Two birds of a feather

I awoke to a loud crack outside. As I sat up in my bed I noticed that it was only the thunder. I got out of my bed looking out the window that was behind my door. A part of a branch had been torn off a tree. And I noticed that a man stood right beside it.
He wore a long black trench coat in black leather pants with a white muscle shirt on. He had purple hair and his eyes glowed a unusual bright green that even I could see from this distance. In his hands he held a small package the color of ebony black. He seem to stand to a height of 6 ft. 5 the same height as me. As he noticed my stare he started to walk towards my home. I stepped backwards heading downstairs checking to make sure the front door was locked. It was. I headed into the dining room noticing the note left by my mom on the kitchen table. She always left the same note:
off to work. There's $500 on the table, and try to get some sleep honey. I'll be gone for a week or two. Call me.
Love, mom
But this time at the bottem she put:
P.s I'm having someone come over tonight to check on you. Purple hair green eyes.. yep, that's jaston. He won't stay long.. be nice.. Love ya.
A knock sounded on the door just as I picked up the money putting it in my back pocket. I headed into the kitchen opening the drawer closest to the fridge on the bottem. I reached in feeling around the top un-taping the gun as another knock sounded on the door. I stood up hiding the gun behind my back. I walked towards the door looking out the long side window. As our stare met he smiled beautifully waving at me.
"Can I see your ID?"
"Sure," he said in light voice that was full of the cold tremble he must've felt from being outside. He put his ID up to the window, and underneath his picture was his name:
1 Axsis
2 Jaston Reinhardt
But his ID wasnt of the normal type, like my moms it had a silver emblem in the corner:
It was a feather with the number 27 in front. My moms had a three across the front of her feather. She never seemed to tell me what it meant.
I unlocked the door opening it wide letting him inside. When he caught sight of the gun he paused for a moment.
"Oh, don't worry the safetys on." I said walking away towards the kitchen. "You gonna come in your letting out all the warm air..." He closed the door behind himself stepping onto the tiled floor.
I set the gun back in it's proper place as he took a seat at the dining room table.
"Your mom knows that you know how to use that thing?"
"Yeah, she's the one who taught me how to use it. And it's her gun so it doesn't leave this house..."
He set the package down on the table and it didn't seem to be wet. At all, even though he held it out in the open rain; but then again it looked like it was made of steel.
"So to what honor do I owe this visit to?"
"Your mom sent me..."
"Obviously..." I gave him a drole stare, "Did you bring that box here for me? Or is it something you always carry around?"
"Yep, I carry it around everywhere I go..." Now he gave me a drole stare, "No it's for you," he pushed it torwards me.
"What is it?" He didn't answer, and it didn't seem to be locked so I had the intent of opening it easily.
I placed my hand on top of the box and the other on the corner to get a good grip. Raising the top and inside was a feather that looked more like a muscle rather a feather. There was a gold clasp holding the two seperate feathers together. There was two smaller feathers at the top, but they were made of silver. Three tiny feathers were each on their own thread floating above the blue water. And as I stared at it, it seemed to gyrate like it was moving the water.

I slammed it shut, but when I looked up Jaston was gone and all that was left behind was a black and red leather trench coat, and also a note on the table. I read it aloud to myself, "The jacket is yours. You earned it, only because you could open the box on the first try. The jacket was made specifically for you: the emblem on the bottem has a seven over the black and red feathers, which is your favorite number... The buttons are made of steel and the inside lining of the hood is red satin; and so is the inside lining of the coat: red satin...
Your new ID is inside the jacket pocket along with directions to your new job. If you so choose to take it... And when you do come in bring your- feather scythe? What the fuck is a feather scythe?" I looked at the box. I sighed to myself as I set the note down. As i looked at the jacket I noticed a note sticking out of the top pocket. I looked it over and there was actual directions to a building. And after the directions was a side note, "There's a gun on the inside of the jacket in a holster.. The holster is securely attached to the jacket and there's a zipper on the left side to get to it. If your ever in town with the gun just show them your ID. It functions as many things: a gun license, drivers license, personal identification card, and flash it to the right person its a get out of jail free card, oh, and your working for the Feather's Regional now... Your first day starts at sundown see you then... Joan yuna. Ceo of F.R."
I pulled the ID out of the pocket looking it over. It had all the neccesary information for a regular ID: My name, Date of birth, ID number, Height, Gender, Eye color, but the one thing it didnt have was the address. The picture of me was a week old and it was the one off my phone of me with my natural hair color, which was green with black and navy blue streaks. And my hair was down past my shoulder blades, but I had always kept it in a ponytail, now a-days my hair was cut above my shoulders. My hair color now was all black, but in the next two days it would fade back to the electric green, the navy blue, and the black streaks. My hair could only hold color for three days, and my mom's hair was the same way. Hers was black with green streaks though, and she didn't even bother with dying it, because she didn't have a job where she had to change her hair to fit certain regulations... Actually I didn't even know what her job was or the regulations and requirements were.
My eyes in the picture were white with a green rim, which is usually what they look like without the contacts in, with the contacts they were blue-white hazel.
As I looked in the top right corner I noticed that there was a black and red feather emblem with the number 7 over it. It was the same one on my mom's ID.
