Chapter Ten- I Must Do This!
He stared at all of them blankly. They were all looking at him, expecting him to agree and go in there, as if though it were nothing.
They wanted him to go in and see Bobby.....
No. He couldn't go in to see Bobby! It didn't even make sense for him to go and see the guy! Carlos, Lissa, and even Jazon knew Bobby way better than he did. They had known the boy way longer than he had; they had stronger bonds with the boy. Why did he have to go in first?!? Why was shit like this always happening to him? For some unknown reason, people always liked putting him on the spot, and it was just not working out for him! It was like they got some sort of weird pleasure out of making him miserable. And sure, he could live with it at times, but there was such a thing as 'too much. And this was just too much. He wasn't ready yet... He wasn't...
"Erick...?" Lissa stared at him, expecting him to say something. She was acting as if though this wasn't even a big deal...!
How was he going to tell them that he wasn't ready to go in yet? How was he going to explain that to them? How would he explain it, without sounding like such a big ass...?!? No, there wasn't a way for him to do such a thing! They would all question him; they would all want answers; and they would all probably do it in front of the woman with the blue dress... And the situation would probably only make Erick feel awkward and out of place. It would only end up making everything worse...
"Dude, you OK?" Jazon raised both of his eyebrows at Erick.
Everyone was looking at him!
"Okay... I'll go." Erick said meekly; having no other choice but to surrender to the will of the people who he now considered to be his friends...
Well, everyone but Jazon. This was all that bastards fault! Fucking jerk was probably doing this to get back at him; to get back at him for putting him in his place! It didn't matter though, no, he would have to suck it up. He would have to go in there and be strong. He would have to pray that he didn't break down...
*God... I hate hospitals!*
"OK, you can come with me then..." The woman spoke softly. Giving Erick a gentle smile, she turned and walked out of the family room. Leaving Erick no choice but to follow her silently...
After a few minutes of walking, the woman stopped in front of a white door, which to the side, had Bobby's name on it. The hallway was abandoned; it was just him and her...
He looked up into her eyes, the woman was taller than him. She had dark brown hair, chocolate colored eyes, and beautiful tanned skin. He hadn't really looked at her before; he had been to deep in his own thoughts to actually study her; but looking at her now, he realized that the woman was beautiful. Not the type of beautiful that would win an award for being the most 'sexiest' mom around. But she was the type of beautiful that brought peace and gentleness to the heart. The type of beautiful that made you want to keep staring at her; and when you did, it felt as if though things would be OK. It felt as if though the problem that was at hand, wasn't really that big after all...
Erick's eyes widened at that... It was almost surreal..!
"Are you OK?" The woman's eye brow raised a bit. Inspecting Erick's features; she stared at him; as if though she was trying to read his mind. The action only made him look down immediately. He didn't do well when people gave him all their attention. He felt that if they studied him long enough, they would find out how weak and pathetic he really was. How ugly, useless and disgusting he was...
He didn't like it.
"Yeah... I'm OK." He said, not bothering to look at her again. The fear that she might discover all his truths still scratching at his nerves...
Erick heard the woman sigh softly before she opened the door. The room was white, it wasn't big, but it wasn't small either. And for some odd reason, Erick smelled soap. He looked around and saw a small sink and a mirror out in the open for everyone to use. Next to the sink, there was a door, which he guessed was the restroom. There were small wooden cabinets on the wall, with five drawers to the side. It was cold in the room--- too cold for his liking. There was a small window on the right side of the entrance, and he glanced at it for a moment. It had a beautiful view; you could see the three main Free-Way's that lead to Down Town. It was packed and crowded....
Finally, after avoiding the one thing he should've been looking for, Erick let his gaze travel to the bed, in the middle of the room. He swallowed and took in a deep breath. Hearing the door shut behind him, he truned around to find the woman had left him on his own...
*Shit....*
Taking a few steps forward, Erick was now inches away from the bed; where he could clearly see Bobby laying down. His left leg was covered in white wrappings that Erick didn't know what to call; some sort of chain with a wooden plate was holding it up in the air. Wires that were attached to Bobby's good hand, traveled, until they were attached to the beeping machines on the sides. His right arm was wrapped in the same white wrappings that were on his bad leg; and it had some sort of yellow metallic thing attached to it. Erick guessed it was to keep it from moving...
"Hey...." A weak and tired whisper called out.
He gulped.
"Lissa said she would bring you... How you doing?" Bobby stared at him with his bright Chocolate eyes. And Erick wondered how that was possible. How did one in a position like that, still manage to have such beautiful bright eyes? They didn't look depressed, they didn't look down, they looked...bright!
"I'm... I'm doing good..." He didn't know what to say. What was he supposed to say? The one thing that he felt like saying, would only make him sound and look stupid! He just had to play it smart till the end. Go with the flow. Not let things get to him. He did NOT, want to break down in front of Bobby. Not after what the guy went through--- all because of him! He couldn't do that to Bobby...
"I'm glad. Have you talked to Carlos?" Bobby moved his head, placing it in a more comfortable position.
"Yeah... He's here. Everyone is here. Carlos, Lissa, Jazon, and me." He looked down, not being able to stare at those bright eyes any longer... The guilt eating at him ever so slowly from the inside out...
"That's good... I need you to stay close to Carlos, OK?" Bobby's voice was scratchy and dry. Erick could only nod in response.
Silence....
"Erick, look at me." The command was soft, but firm. Letting Erick know that he had no choice but to do what he was asked...
Dark brown met Chocolate. And Erick felt something wet on his cheeks...!
*Oh no... No... no!!! This can NOT, be happening to me!*
"Erick, this isn't your fault. If I could get up from this stupid bed, I'd kick your ass for even thinking that!" Bobby's eyes narrowed in warning. "I don't even understand why those jerks have it in for you. Just 'cause you look a little weirder than the rest of us... Maybe its cause you look so frekkin' depressed all the time... I don't know. But fuck... Those guys knew that messing with you would start trouble. I knew that what I did to Greg in the restroom would start trouble... If this is anyone's fault, it's mine. You didn't know them, and you still don't! You never knew what they were capable of... What they are capable of...! You can't let them get to you, if you do, then you're letting them win!" Bobby eyes pierced into Erick's, demanding that he accept what was being said to him. Demanding that Erick believe him... The force behind those words, the strength that they held, it was making Erick believe that... That maybe... maybe....
"Don't blame yourself, fuckker'. You didn't do anything to me, I did what I did because you were my friend. You never asked me to step in and fight for you. And you know what? I would do it again in a heart beat. Because I can NOT, stand jerks like Jacob... You believe me, right?" Bobby asked, and Erick new that, strangely enough, he did... He believed him!
He believed that the GGFF was a stupid gang that only looked for trouble. He believed that Bobby was his friend. He believed that Greg was only asking for trouble when he tried to use him as his punch bag, whilst in the restroom... And he believed that the GGFF had as much fault as he did!
Because that was the only thing in which he disagreed with Bobby. This WAS, his fault. And nothing would ever convince him otherwise... But now he had a more clear picture of it. Because it wasn't ONLY his fault, but it was Jacob's fault too. The GGFF didn't know when to let bygones be bygones, they didn't know when to end things--- they didn't know when to stop. The threat to Carlos, Bobby, Lissa, Jazon, and himself, was still there. And he was going to fix it. He was part of the reason why all of this mess had started. So he would have to do something about trying to end it...
He needed to talk to Jacob!
