Nothing at all
-Changed my mind. No flashbacks. If I want flashbacks I’ll shove them into random places in the story as like...Kit’s memory or something. I tried to give you a whole chapter of flashbacks but...he he...I’m not so good at that. Oh, and I don’t know how good I am at song fics, never done one, but I heard this song, BY RONAN KEATING, at my Aunt’s wedding and I thought it was just perfect for my story. It’s in the ( ) things. :P
I woke to an empty room and got a little thrown off again. My time frame was so messed up in this place. The would randomly tell us times. Like at nine we had to go to bed, at twelve we had to eat, and other things like that. Other then that time was a complete mystery to me. I forced myself out of the bed and tried to open the door to find it unlocked. That was new. Stepping into the hallway I looked around. There were a few nurses but none of them seemed distressed that I was coming out. Walking towards the ‘living room’ I peeked in and my eyes fell on Brian.
(It’s amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word, you can light up the dark)
He was talking to some girl who looked to be about my age, or a little younger. He seemed deeply intent on hearing what she had to say. Which I didn’t understand because she had actually tried to talk to me in the hallway once and it was a bunch of gibberish bullshit. Brian laughed and the girl smiled shyly.
(Try as I may I can never explain
What I hear when you don’t say a thing)
I made my way fully into the room and leaned against the wall watching them. The previous night still had me a little weary of that guy. Slowly and slowly however, I was starting to see things in those eyes of his. I didn’t know if it was just a trick or if he actually had something wrong with his eyes but they were different. At that moment he must have seen me because he looked over and gave me that trademark smile.
(The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes saying you’ll never leave me)
He tilted his head meaning for me to come over and I hugged myself as I made my way over to the window. The girl looked a little apprehensive of me but that was understandable. I had been having one hell of a bad day when she had tried, TRIED, to talk to me so I had yelled at her.
“This is Carol.” Brian told me and I felt my heart lurch in my chest. “I think you need to apologize to Carol, Christopher.”
I glared at him. “Excuse me.”
He set a hand on my shoulder. “People understand in all kinds of different ways.”
(The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me, wherever I fall
You say it best, when you saying nothing at all)
I looked back at the girl and found her hanging her head like I had killed her first born child. Rolling my eyes I sighed. “I’m sorry, Carol.”
Her head popped up and she gave a giant smile. She said something in gibberish again before bounding off. Yes, bounding off. Brian offered the seat she had been in and I took it. I leaned back against the wicker furniture and closed my eyes. What was happening to me here? What was going on?
“You okay?” came Brian’s voice.
(All day long I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near you drown out the crowd)
I looked at him without moving and found him looking at me worriedly. “What do you think?”
He smiled again and looked at something behind me. “I think you will be. Eventually you will be. ‘You cannot find yourself, only change yourself’.”
“Would you stop with those?” I asked probably more harshly then I should. “It’s annoying because I have no clue what the hell you are trying to tell me.”
He just laughed and stood up. “Come, will you take a walk with me?”
(Try as they may they can never define
what’s been said between your heart and mine)
For a moment I almost grasped onto a memory. Rain flashed into my head, and a red umbrella. I remember those things. Brian held out his hand for me and I just stood. He seemed happy enough that I had complied. We walked over to a nurse and Brian told her what we wanted to do. She thought about it for a moment, looked both of us over, and finally nodded. We walked out along the path and I kept a good distance to the right of Brian.
“Hey.” I looked over at him.
(The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes saying you’ll never leave me)
He slid his arm over my shoulders and I rolled my eyes looking away from him. I heard his laugh, that laugh that happened every time I completely blew him off. “Thought you said you wouldn’t interfere.”
His arms slid away from me and I looked up to see a genuinely sad look on his face. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.”
I felt a smile tug at my own lips and brushed some hair out of my face. It was then that I spotted a small pond. “What’s that?”
“You don’t know?” he asked and I shook my head. His hand took mine and I was pulled along over to it. It was a beautiful little pond. I could see fish swimming around in it and everything. I glanced down noticing Brian’s hand still held on to mine. His grip was slightly tight, like if he let go he was afraid he’d fly away.
(The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best, when you say nothing at all)
“It’s beautiful.” I muttered watching the fish swim around. I was starting to like being around Brian though I wasn’t sure it was for the right reasons. After all we could both just be using each other to cancel out the things we either heard or saw. Whatever though. It was nice to have them not be there.
“Think so?” came his voice, though it did not sound like normal, happy, strange Brian’s voice. I didn’t look up. To many times had I looked up and fallen into those eyes. I refused to fall again. “They put it in two years ago I think. Last time I came out here everything wasn’t so grown.”
(The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes saying you’ll never leave me)
I slipped my hand from his and turned around. “I’m going back inside.”
“Christopher.” I turned and looked back. His back was to me but he turned. He would not meet my gaze. It wasn’t that he was looking at something else or something had caught his attention. He was actually avoiding my eyes. “Are you still mad at me? For what I did?”
(The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best, when you say nothing at all)
Was I? What he had done was low. Especially to do it to someone who was in a new place and didn’t know anything around them. “Yes.”
He nodded and began to walk towards me. I turned and we began to walk back. It was silent. There were no witty comments from him, nothing. It was strange. Not an uncomfortable silence, but a silence. Deeper than any silence I had been in before, and I had been in some deep silence. It was like we canceled each other out on more levels then just one.
When we got back inside I watched as Brian snaked his way back over to the window. I blinked in half shock. What in the hell? I’d said I was still mad. That didn’t mean I had disowned him. Just then his eyes met mine and he gave me a reassuring smile. God damn him and his...ways.
Someone bumped into me and I backed away from the person in disgust. To avoid any further unwanted contact I walked over and sat back down across from Brian. “Wanna know something funny?”
“What?” I asked leaning back against the chair and closing my eyes.
(That smile, the truth in your eyes, the touch of your hand,
Lets me know that you need me.)
“Before I came here...” he muttered. “I wasn’t nearly as insane as I am now.” I looked at him. “And before you came back I was more insane then I am now.”
A/N : Again, that song was By Ronan Keating. I am not saying that it is mine in anyway, because it’s not. You have one more day. One more day. Dun dun dun. He he. Sorry. I’ll stop. I don’t know if that chapter was good. Nothing really went on, that was significant. BUT! Someone (NEA) gave me a wonderful suggestion that I may go through with. Again. If you review, you get more. And please do not look to much into this chapter. It really has no point. I just wrote it so I would have something to do for two days. If you like it, YEY. If you don\'t, here is the excuse as to why.
