"Savannah!" Jaicyn yelled, running to where Savannah had fallen down the stairs. Jaicyn helped her to lean against the wall.
"I'm fine." Savannah told her.
"You're far from alright. What were you thinking? Getting out of bed?"
"I wanted to help, with anything. Not lay in bed doing nothing but feel the pain throughout my body." Jaicyn looked at Savannah, really looked at her.
Savannah's eyes were sunken in. Her cheeks were hollowing out and she was paler than any normal vampire. The wounds on her body had healed but she was incredibly think, fragile looking.
"Alright, you can help me in the front room. I'm taking down Halloween decorations."
"I'd love to help." Savannah said with a weak smile. Jaicyn helped her stand and guided her to the front room. Someone gently knocked on the front door. "I'll get it." Savannah said. She slowly made her way to the door and opened it. Daniel was staring back at her.
He did the first thing that came to his mind. He hugged her. Savannah was shocked. Daniel tried very hard not to touch or see her for that matter.
"Daniel, that hurts." she said wincing. He let her go abruptly.
"How are you doing? Edward told me what happened."
"I've been better. Come inside." She opened the door and he walked inside. Jaicyn stared at him for a moment.
"You're lucky that most of the kiss is not here. They'd try to tear you apart." Jaicyn said.
"I won't be here very long. I just wanted to see how Savannah was doing."
"A were-tiger being concerned about his enemy. How interesting." Jaicyn said with a small smile. She remembered what they used to be to each other.
"You can still feel it, can't you?" Savannah asked quietly.
"I've always been able to feel it. If only in tiny amounts."
"Why didn't you ever tell me?" she asked, tears filling her eyes.
"I didn't want to have to admit that I needed someone that desperately. I thought I would lose myself if it were re-instated." Savannah couldn't believe it. He could still feel her. She didn't know what to say.
"Daniel..."
There was another knock on the door. "It's mine." Daniel said. He opened the door to find Stephan and Phillip. Phillip looked absolutely furious. Stephan was looking down. He looked as though the fight was taken out of him. Like his will had been stripped away.
"What's wrong?" Daniel asked. No one spoken. Phillip pushed Stephan.
"Go on, tell him." he said angrily.
"Edward and Randi are gone." Stephan said barely above a whisper.
"Where are they?"
"The hospital."
"What?" Daniel yelled. "You let them get taken to the hospital?"
"That's not all. Fayes in the hospital, too." Phillip said. Daniel's eyes were wide in anger. The temperature in the room began to rise. It spilled over Savannah and Jaicyn in a scalding wave.
"She was thrown through a window." Stephan told him.
"Randi's window? She was thrown through a six story window? Who did it?"
"I did." Stephan said hardly audible. The temperature rose even more. Jaicyn fell to her knees. The heat was too much. She was choking on it.
Daniel grabbed Stephan's arm and threw him into the wall. He was beyond furious. His eyes bled a soft orange made hard by anger. He rushed Stephan.
"Daniel, no!" Savannah yelled, throwing herself in his path. Daniel slammed into her and they hit the floor. He had his hands on either side of her head, pressed into the floor. His body was pressed against the length of hers. He was nothing but a body of angry heat above her. Savannah had her hands on his shoulders, keeping him from potentially biting her face off. "Calm down. Daniel, you have to cool off. You're hurting everyone." But he didn't hear her. His anger had over taken his body. He was nothing but heat and anger. Savannah leaned up and kissed him.
It was a shock to his system. To suddenly be filled with an icy coldness. It spread through his body, causing everything to relax. The anger seeped out of him, replacing him with an empty hollowness. He kissed her back. It had been so long since he'd been this close to her. If this was the last time he'd get the chance, he wanted to remember her.
"Well, this is a wonderful welcome home present." Edward said from the doorway.
"Randi!" Phillip shouted. He went to her and gave her a tight hug. "I'm so glad you're safe."
"Lip, I can't breathe." she said. He let her go. He felt so guilty about having to leave her back in the apartment.
Daniel stood up and brought Savannah with him. Stephan sat up on the floor. "How did you get out of the hospital?" Jaicyn asked, finally able to stand again. Randi glanced at Edward.
"We ran out. Got shot at. You know, the usual way you'd escape a hospital." Edward told her.
"But we have to go back for Faye. We can't leave her there." Randi said.
"You mean she's alive? Still alive?" Stephan asked.
"Yes, she's alive." Randi reassured him. Stephan's face was full of relief. Phillip sank down into the nearest chair. He was beyond happy.
"Alright, how are we going to get her out?" Jaicyn asked.
"'We're' not getting anyone out. Her pard will get her." Daniel told her.
"You can't do this on your own. You're going to need help." Randi said.
"She's right, Daniel, it'll take most or all of us to do this." Phillip said standing.
"Well, does anyone have an idea?" Daniel asked.
"I do." Savannah said quietly.
