Into the Woods
As she says so turning to Antille, he gave her a brief smile.
The wind gently blows surrounding them. Isabella closes her eyes to listen to the sound around her. All she heard was the gentle voice of the wind and the leaves responding to it.
(When was the last time I was able to enjoy time?)
As she thought so, she opens her eyes, and walks towards Antille who still was looking at her smiling.
"Maybe we should take a break.", Isabella says suddenly.
Antille showed a blank face. Isabella was confused with his expression for a moment, but soon she understood. It was not like her.
"The sun will soon set. We would not be found so easily. Do not worry, we will be safe."
Antille nodded slightly. Isabella knew that was not what Antille was surprised about. The act of resting itself did not suit her, for she has been emphasizing the urgency of getting across the border as soon as possible. Isabella, however, also knew that she was as tired as Antille was. Isabella lets out a sigh. Perhaps she was the most tired of the two.
"Antille...I'm going to take a rest..."
As Isabella says so, she fell asleep on to the ground. Antille looks at her curiously, seeing another side of Isabella he never saw before. This gave him a small relief. She too is a human being, like those she killed. She kills but she also gets tired, sleeps, and is vulnerable. She may be cold hearted and strong, but in the roots she is as weak as any humans who exist in this world.
"But I am not..."
Human. Antille looks up in the sky. Through the leaves of the trees above he can see parts of the clear crystaline sky.
"That is why I must not be the one protected. I too, must protect Isabella while I can."
