that.
“It really doesn’t matter, ‘Lix, just forget about it, okay? Pretend I didn’t bring it up.” Jason said with a heavy sigh, regretting it already.
“Jase, just tell me who it was, I want to know. I should know so I know who to avoid.” The smaller boy reasoned.
Jason bit his lip hesitantly. “Eddie.” He said curtly. Felix just stared at him in shock. Eddie!? Eddie even knew how Felix felt about Jason AND he had a girlfriend! The stupid kid was going to get it, Felix would make sure of that.
“ ‘Lix, just forget it, please, I didn’t mean to make you upset.” He laid back down on the bed and pulled Felix to lay with him, Felix with his head resting on Jason’s shoulder.
“Why did you ask not to see me that night in the hospital?” he asked, it was a question that’d plagued him since the incident, and considering Jason’s reasoning for the other issue, maybe he would have a good reason for breaking Felix’s heart that night. He could only hope.
“My dad was there.” Deep breath. “We really just needed to talk. He thought I had quit morphine, I thought he knew I was still using, he was pissed I didn’t know my limits, I was pissed that he was being pushy…. I just… it would have been the wrong time, you know? Can I take you out to dinner tomorrow night?” He finished the sentence before he realized it was coming out. Wow, random time to ask someone out.
Felix stared at him blankly for a few seconds, blinking a few times. “Err… yeah?” he responded.
“Sorry… sorta just spit that out… I’m horrible with stuff like this.” Jason said blushing. Causing Felix to smiled wide.
“Aw, it’s okay!” He giggled “I’d love to go out to dinner with you tomorrow night!”

Jason's hands hadn't stopped shaking all afternoon. He'd only ever been on a date with one person, and that was a girl. He had no idea how to take out a guy. He let out a breath of air, finishing up the buttons on his grey dress shirt and double checked to make sure the fly on his black slacks was zipped. "alright, here goes hell" he murmured aloud, opening his door out into the hallway.
Felix had been in his room all afternoon trying to pick clothes out and what he was going to do. He decided on not too tight black pants and a nice black shirt. He slid a black studded belt on and pulled his green converses on. He made his way to his mirror to put some gel into his hair, rubbing his hands together and slicked it through his black hair. He rubbed his head quickly to tease the hair and stepped back to admire his look. He nodded in approval and looked for his wallet.
Jason made his way down the stairs and shifted his weight awkwardly for a few moments before looking at his silver watch. His father had given it to him for his recent 18th birthday, and Jason had decided to only wear it on special occasions. It was five past six... they were already five minutes behind schedule... not a good sign.
Felix flew down the stairs knowing he was late. "OH GOD JASON I'M SORRY!" he exclaimed as he almost fell down the rest of the steps. He caught himself before he did a face plant, chuckling to himself. "Sorry."
Jason smiled softly, too nervous to really let himself loose and laugh "It's okay, really, I was a bit late too." he assured, taking a step closer to Felix. "So...um, a-are you ready?" he asked a bit unsurely.
Felix caught his breath and fixed his hair and shirt. "Yessums. I'm ready." he smiled and awkwardly patted his legs on the side like a bird would. "Ready when you are."
Jason smiled wide. Felix was just too cute. "Okay, then off we go." he smiled putting an arm lightly around the back of Felix’s shoulders to lead him outside to his car that he'd brought and just 'forgot' to register at school. He really wanted to wrap his arm around Felix’s tiny little waist, but thought better of it. Not too fast he had to keep reminding himself "You like Italian food, right?" he asked nervously, as they approached his dilapidated hatchback.
Felix's heart did a leap in his chest as he felt Jason's arm wrap around him. He couldn't suppress the smile that broke across his face. He nodded as he heard the words Italian and food in the same sentence. "Yessums. I like both." he grinned.
"Both?" Jason asked, but just shook his head. He walked Felix over to the other side of the car, opening the passenger side of the door for him like his mother always taught him. He rushed over to his side and sat down, the cold air nipping at him already "Sorry the car's a bit dumpy, my dad wouldn't help me pay for it. " he said a bit embarrassed as he started up the engine.
"Yes, both. Food and Italian food is both good. And put together." he put his hands together to show what he meant. "It just yum delicious." he grinned as he sat down. "Thank you." he put his seatbelt on and waited for him.
"You're cute" he said quickly, feeling his cheeks burn up. thank goodness he had to look ahead at the road instead of Felix’s cute face. "So um... I made reservations for 6:30, but I didn’t really plan about after that, so whatever you want to do it fine if you just want to come back to the house or whatever." he stated, shifting the gear of his car, realizing how it definitely just sounded like he was trying to get Felix in bed. He could practically feel his face throbbing from blood flushing to his cheeks.
Felix just smiled dumb-like. "I'm fine with whatever as long as I'm with you." he grinned and looked out his window. "So, where are we going?"
"Um, do you know Angelina's Restaurant down in the city?" he asked, shifting his car again as they merged onto the highway "I've never been there, but I heard it was really good." and insanely expensive, but he didn’t' add in that part.
Felix let out a little gasp as he turned to look at Jason. "I'm not dressed for that place! I'll get even weirder looks as I'm like dressed for McDonalds or something." he pouted and looked at his shirt. "Which would be just as amazing." he chuckled.
Jason smiled "If people are going to be looking at you, it's because you're gorgeous, not because of how you're dressed. And should I be taking a hint that you'd rather go to Mickey D's?" he asked, slightly confused, not even registering that he'd called Felix gorgeous.
Felix blushed when Jason called him gorgeous. No one had ever said that and two it was just adorable. Why did Jason have to be so sweet? He smiled softly. "It doesn't matter. I'd go for any type of food. My stomach is yelling at me," and right on cue his stomach growled loudly.
Jason let out a laugh, glancing over a Felix quickly before looking back to the road "Would you really feel uncomfortable?" he asked again, not really sure if he himself would be comfortable in a place like that.
"No not really, I was just saying. I didn't really dress for a schmancy pantsy resturante. But I'm cool with it." Felix grinned and looked back at the window.
"oh..." Jason responded, suddenly feeling like an idiot for choosing it. "okay" he said softly, pulling off the highway onto the off ramp towards the restaurant.
Felix couldn't help but bounce around in his seat as he watched the street posts go buy. He thought he might have had a bit of ADD but would it really matter anyway? Nooope. He watched other cars go by and smiled.
Jason had become a bit tense and quiet, maybe just a slight bit offended by Felix’s previous comment ,but he was determined not to let it ruin the night "so um... any idea what you'd like to do after?"
Felix felt the tension in the air and turned to look at Jason. "Did I say something?" he asked, ignoring his question. "I really want to go to the restaurant Jase... I just.. I'm not dressed appropriately. I really really wanna go."
Jason nodded "I just... wanted it to be nice." he said slightly deflated, but no longer upset "I’m kinda bad at this stuff." he admitted softly. "I don't really have my heart set on it if you don't want to, or I could take off the dress shirt if that would make you feel more comfortable. I have a t-shirt on under."
"I just have this." Felix said tugging on his shirt. "But seriously Jason. I really want to go there. Please don’t change it." he pleaded, feeling like an ass now.
Jason nodded again "can you hold the steering wheel for a second though?" he asked looking over to Felix.
"No! Pull over then do whatever." Felix laughed, shaking his head. "I don’t drive from the passenger seat, it’s not safe! Especially not with me driving."
Jason looked at Felix a bit oddly, a smile inching back onto his features. he put on his directionals and pulled over, unbuttoning his shirt. "See, now you won't feel so strange" he said, tugging it off so he was in a white Misfits shirt.
"Woo, Misfits!" Felix threw his hands up in the air in a 'whoop whoop' fashion. He laughed and looked at Jason. "Ready to go?”
Jason nodded as he parked the car and pulled out the keys. And double checked to make sure he had his wallet and got out, hurrying to Felix’s door to open it for him, looking a bit awkward and blushing slightly "I don't know if this goes the same way with guys" he said shyly to his feet, referring to how he opened the door for Felix. He wasn't quite sure if you were only supposed to do that for girls.
Felix stepped out of the car and pecked his cheek quickly. "Does it matter? We're gay. We are allowed to bend the rules. And I like it when you're manly." he grinned and shut the door behind him.
Jason's face burnt up, in fact, he was quite sure his entire body was burning. "Right, so now we walk into the restaurant pretending I’m not a tomato, okay?" he joked, taking Felix’s hand as they made their way to the front door. "Shit,.. sorry." Jason stammered, letting go of Felix’s hand. He had to stop doing stuff like that.
Felix chuckled. "Jason's a tomatooo." he went from giggly to serious in two seconds. He was happy that Jason took his hand, but became disappointed when he pulled away. "Why are you sorry?"
"I - err... I didn't think you um... wanted me to do that." he managed, as they reached the door, instinctually holding it open for Felix as they entered.
Felix shoved Jason through the door laughing slightly. "You are too funny. Why would you think I didn't want it? You are crazy." he smiled and squeezed his side from behind.
Jason smiled wide, walking close with Felix to the counter, "Hi, I have a reservation for two tonight under Briggs." he said to the man. The back of his hand brushed up against Felix’s before he finally got the guts to take his small hand in his own.
Felix squeezed his hand and smiled up at him. He looked back at the man and smiled. He was just a smiling mess tonight. He was so happy.
the man said a few things that Jason really hadn't paid attention too, Felix was just being too perfect at the moment to care about much else. They followed the man as they were seated at a table, and Jason couldn't deny he was just a slight bit impressed with himself. A booth seat right by a window looking out onto the river. Damn, he was good.
Felix half squealed as he saw the river and all the lights outside. "This is perfect Jason!" he grinned as he sat down. He couldn't stop grinning now.
Jason smiled wide as he looked over to Felix. "I’m glad you like it. let's just hope the food is as good" he opened up the menu, looking straight for the pastas. He was a carb loving guy, so sue him.
Felix grinned and didn't even open the menu. "I want Alfredo." he grinned, again. He moved his leg and it brushed up against Jason's. "Sorry."
Jason blushed deeply. Was that supposed to feel that sexy? It was just a leg! "S’okay" he managed, burying his face in the menu in hopes of Felix not seeing his red features. "Yeah I think I’ll go with spaghetti bolognaise" even though he totally butchered ‘bolognaise’.
Felix laughed and leaned forward. "Bolognaise." he pronounced it for him. "Wow, I thought I was bad at Italian." he smiled.
Jason couldn't turn redder... or right... he could and he did "Sorry" he mumbled, closing his menu and placing it on the corner of the table "Err, do you want any appetizers?"
"Why are you apologizing. Stop apologizing. Every time you say 'sorry' and you don't need to I'm gonna punch you." He joked and placed his menu with Jason’s. "No, I doubt I'd be able to eat all mine. If you want one get one and I'll eat it." he smiled and folded his hands on the table.
Jason let out a breath of air. time to try and relax. "I think I’ll be all set, my appetite is half gone because of nerves anyways." he admitted with a smile, making the horrible mistake of looking up into Felix’s eyes and being transfixed in them.
Felix grinned and nodded. "Same here. I don't know how to show I'm nervous, but I'm nervous as fuck. But I'm going to have fun and it’s with you so it all ends up like that anyways." he chuckled and tucked his hair behind his ear.
Jason smiled wide, letting out a small chuckle. Felix was too cute. The swearing still caught him off guard, but not in a bad way "Wanna watch a movie back at the house after dinner?" he suggested, noticing Felix’s hand on the table. Why did he want to hold it so much? He resisted, putting his hands on his knees under the table to make sure he didn't act on impulse.
Felix thought about this for at least half a minute. "Yeah, sure. I'd like that a lot. But only under one condition." he paused. "You have to pick the movie this time."
"No way! I’m horrible at picking movies, I always pick ones that no one else would want to watch. And then you'll be sad at me and you won't sit with me." he joked, his hands becoming fidgety under the table as the waiter arrived.
"Psssh. No I wouldn't." Felix laughed and looked up at the waiter. "We can actually order our drinks and food at the same time. I'll have a water with a lemon and sugar... wait there's sugar here. Um... I'll have the Alfredo." he smiled, then looked at Jason to go.
"Err... yeah" was Felix seriously going to put sugar in water? ew. "I’ll have a raspberry iced tea and the spaghetti err... the spaghetti with the meat stuff..." he said a bit embarrassed, too nervous to try and say bolognaise again.
"He wants the spaghetti bolognaise." Felix laughed and the waiter jotted it down and went to go get the food put into the queue. Felix smiled at Jason and just stared at him.
"Thanks for correcting me. I was a too scared to give it another try" he smiled, absentmindedly putting his hands on the table top "hm, maybe we should get dessert after. what do you think?"
"Sure. Chocolate cake. MMmm... And ice cream would be amazing." Felix licked his lips like a little kid, then laughed at himself. "Or not. It's up to you."
"ah, I dunno, you made it look too sexy to pass up." he said with a smile referring to Felix licking his lips. Jason’s eyes went wide and his cheeks flushed at what he'd said "sorry... pretend I didn't say that."
Felix reached over the table and hit him in the shoulder. "Shut up." he laughed and sat back. "You need to learn. Do I need to whip you into shape?"
"huh?" some how Jason had only caught the word 'whip'. Damn Felix and his beauty. And that bottom lip... it still killed him... it looked so soft. And as he remembered, it tasted perfect too. What does the rest of him taste like? Jason wondered before he stopped himself "this is gonna be a long night...." he said to the table, not trusting himself enough to look back up at Felix who just looked at him oddly.
"I'm going to whip you into shape because you keep saying 'sorry'." Felix laughed and looked out the window. "Well, the water's nice." he said randomly, the words not even matching the conversation.
Jason turned his head to look out the window "yeah.. too bad its too cold to go swimming this time of year." he said quietly before turning his attention back to Felix "Do we have to leave the dorm house during Christmas break?" he asked randomly.
"You don’t have to. You can stay but you have to sign a paper or something." Felix explained and tore his gaze from the window. He looked at Jason. "You plan on staying?"
Jason shrugged "I’m thinking about it. my dad has a new girlfriend and I think he'd want to be alone with her for Christmas, but I don't think he'd ever ask me to not be home, so I might just stay here and save the trouble, you know?" he asked. He'd been a bit hurt the last time he'd called his father and all he could talk about was Valerie, he hadn't even asked Jason how he was doing.
Felix bit his lip and nodded. "Well, if you stay I'll stay with you. I don’t want you to be here by yourself." he said softly.
Jason looked up, surprised. "Seriously? Wouldn't you want to be with your family or something?" he asked as the food and drinks arrived.
"I think they are going to Florida. I've been there many times and I think they wouldn't mind if I stayed. It's not like their isn't any other Christmas that I won’t be able to spend with them." Felix took his glass and squeezed the lemon into the glass and took six sugar packets, pouring them into the glass. He stirred the concoction up and sipped it. Deciding that it wasn't sweet enough he put two more sugar packets in.
Jason cocked his head to the side a bit, watching Felix oddly "lemonade?" he asked, a bit confused, his head still to the side.
Felix nodded his head as he stirred the concoction again and smiled a bit. Jason looked cute like that. He sipped it and nodded in approval. "I like my lemonade to be more sugar over the lemon." he explained. "You know?"
Jason nodded with a wide grin. "You are too adorable" he picked up his fork and began to eat his food. And by eat, I mean devour. Taking a few sips of his iced tea, but mostly, he just shoveled food into his mouth "This is so good" he managed between bites at one point. He couldn’t help that he was a fast eater.
Felix blushed a bit and picked his fork up. He twirled his fork to put the noodles onto the fork. He shoved it into his mouth so he didn't have so speak.
Jason looked at Felix a bit strangely for not speaking "are you okay?" he asked unsurely, petrified he'd done something wrong
Felix nodded and kept eating. "Dis is gud." he said lifting his hand to his mouth. He smiled and continued to eat.
Jason chuckled a bit and went for his next bite, coming to the sad realization that he'd finished his dinner. He looked at his plate for a moment looking as if he'd just found out that Spot didn't really go to a farm.
Felix finished up shortly after and wiped his mouth with his napkin. He sipped his glass and watched Jason. "So, dessert or no?
"I’m thinking yes, I think I might have seen something about a chocolate mousse cake on that menu and I must admit it sounds quite tempting. Are you up for dessert?”
[[Alright, there’s more to this, but honestly, this chapter is like seven pages right now. So I’m going to cut this here and continue it next chapter which should be out really really soon. REVIEW PLEASE! ]]
